Found this place on yelp. I have been here for oil changes only, they charge a little less than other chain auto repair places that I have been to. They are personable and will work with you. This is a small business that is somewhat hidden, do not expect it to be like the dealer or chain auto repair places because you will be disappointed. I am giving this place 5 stars because of their service and I feel like they are more honest than other places that I have been to. They do a good job on your car. read more

This guy is a THIEF!!!!! If your friend referred you to Lalos auto service they are not your friend. We've taken all of our families vehicles to him for maintenance and we never had an issue. That all changed when we took one of the vehicles in for repairs. He said the car needed a new motor and that the car was dismantled but that afternoon my wife saw his wife driving OUR suv picking up HIS kids from school. He denied us warranty for one of work trucks, doesn't ask for work authorization just does it and hits you with a bill for thousands of dollars. If you like being lied to, robbed and taken advantage of then bring your car down to Lalos auto Disservice Center and alleged repairs. read more

The service and workers are absolute trash. Big shoutout to the man over the phone is disrespectful and rude as hell. Who tells their customers: "How many times do I have to repeat myself?" Then you also have "auto repair services" literally in your name. Yet you OVERCHARGE for doing absolutely nothing, and say you cant do any service repairs. I took my car to Kim's auto repair on Ontario in el Cerrito just to fix my passenger window, and he send it to Lalos auto services between both of them very unprofessional they try to charge me a lot . I end up bringing my car to another place were I got it fix half the price. And for some reason my car started running bad. Was nothing wrong with the engine when I took it to them but after getting it out my car was running bad. They kept my car for two weeks and I trust them but I was wrong. Women Owned. Owner n Pedro n older gentleman who owned the Impala in the air :) were absolutely lovely. Wonderful experience. Got me in within minutes of calling them on the phone and was out and done quick. Will recommend and return myself. Thank you :). Lalos auto service is a completely bad shop to take your car. He doesn't do the work you took your car in for and he tells you that you need to fix other stuff that don't need to be fixed. So he can charge you more. He really takes a long long time to get stuff fixed. 1st time goong with him, will not go to his shop ever again...... the guy is full of it!! read more

First red flag is that they take your car without an appointment. That means, they'll work it in when they can, or feel like it, they don't want to lose any business so they take everyone in when they're not staffed adequately. Then they keep adding to their original estimate because they don't spend enough time on initial diagnosis. All parts take days to order and arrive while your car sits there. So they could keep your car hostage for weeks, and every week your bill goes up by a few hundred dollars as they "run into" new problems. They order their parts from the dealer, so there is no savings for you to go to Lalo's or the dealer. At least the dealer will get your car fixed faster and they stand behind their work. Save yourself a lot of hassle and go elsewhere and stay away from this place. read more

Best family owned business I've ever been too. Entire staff is knowledgeable and has worked on all three of my cars for years without an issue. Quotes are always lower than other local shops. I buy used tires from them to save money, but all the ones I've purchased are literally "like new". Lalo, Hector, Angel, Maggie, Juan and Des are always helpful when I have questions. I, selfishly, almost don't want to recommend this place in case it sends more people to them, making my wait longer! Five Stars! read more

This place is trash. I don't think there is one certified mechanic. They don't know how to troubleshoot and they can't complete the work. Overheating issues. Had the car towed there twice and then my radiator almost fell out cause they didn't torque it to the support. Oh and brakes still squeak. I took my car to another place and they quoted me just over $5000. Yes thats $5K! I was referred to Lalo's by a friend. I explained the situation and he was very thorough with explanations, necessary work, prices, etc. I took it in and he provided me an estimate and necessary work and a timeline for completion. Needless to say, the work was done quickly and $4000 less. You have a customer for life and I cannot say enough about this business and the employees. Thank you! read more

We noticed we had a flat tire while driving on the freeway on our way home to Temecula, and had to quickly find an auto shop to fix it. We barely rolled into the parking lot with Lalo's and they were eager to help us. Thankfully they were able to plug the hole in our tire and advise us on the damage that the tire sustained. This has been my worst experience with a mechanic at an auto service store ever - apparently, one of their mechanics has recently resigned and they were short handed which is why my car (which would not start) sat there for over week without a proper diagnosis or any diagnosis of the problem until we put more pressure on the situation - after several calls and going to the shop in-person, the proper diagnosis was apparently finally made and initial communication dictated around $500 - then I called him again today to verify when car would be done and he shares the new total is $1300, which he swore he called and informed be about and had not - he continued to rant and rave loudly as we questioned the new amount and his insistence that the car be picked up immediately - he threatened to take the car apart again and told us to get it off his lot immediately when he thought that we were not going to pay the new amount - he was still yelling when we told him that we would of course pay for proper work done and problem solved - but being disrespected, yelled at and being lied to will never take me back to Lalo's Auto Service read more

Driving through town hours from home and our fuel tank strap broke and was dragging on the ground. We stopped in with no warning and asked if he could look he told us to come around back and he did the repair asked if we needed anything else so he charged our AC too since we realized it wasn't cold... he did both and we were out within an hour. Awesome considering we had two little kids with us!!! And He could have gouged us with price since we didn't even ask how much as we were desperate and he was super reasonable!!! Went here on a Sunday afternoon to get my engine thermostat checked out since the check engine light came on. First, this place is great because it is actually open on a Sunday. Most places are either closed or open for limited hours on the weekend. Staying open on the weekend is a lifesaver for people who have to work during the week. They fixed my car really quick replacing my thermostat within a couple of hours. Decided to take my Dad's car there the next weekend because of issues with starting (2001 Toyota Highlander). No diagnostic fee or anything, fixed the issue in under 100 bucks by cleaning the air intake control valves which is something that apparently affects this model and year of cars a lot. Had I gone to a dealer they probably would have charged me for replacing them altogether at three times the price. Will definitely be coming back here for my car needs! read more

I just got called this place to get a quote and they are asking for an arm, a leg & my first born! The receptionist I spoke to put me on hold twice and each time, I had to call back. My regular mechanic is on vacation so I had no choice but to look elsewhere after hearing the ridiculous prices I was quoted. I brought my wife's Grand Caravan here for Front Brakes this past Saturday and have zero complaints! Julio was friendly, knowledgeable and took his time not only with me but with the other customers I saw him deal with. He took the time to call and get price quotes for my parts and even got the vendor to price match a cheaper price. He had us in and out within a couple of hours and even came in cheaper than his original quote. The van drives great, I would definitely recommend Lalo's. read more

DO NOT COME HERE! 3 on your side?. This is a long story but please read! So I bought a 2009 Volkswagen Routan for $5,300 I the $300 went to a warranty. I spent majority of my tax money on this car. Me and my husband expressed to them we need something reliable even for work and the kids although our kids were with us we still made it a point to let them know we had three kids (a two year old, one year old, and our newborn who was only 25 days old at the time) they have doctors appointments my son sees a physical therapist so we need something that's gonna last. We bought this car with the check engine light on because we told them we were planning a trick to Las Vegas to see family and one of the scam artists I mean "sales people" insured us it would be good to make it there and back with no issues that the check engine light was on for something that wouldn't effect the driving quality i forget exactly what they said it was but something airflow and the car hadn't passed emissions yet but we signed a contract with them saying they'd fix it and have it pass emission when we get back from our trip ( I am not for sure if they ever had it pass emissions or not). Anyways Like I said I bought the warranty for I think it was 6 months or 10,000 miles whichever comes first and before our trip the transmission started to slip this was maybe 2-3 weeks after buying it and we were like 30 miles shy of our warranty being up. They had to come tow it because their city is over 30 miles from us and we would have exceeded the warranty. Due to my husband having to work we told them we needed it back soon they told us it'd be done in two days. Well before taking it to their transmission shop or even filing the claim with the warranty company to get the approval they drove it to see how it was driving and ended up exceeding that warranty and didn't even tell us so two days pass and we are asking them when we can go pick it up and they said they are waiting for the approval still day after called again and I believe on the third or fourth day of them having it and they said it was denied because it was over warranty and We told them no it isn't that I had I taken a picture of the mileage when the driver came and picked it up and I took this photos right in front of the driver. Then they tell us there it was test driven to see how it acted so they knew if they did have to take it to the transmission guy or if it was something they could fix and basically said we were shit outta luck because THEY drove it passed the warranty it took us threatening a lawyer Before they said well let me have lalo see what he can do and he'll call you back. Never called so we're getting irritated my husband is missing work so we kept calling them and lalo wasn't there they'll leave a message for him is what they were telling us. Finally we called and Lalo answered so we explained to him we will get a lawyer if necessary and if the warranty doesn't cover it he will come outta pocket to have it fixed. Then we get a call later that day from an employee who said warranty will cover it because lalo told them they sell a lot of warranties for them and they will no longer do so if they don't fix it. They send the car to the transmission shop finally and they fix it but that took another couple days over all I think it was a week they had it. Two days later check engine light came back on a week after that it started overheating & a week later the engine was blown. I dont drive it when it's hot I pull over We took the car to get tune ups etc. I'm going to have to sell it for as much as I can get & try to find a cheap car for whatever we make. $5,300 down the drain spent that much thinking I'd get something reliable that'd atleast last a year this car didn't even last 3 months I am a mom of three kids three and under and it is messed up how they did me my kids have doctor appointments physical therapy etc my 6 month old has seizures &I don't even have a ride to the hospital for him when it happens. Going to Lalo's was a great experience. Going in to get my steering fluid replaced was cheap and fast. He was also able to inform me about everything he was doing and even let me watch to see what he was doing. After he was done my car ran so much better and quieter that everyone noticed. Was having a problem with my car so I went to Lalos because they were close. paid 90.00 for quote (not a problem) but noticed I was being way over charged for labor and parts in quote. This place a total scam. I called about a repair and was told it would be $430 dollars so I left my truck over a couple days. I was told i would be called when truck is ready. Get called to go in and pick up truck but when I get there I'm told I owe $920! I asked why it was so much and was told I needed more work done. That they called me to ask me but no one picked up and they went ahead and did it anyway. Yet the call sure went through to let me know to pick up my truck.... I would stay away from this shop, bunch of scumbags who scam and rip people off. read more

This place is the best they take good care of the people that need their cars worked on. They're honest and have great prices too.
