Good food for a decent price. I got 3 small chicken thighs for around $20. My friends also liked the quesabirria. It had outdoor seating and is next to pillar point pier. Take a walk to the pier after eating and enjoy the ocean views! There's a lot of fishermen on the pier always catching crab and various species of fish. Service was fast and efficient.

Lamas was great. Service was fast and friendly. The food was bomb. I had the birria tacos - they were a hit! Husband had the lomo and it was good. Definitely pay them a visit. It's worth it. Oh p.s. this is for the food truck.

First time trying Peruvian food and I enjoyed and ate every bite. This is a food truck set up in a parking lot. They had picnic tables set up in the lot and were pretty quick. I thought that the meat was under seasoned, but the green sauce gave it a lot of flavor... without it, it would have been bland... overall good value and quick.

Excellent spot for a quick lunch in Half Moon Bay. We went to the food truck. I ordered the lomo saltado with shrimp and the cheesy yuca. I loved the lomo saltado with shrimp but would skip the cheesy yuca next time. My bf ordered the lomo saltado with steak, which he liked. I had a bite of his & it was good, but if you like seafood, shrimp is the way to go. They also serve Mexican food here, which I didn't try, but if I were in the mood for Mexican food, might be worth a try.

Found this place on Yelp and was enamored by the pictures so decided to check it out during my lunch break. The food truck was really easy to find it was in the parking lot by the harbor. I ordered the Lechonada Peruana and Cheese Yucas. Lechonada Peruana (4.5/5) The Lechonada Peruana was delicious. The pork belly was very soft and the sauce was flavorful. It was also a large serving size and I ended up eating the left overs for dinner. Cheese Yucas (2.5/5) I was very excited when I saw cheese yucas on the menu because it sounds delicious but unfortunately they were very average. They were lightly fried and fluffy but lacked flavor.

I was visiting Prince Harbor late last summer. We were across the street at Hob Dogma, the brewery. While we were standing outside, I looked over and saw Lamas Peruvian truck. I walked over, checked out the menu and walked away. That was a mistake! Today I figured out what my mistake was. I only took a look at the Mexican menu and did not see their Peruvian offerings. Today I ordered the ceviche mixto, french fries, along with an Inca Cola. That Inca Cola took me back to my childhood. Back to thee ceviche. Oh My God, that ceviche was delicious and fresh and that freshness was verified by my fisherman friend Omar. Also, you have the option of how spicy you want your ceviche. I like heat and believe me, I got heat. He had the Grilled Chicken taco plate and was happy with it. I can wait to go back and try some more of the items on the menu, thankfully there are lot. The service is great and you can taste the pride they take in their food. Keep in mind it's a food truck and there are some nice picnic tables there.

Hmm, I wonder what happened here. This cafe is inside the often vacant Shoppes at Harbor Village where they face stiff competition from the more renowned La Costanera. Interesting how the only two restaurants in the mall are both Peruvian like there's a ceviche face-off that's about to occur. I tried it after taking a walk from Moss Beach and decided to sit in the mall to eat. I went for the $17 Pollo Peruano, a trio of slow-cooked chicken thighs marinated in spices. It was served with salad and a scoop of white rice, and there was a thimbleful of their peppery rocoto sauce that was hardly enough to use (photo: https://bit.ly/3ulyCBx). The poultry itself was somewhat overcooked, though the offset was the $6 Platanos Dulce, a generous plating of sweetened fried plantains (photo: https://bit.ly/3bCgyMZ). I was the only one dining there except for a senior couple who stood steadfastly in front of my view of the TV with nary a thought that I was there watching. Anyway I returned a couple of months later. This time there was no sign of that senior couple. Apparently they found their remote at home. More concerning was how I stood at the counter and waited for someone to wait on me. Even though the staff came in and out of the area, absolutely no one acknowledged my existence even after I welped an apologetic "Excuse me". I won't speculate why I was ignored, but I left out of frustration and went to La Costanera. Now I know why there are two Peruvian spots in the mall. Sheesh. FOOD - 3 stars...stellar plantains overshadowed by overcooked chicken thighs AMBIANCE - 3 stars...watch out for indifferent, immobile TV watchers in the mall SERVICE - 1.5 stars...didn't feel ignored on my first visit TOTAL - 2 stars...well, I know another Peruvian place... If you are looking for homemade good quality food this is the place! They offered both peruvian and mexican food. The service is great, owner is very friendly and makes sure everyone is okay. They have tables outside in case you want to eat there! We will definitely be coming back! Highly recommended!

We've been coming to this restaurant for a few years now and Service/Food is always great but today we had some issues with our order/quality of food. We ordered the Ceviche Trio, Lomo Saltado de Carne, Plantanos Dulces, Choritos A La Chalaca, Guacamole with Chips and Chicha Morada $80. First Issue we had was with the Ceviche Trio $25. One of the Ceviche with the squid in it was inedible. It was hard and couldn't chew it because it wasn't left enough time for the lemon to cure it. The owner know this as she said she was going to make it as they were out. Second issue was the Choritos a La Chalaca $13. They were delicious but two of them weren't clean properly and the mussle beards were still left in the mussle. Plantanos Dulces $6 we're delicious as always with a side of crema. Lomo Saltado de Carne $20 was delicious although it seems the plate has less meat than previous times we visited. The lady at the register was very nice and helpful so was the man that was helping her drop off food but let's talk about the owners nasty attitude and lack of caring to hear about the muscle still having the beards attached. As a previous restaurant manager I appreciate feedback when things like this happen and in this industry you need to know how to professionally take criticism but when I mentioned it quietly (even spoke Spanish in hopes that other customers didn't understand) to the owner she had a snarky remark and brushed it of like she wasn't at fault she asked me why I didn't return them. I wasn't asking for a refund or anything. I wanted her to be aware of the situation. I know what it is and just removed it but any other customers would of thought it was hairs or something worse. Her bad attitude and her not wanting to replace the inedible ceviche in the first place was a total deal breaker for us (granted later she did replace it but before that she told the server to tell me she wasn't going to since I had already taken the plate‍). Sadly we will not be coming back to eat here any longer. There's other great choices in the area (Mezza Luna, Barbara's Fish Trap, Seafood Market) and I refuse to support any buisness where the owner has a crappy attitude for something she were at fault for. For her sake I hope her Chef doesn't keep calling out as her cooking isn't as great as his is.

-Bistek A La Probre [rib eye, fries, rice, fried egg, fried plantains, sautéed tomatoes and onions] ($22) mhmmm so freaking bomb - ive never had Peruvian food before and this is truly one of the most amazing dish i tried recently!! I love the combination of the sweet, the savory, and the spices were so well balanced ‍ besides the amazing food options that were available the staff were equally as amazing. he even shared with us his house made special spicy sauce which was SPICCYY but paired so well with what we were having. The item on the menu I ordered was on the day special -- though it may not permanently be on their menu they have something very similar. i'd say that it's half outdoor and a half indoor meaning that it is not directly inside the restaurant itself but it's outside within the plaza/hallway. if y'all are in the area make sure to stop by bc 10/10 its so so worth the try tip: large parking lot, shared plaza bathroom with a code (make sure you ask the restaurant staff)

This is hands down the best food truck on the coast. I have had the arroz con mariscos, plátanos, and pollo peruano and all have been superb. Best deal for Peruvian food in the Bay Area. The fish dishes are local from the harbor nearby and the truck is very careful with keeping things clean and safe. Everyone is wearing a mask and there are sanitizers stations near the truck. Outdoor seating too. What a great find!! read more

Excellent customer service! The food is delicious as well. I had the white fish ceviche and my husband had the Lomo saltado, both dishes were excellent. The side of Yuca frita and yuca with cheese were both really good to. They serve Hop Dogma on tap which is a plus. I will definitely be coming back next time we visit Halmoon Bay area. read more

Stopped in for lunch after the July 4th parade. Good wholesome food served quickly. Prices are fair for the area. I would try similar restaurants in HMB before deciding to return to this one. It just didn't jump out and say, "you found the place" for Mexican food here on the coast. read more

This was a perfect combination of Mexican, Peruvian and pizza. I wanted to try everything on the menu. I recommend the appetizer platter. The staff was super friendly and even hooked us up with free dessert!! Fried plátanos with a side of custard dipping sauce. read more

One of my husband and sons favorite places to go to for burritos or tacos. But my husband loves to try everything on the menu. With the Covid they'd had their taco truck parked outside parking lot. What a great find...especially when all the other places around town are packed with people. Fast service. read more

Their chicken is so good! Well-marinated, tender and fall-off-the-bone chicken that will leave you wanting more after your first bite. The rice and salad that came with it was satisfying as well. Perfectly seasoned for me. Of course, I had my Inca Cola drink to accompany my meal. Compliments to the Peruvian chef who I got to meet! Nice and attentive people running this business. read more

The staff is super nice and accommodating. Everything is very clean and they allow dogs on the patio! They also had the NBA game on which was a big plus. Food was great. Will definitely be back. Be sure to try the Peruvian Chicha Morada drink!! read more

The Ceviche Trio with plantain chips was amazing. We also had the Jalea Mixta. The best was the ceviche of course and I highly recommend that. The fish in the Jalea was delicious as well, but I was slightly disappointed and how tiny and over cooked the calamari was. Will definitely visit again though and excited to see my favorite cuisine on the Coast. read more

Great, casual little Peruvian place off Hwy 1 in El Granada (Princeton by the Sea). They also have a Mexican menu and pizza (Peru has a large Italian population), but I've only had the Peruvian fare. Tonight I tried the Pollo Peruana. Long-marinated, slow-cooked, so tender it fell off the bone. Seasoning was excellent; a hint of heat, but mostly just a delicious blend of spices. Tables are in an indoor courtyard, wine is nothing to write about, you order at the cash register, so this is not fancy. The food and sincere, helpful service are easily worth a visit to this spot read more

ceviches were really good. the 3 of us got the Lamas Leche de Tigre and the Ceviche Mixto. the Tigre was more flavorful, but we polished off both. we also ordered the Arroz De Mariscos, which had a really nice touch of heat and was cooked really well. we will definitely come back when we're in the area. the people were very nice, too! read more

I enjoy eating at this restaurant. They have 3 different kind of food. Mexican , pizza and Peruvian. I can eat with my boys and enjoy the yummy food. I have to agree with this being a hidden gem. Ate the Peruvian Ceviche trio and the other seafood dishes and they were very flavorful tasty and filling! Free chips and salad with you order! Kids and Hubby ordered Mexican and portion sizes were extra large off the chains flavor was to die for! Didn't try the pizza but will definitely come back to try the other dishes! read more

Update: the last few times I have attempted to order food from here, they have closed significantly earlier than their stated hours. Tried to order food at 7:45 when their hours stated they closed at 8:30, and now this evening tried to get food at 7:35 when their stated hours say they are open until 8 however not only were they closed, but they had clearly closed some time ago as it was completely dark inside. I've been wanting to try the very newly opened place that took over a take-out pizza place that had closed since I heard from a friend they had opened. They have the pizza place in one suite, and then a Mexican and Peruvian place in the suite next door. We ordered a wet burrito and the super quesadilla. Both were huge (each could probably pretty easily be shared between 2 people), but both had great flavor, the meats (carne asada, and al pastor) we're both cooked really well! The prices are on par with what we expected for what we ordered. Seating is limited, but they have some cute patio tables outside in the center mall area that we sat at to eat. ThI can't wait to go back and try the ceviche and some of the Peruvian dishes! read more

First time trying this place , little hidden gem in HMB! My family and I got Peruvian and Mexican dishes. Well portioned and very yummy! The seasoning was great. Definitely worth my money. This place is awesome! We love the ceviche and the steak pizza. Lots of great eats for the ankle biters and, well, ceviche for the grown ups. We love hanging out at Hop Dogma for the adult beverages, board games and ambiance and ordering delivery from Lamas. The ceviche is puckery, hot and absolutely satisfying. Did I mention the ceviche? The eating area can be cold so bring a coat in the winter. Also notable are the tacos-- their meats after excellent and the tacos are excellent meat vehicles. Lest you think it's all for carnivores, I have it on good authority that the vegetarian burrito is excellent. read more

Best place in town! I've tried a lot of different items from there menu. There burritos are excellent. I've had the Regular (Carne Asada) and also the Wet Burrito. I'm a commercial fisherman that works around the corner and it makes it so convenient. All of the staff is great. 5 Stars!!! read more

This little restaurant is located in what is basically an indoor strip-mall. But don't let its location put you off. I'm a serious Peruvian food aficionado, having spent 4 years in Lima. Their Lomo Saltado (they have meat and veggie variations, but I'm a traditionalist) is one of the best I've had. My husband always enjoys the "Peruvian paella." We stop by whenever we're on the road between our home and Monterey Bay. Definitely recommended for its no-frills but delicious Peruvian food. read more

Picked up food outside as part of COVID protocol, but was impressed by how attentive and helpful the staff was. Food was very good. Pizza on the menu was a surprise, so we tried a veggie. It was great. We also had arroz de mariscos and the yuca frita and platanos. All good. Lots of seafood in the arroz. read more

Always surprised yet excited when we get a new Place that serves Mexican food that manages to be unique and delicious enough to keep me coming back with all the other choices on the coast. Location is convenient, service is friendly. I'm a big fan of the chicken enchiladas and their salsa's. read more

Got excited after finding Peruvian food so close to the house. Ordered the Lomo Saltado, Arroz Caufa, and the Causa de Pollo. Ingredients were fresh in all three dishes although the Lomo Saltado and Arroz Chaufa lacked in flavor. The Causa de Pollo had more flavor and was good. I would order it again. read more

Was so happy to finally check this new spot out. We were not disappointed. Didn't order the pizza this visit (another time). We loved the ceviche trio, taco salad and enchiladas. The Poc Chuc, Cochinita Pibil, and Chicken Adobo were favorites. For our group, the restaurant was the perfect size and I am so thankful they could accommodate us. Colleen helped us plan the event and she was so easy to work with. She took excellent care of us on the day of and was a true professional. Mitchell and Arturo worked so hard cooking and getting all of the food out and provided excellent service. My family loved chatting with them all at the end of the event. We love Café Capistrano so much and look forward to visiting for many years to come.

I love this local coffee place. They have sweet breads. And quiche. And little sandwiches. And house Made soup of the day. Of course, all kinds of coffees, and teas, and hot chocolate. And if you really need it some sodas and waters. Today's coffee for me was just a simple latte. A delicious one to be sure! I recommend when you order yours that you get it for consumption at Cafe Society, in a nice cup. Many times a month. They also have live music including jazz, and many other things. If you happen to play the piano, or have some sort of instrument you can bring with you, Cafe Society is also amenable to having you come in at the moment and entertain the crowd. There are two pianos on site., A pair of pianists who show up that wants to duel could probably do it. Separate rooms in the cafe. But that would make it all the more enjoyable for people sitting in the middle listening to a piano duel. And with the way the tables are arranged at the current time, access to electrical outlets at more than a couple of tables is available. So Cafe Society makes a great place for your day's adventure. Stop to enjoy a little recharge of both your body, and your devices. Their bathroom is always kept clean. Even to the point of letting your child go in alone. On any given day, there is parking within a reasonable walking distance, if not directly out in front. Cafe Society is located on Main Street in half Moon Bay. It's both easy to find, and easy to miss. So keep your eyes open. But if you do happen to miss it, they are located in the ground floor of the Odd Fellows Hall building. If you're looking up, look for the eyeball staring back at you at the roofline. Somewhat friendly during the daytime. Somewhat spooky at night But always an attention grabber. LOL I totally recommend Cafe Society and half Moon Bay. They've been around for a long time. There are many reasons for it. And those reasons are the motivation for my visits, again and again.
