Outdoor dining was spacious and great on a beautiful day. The food was good but not amazing. Clam chowder didn't have that much clams but the flavor was good. The seafood platter was a nice option with calamari, fish, shrimp and fries. Loved the fries and fish! Service was not great. The server was very slow and not very attentive.

Stopped here to get a beer and a shot. Pretty decent spot. I love the fact that they have 2 fire pits outside because this area definitely needs them lol. The beer was tasty. I had the 1st one on the beer list. It was light and just right. I had the orange label Bullet whiskey.

Waterfront outdoor dining, great food and location right by the water at the marina. Outdoor seating and fire pits. Live music! Good selection of beers and wines.

On a weekend evening, my friends and I decided to stop by for a light dinner since we were in the area. Even though it was a nice day, we sat inside due to no seating being available outside. Between us, we ordered poke, some tacos, oysters, and fish and chips. The fish and chips portion size was decent for its price, and I loved the crispiness of the fish. The chips went well with their rich tartar sauce. The presentation of their oysters was elaborate, and overall we enjoyed stopping by and enjoying the ocean view while eating our various seafood dishes.

Great lunch! We sat at the bar and started with a Watermelon Cooler, Bloody Mary and Fried Calamari. Drinks were delicious. Calamari was crispy and fried perfect. Tarter and Cocktail sauces were also tasty but not too tangy. Next we had the Clam Chowder and Fish & Chips. Again the Fish, perfectly fried, crispy outside, tender inside. Good portions with chunks of fish. Crispy battered fries too. Clam chowder was thick, creamy and chock full of clams and chunks of potatoes. Very flavorful. Service was attentive and friendly. Overall a great lunch. A little pricey $$$ but that's par for HMB.

We tried the parmesan truffle fries perfectly crisp and the cheesy garlic bread was nice and fresh, that came with a really good dipping sauce. My guy had the seasonal oysters, which were decent. I went for the veggie hummus sandwich, it was pretty loaded and came with a creamy coleslaw, but the hummus itself felt a bit bland to me. The outdoor seating is really cute with string lights and a beach view. Service was quick and attentive. It did get a little chilly in the evening but sitting by the fire made it cozy!

What a great day ...and meal! We had an outdoor table - 1pm Friday ... warm, sunny & not crowded. What a great time on the patio looking out at the ocean. There were singles, dog lovers with dogs, families too. Not crowded. Our server was smiling and helpful. After selecting wine & dark beer we studied the menu. Peju makes a great wine, BTW. Fisherman's garlicky stew and fresh blackened chicken w veggies salad - both really good. The pictures tell the story: great service, gorgeous food, perfect sunny day and not crowded... drop everything and go eat lunch on a weekday!!

Half Moon Bay Brewing Company is one of those places where the setting does a lot of the heavy lifting -- and honestly, I'm okay with that. The patio is the star here. Ocean views, sea air, space to linger, and that relaxed harbor energy that makes you slow down without trying. It's a great spot for a casual afternoon meal after a walk around Pillar Point Harbor, especially on a clear day. Food-wise, it's solid and satisfying without trying to overreach. Service was great when we went on a weekday, and everything felt relaxed and easy. We ordered the seared ahi tuna sandwich, which was good but not great -- nicely done, but not especially memorable. The blackened fish taco was flavorful but surprisingly not spicy and leaned a bit bland, even with the "blackened" label. Portions are generous, the beer menu is reliable, and sticking to the classics seems like the smart move here. Weekends can feel crowded and a little chaotic, but that's kind of the deal with popular coastal spots. On a weekday or earlier in the day, it's much more enjoyable. Overall, this is a dependable, easygoing place to sit by the water, have a beer, and enjoy the view. Come for the patio and the vibes, order simply, and you'll have a good time.

HMB Brewing is a solid food establishment with great ambiance, right across from the shoreline. Patio dining is excellent on a beautiful day, but they have adequate indoor seating and a nice bar, which is a great space to catch a game. We got oysters for the table, which were nice and fresh. I followed that with a spicy ahi sandwich, which was well composed and seasoned. To wash it down, I enjoyed a michelada and Vienna lager, which were both great and would order again. Def worth a visit if you're hungry or thirsty in the area.

Ask the Community - Half Moon Bay Brewing Company

    Are reservations needed?

If you decide to go on a weekend, I suggest you make a reservation. But then you have to sit inside. It's a nice back up if you are on time restriction. If you decide to sit…

    Do you serve non-alcoholic beers?

Yes. We have a few different non-alcoholic beer options. We do not brew non-alcoholic beer though.

Are you open on new years day?

Yes. We are open regular hours on New Year's day.

    Do you serve Thanksgiving dinner?

Yes. We have a special Thanksgiving dinner menu every year, 11am-5pm.

    Are small dogs aloud?

    Yes there because it's outside.

    Do you fill personal growlers?

    Yes we do!

Looking to reserve for a memorial service end of March. 25-30 people 11 to 1 o'clock Would prefer not sit down, but casual with salads, appetizers?

Sorry for the confusion. You're asking the community, not the restaurant. Contact the restaurant for reservations.

How hard is it typically to get onto the patio, on a friday night? i've got reservations and understand i can't reserve outside... we'll be in town for a 50th bday celebration and want the best seat in town.

It depends what time you arrive, Stiffler. If you want to catch the sunset, arrive an hour early and the patio is not too crowded yet. You're more likely to get a seat than going to Sam's, most people start go there first. Your chances is much…

Come to think of it the last couple visits I had at the palace or barrels in Petaluma wasn't that great either. The staff just doesn't really care. Hopefully whoever's running this place can turn around. Bring back servers that are fun and care.
