I'm not sure where to start with this one... Service: I can not say enough good things about the way we were treated right from the start. Six of us showed up yesterday, 7/3/23, right at 5 pm. When we signed in, we were told it would be about 30min., we were seated in about 15 minutes, and almost immediately, the servers with the pass arounds started approaching the table to dole out their wares. Austin, our server was AMAZING! He was polite, friendly, welcoming, and VERY efficient. We never went without anything, and he checked on us frequently. Food: THE food was top-notch, amazing, and AWESOME! Everything we ordered, our entrees, sides, and pass arounds were all fresh, hot, and tasty. The rolls are fresh and delivered via "air-mail"... all you have to do is raise your hand and get ready to catch. I REALLY can not think of anything to complain about when it comes to the food. We found the most Midwest restaurant in Ozark, Missouri! From the minute you walk in you are thrown back in time when Americans were traveling across the plains. Everything is extra big. From the coffee mugs to food. It's not cheap but you do get lots of "extras" with your meal. Also, keep your head down as the buns can be flying all over the place. I had the chicken pot pie and it was so delicious! Wife had the pulled pork with potato salad. Both were delicious! No way she could finish it in one seating. The potato salad was the best, BTW. I come just for the fried potatoes and onion. The room is decorated with flags hanging from the ceiling and license plates on the walls. What a fun concept! You pay for people to throw bread at you while you wait for your food. Kids of all ages enjoy this experience. There's no reservations or call ahead, you just give your name to the person taking names and wait patiently for your table. From opening to close, plenty of people are waiting for a seat outside and in the air conditioned gift shop. The walls of the restaurant are adorned with historical license plates, signs and flags from different states. It's a lot of fun and the food is hearty. They send "pass arounds" around that they just put on your plate if you want them. FYI, you cannot share a meal, or else you will be charged $12 for the pass around plate. You should just order a separate meal. The food does take quite a while to arrive so just get the throwed rolls and fried okra while you wait. The best pass around is definitely the potatoes!! Go get some "throwed rolls" and delicious country cooking! We arrived at the perfect time- just minutes before the dinner rush...right before 5pm on a Wednesday! We were seated promptly and rolls started to be "throwed" our way and Tanner came to take our order! Drinks are served in giant insulated cups and chosen by color for the type of drink you chose. When the food arrives, we had SO much! The salmon was perfectly cooked, served with its sides in a large skillet. The kids' burger and chicken tenders were cooked perfectly. My pick was the chicken pot pie- it is enough for 2 people and is Ah-Ma-Zing! Overall, the sides with each meal were fantastic- my faves were the cucumber and onions and the coleslaw- I'd avoid the green beans- they are just from the can. THEN, the pass arounds started to arrive- molasses and apple butter for the rolls, perfectly cooked fried okra bites, the crunchy and seasoned fried potatoes and onions (not fries or tots), and fairly tasty black eyed peas (we passed on the tomatoes and macaroni but I'm told it is good- if you like tomatoes). It was total chaos in the dining room. When the guy with the rolls would enter everyone was yelling and rolls were flying. He really sings them too. We were at the booths in the back so he would side arm them to us. They were hot, fresh and tasty. Honestly, after a roll and a half I was about full! It took a while to have our order taken, I feel a little sorry for the staff since there is so much going on with all the diners, the thawed rolls and the passed sides going around. I was getting anxious because the girl with the fried potatoes passed us by three times because we didn't have plates. I ordered chicken n dumplings and my wife ordered salmon. The food arrived pretty quickly, I'd guess it is a big assembly line in the back. Lie I said we were both full from the rolls, but liked the taste of the entrees. The dumplings were salty but had a good consistency and tasted good other than the saltiness. The salmon was huge and my wife liked it. June 1, 2024 and 4 of stopped in for a late lunch. The estimated wait time of 20 to 30 minutes turned into 45. Once seated, everything started off real smoothly, including getting a bunch of okra on some paper towels, and soon we were catching rolls. The battered/fried chicken livers were on the dry side. The mushroom gravy did not have any mushrooms in it, and for that matter, lacked flavor and congealed very quickly. The pulled pork sandwich was perfect! The mushroom cheeseburger was well done, and thinking back upon it, the server never asked for a cook/wellness preference. Another pulled pork sandwich was ordered, but without bun so it arrived in a bowl. It was a sizable portion, but contained quite a bit of fat. Our server was nice and made mention of some vendors being changed, but made absolutely no suggestion on how to correct/remedy the order. We asked for the manager who rectified the issue. The okra was very good and the rolls were absolutely fabulous. The parking lot is absolutely huge, and thankfully so, as the indoor seating capacity is 700. read more

My dish was delicious and throughout our sitting there was kitchen staff going to each table offering different sides to add to your dish, adding it to your bill of course. I had fried catfish with coleslaw and green beans and my date had chicken and dumplings with cucumber and onions and turnip greens. Our top picks in our order was the fried catfish, delicious. The favorite of everything served was the hot rolls that they throw, and I do mean "throw" at your tables. These guys will throw you a roll from across the room and get a direct hit. It was hilarious. But aside from all that fun, these rolls are delicious. Make sure you catch plenty of them.
