Delicious pizza! We got the Mediterranean--especially enjoyed the drizzles of pesto and thick slices of heirloom tomato. The buffalo wings were vinegary and hot, just the way they should be. They delivered across the plaza to Super Owl Brewing where our little family was sitting at the outdoor patio. Such a great arrangement for a cool (almost) fall evening. This place is great! Their pizza comes out piping hot out of the oven and the ingredients are fresh. The cheese literally melts off the pizza because it's so hot. When I came here, I got a pesto based pizza with three toppings: artichokes, tomatoes and sausage! Lol it sounded like a really weird combination at the beginning but when it came out, it was really good! The artichokes were my favorite part of the pizza and I'm not that much of a fan of them on my pizza. They were so good to pick off of the pizza and eat them on their own. I really liked the pesto base instead of the tomato base. The pesto was not overwhelming at all and really gave the pizza some pizzaz. I mean, a 12" pizza with three toppings for $18.49 I would expect an incredible pizza. It definitely didn't disappoint, but was a little out of my college price range. Good thing I came with two other friends to split it with. I have frequented this pizzeria on numerous occasions and am part of their rewards program. However, last night I showed up with my family (7 adults and 1 infant - he wasn't eating, so no harm no foul). I placed an order that was north of $100 and had to explain to the cashier that I was dining in and that I needed a number. She was obviously flustered and couldn't focus on the sale as I repeatedly informed her that the order was for dine in and that I had always been provided a number so that they could bring my order out to me. Finally got my number and drinks and sat down. After 40 minutes I had not received any of my order so went up to check. They had it in to go boxes with the number on the box - no salad as I had requested, and no breadsticks. I refused to pay and they compensated my order, even my drinks. I appreciate that, but I will not be coming back anytime soon as it ruined our dining experience and we went away with empty stomachs (and to be honest, the pizza did not look very good - they were busy, so probably rushed, but I won't pay for crap). I will not be visiting any time soon. Hopefully they can regain some control and quality and get their cashiers properly trained. I hope so - I really liked this place. read more

We went here for our first time after reading about it being #1 pizza in Yolo County (for the 5th year in a row). We were helped by Janet who gave us a lot of great information about the business and the pizza. She was so friendly and has worked there for over twenty years which is pretty special. They have a great selection of beers on tap. The pizza was phenomenal. We got the Best of Seven pizza and wouldn't change a thing. My husband is a picky pizza person and said it was the best pizza he's had in a long time. The crust was crunchy while still being airy. Sauce was delicious and toppings fresh. Janet said they make the dough every day fresh. The outside of the business looks nothing like the inside. I wasn't expecting much and was surprised to walk inside and see a large dining area with lighted brick walls and a ton of tvs with different sports on. I MISS LAMPPOST SO MUCH! When I went to Davis the pepperoni and mushroom pizza with garlic sauce was my best friends' and my go to pizza. The prices were reasonable (I don't know what their prices are now). The garlic sauce is super garlic-y, so it probably isn't the best choice on a date...but you know... if the person can't handle you with rank breath then....forget'em. Their online ordering system failed to pass on the request for our boneless wings to be buffalo flavoured and we didn't notice until we got them home. (Yes, we did double check our order.) Came in for mothers day. They messed up our Pizza which they usually always do but made a smaller new Pizza for us. The quarter machine was out of change so I gave my daughter $5 to ask for change. I noticed the girl was looking really mean when she was talking to my daughter so I walked up to make sure everything was ok. I said she wasn't being very kid friendly and she called me a -BITCH- right in front of my 6 year old. I told the person in charge but the really didn't do anything. There are a lot of tables and chairs in the restaurant as well as outside of the restaurant so it's definitely a good place if you're looking to seat a large party. The tables and chairs in the restaurant are moveable so you can easily move them around to make a bigger table if needed. I would recommend sharing pizzas with people because it would be expensive to get a regular pizza or even a personal pizza. I ordered chicken tenders and fries but the portion was extremely small and there were also barely any fries which was disappointing. The chicken tenders were pretty small as well. A few days later: I'm raising the review a notch because of a positive response from the owner. I will be stopping in again the next time I'm in town. -- Tom ===== The pizza was great. The service was acceptable. The environment, however, was so disruptive that we were unable to enjoy our meal. The problem centered around two families, four adults and a bunch of kids, who had commandeered several tables in the middle of the floor. The kids were allowed to run around, scream, and jump, etc. The adults shouted to each other so they could hear themselves over their children, so loudly that we could clearly hear everything that was said. At one point one of the male adults carried on a cell phone conversation at full redneck-outdoor volume. I spoke to them at one point, politely asking for a bit of respect, since the kids were shouting and jumping at our table-side. I was received with blank stares, of course. In the age of Yelp, I realized it is a touchy thing to risk the ire of customers by required decent behavior. However, I believe that it is better to offend an offender, than lose the dozen or so customers forced to endure such disruptive behavior. Surely, a bit of employee training would empower restaurant employees to see to the comfort of their non-disruptive guests. I spoke to these two families on the way out, and was received with the aggressive boorishness one would expect. Their excuse seemed to center around the argument that this was a 'family restaurant,' which to them meant that anything goes. I agree that the atmosphere in a family restaurant is less formal than a fine-dining setting, but it is still a restaurant, not a playground or a romper room. The people sharing the room are eating and conversing, not babysitting hellions while their doting parents look on. So, for all you young families who didn't have the benefit of parental training, I offer the following: 1. A restaurant is for eating, not for playing. 2. Children need to remain seated. Running around is dangerous for both children and staff., 3. All conversation, including children and cell phones, need to be kept at a level that does not disturb other guests. 4. When you are finished, leave. Holding a table, or several tables, especially in a restaurant that is at capacity, is just plain wrong. 5. Be mindful of your actions and that of your children, as they impact others around you. And for you restaurant owners, please realize that the risk of offending the rude is far outweighed by the risk of losing customers. You have a responsibility to provide a pleasant environment for your guests. I will not be returning to this restaurant, which saddens me, as the food was excellent. If I lived in the area, I would still consider take-out, but sadly I do not. read more

Lamp post is your run-of-the-mill pizza joint in Davis. They do a great job of offering coupons and deals, which sometimes entices me to eat here with some friends when we are craving pizza. However, I feel that they use very low quality cheese on their pizza, which in turn produces a very greasy pizza, which in turn makes my stomach hurt. They have a bunch of T.V's around their seating area, which is nice. Overall, even though I live pretty close to this place, I would much prefer taking the drive to Steve's Pizza for their legendary breadsticks or Village for a better pie. read more

I loved coming to this place for pizzas during my years at Davis. Even though it is slightly out of the way being in West Davis and all, it has some seriously good combos that definitely hit home on flavor and portions. I've eaten most of them and they all are full of ingredients and a great, thick, fluffy crust. There are a couple TVs around for watching sports games, and the workers there were always very friendly towards groups of people. If you have an event for a class or group, they'll even reserve the back section of booths just for you. And in the past when we've ordered a lot of different pizzas, they'll give us a bulk order discount which really helps out. All in all, delicious and leaves my stomach very happy, and definitely bloated. Honestly, I've been wanting to try this place for a while! One of my late-night habits is going on Yelp and seeing which food places deliver and this is definitely one of them! Boyfriend and I came on a Monday, and luckily for us, this place had their 10% off deals on Mondays and Tuesdays. We got a 14" pepperoni pizza and an order of garlic bread. I meant to order the cheese bread(?) but I didn't see it on the menu, but I didn't regret it at all! Garlic bread was delicious and had a lovely crunch with it. The pizza was delicious as well! It was a little pricey for my taste, which is probably the only thing that would prevent me from coming back. We ordered garlic bread, the 14" pizza, and shared a regular fountain drink which came out to be $25. It's a little more expensive than ordering delivery from Domino's - so I suppose you're paying for the quality. The cashier was extremely friendly and the interior was very "bar-like." Had large screen TVs hanging alongside the walls and booths as tables. It was pretty empty when we got here but I would assume they would be packed during game-days. I'd definitely come here again just to try the appetizers, but as I've mentioned before, I'm a college student on a budget and the prices make me cry a little. Appetizers are pretty cheap though, so that's a plus. If you're feeling slightly cheap, come here for the wings or the garlic bread and just skip the $15+ pizza. read more
