I needed a specific glass lamp shade that my young daughter had accidently broken. Jacqui answered the phone when I called to see if they could help me find a replacement shade. She was so knowledgeable and professional. She immediately knew what lamp I was describing and she let me know that she had a replacement and to come down to the store. I was so surprised because I had visited a different Lamps Plus store and the associates there were not very helpful. They didn't know what kind of shade I needed and told me to go online and search. When I arrived at Jacqui's store location she was prepared for my visit and brought out the exact lamp shade I needed. I was beyond impressed! I've bought many lighting fixtures through the years from Lamps Plus, but not always from this location. So this review is based solely on customer service because as far as light fixtures they do have a lot of nice items. I came here to purchase all our basement light fixtures since we are currently finishing our basement. A lady walks up to me and ask: "are you looking or buying?" Uh my answer is well i'm looking and if I find something I would buy it. What am I suppose to just buy stuff w/o looking??? Then she goes on to show me what they have online, and totally not my taste. I even kept telling her I could look online at home. She was being super pushy and showing me her styles that she liked. Umm in my head i'm thinking are we looking for you or for me? I tell her i'm just going to look around the store, and finally she's like good luck and walks away, but she rolled her eyes, and her attitude shows that she didn't mean that. Pushy, unprofessional sales person that lost a client. I was prepared to spend a couple grand since we had to buy pool table lights, pendant lights, sconces, room fixtures etc. read more

Last week I went into the store looking for mirrors. It was very busy -- but mostly people standing around waiting for the two sales people to get to them. I sat in a chair for nearly 30 minutes, so while at it, I started price shopping for the mirrors I was looking for. I finally was able to round someone up, but they don't carry inventory, so he got on the internet and ordered the mirrors for me (something I could have done from home, but that was fine). I received the mirrors but one of them has a crack in the mirror (still fine - things happen). I called the store to request that they order another mirror for me and I will return the damaged one. I was placed on hold for 30 minutes because she needed to get me a sales representative. No one ever came back on the phone to acknowledge that I was still holding (and I had now memorized all of their commercials). I hung up and called again and again and again and again. The phone rang and rang and rang, etc. The reason for this review is that this retailer expects us, the customer, who in my case spent ($444.00) on two mirrors to stand around and wait for their minimum wage employees (only two working on a weekend) to get to us. It is a huge insult that this Retailer doesn't think my time is valuable and that I have nothing to do but stand around on my dayoff redialing over and over again to try to get customer service. I will probably have to drive all the way down there and wait for my turn because, Lamps Plus doesn't think their customers time is valuable! read more

I had a good experience with this store and the Sales Representative Patrick Magreevy. I bought some bar chairs that were on sale, and Patrick did a find job helping complete the transaction. I sent him an email the next day asking about a part for an existing light fixture, and he responded the same day that he would work with the manufacturer to see if he could get the part I needed. I spoke with Patrick Magreevy regarding my kitchen lighting project. Patrick was very kind, courteous and very professional. I showed him a picture of the area that I wanted to add a light fixture and he suggested track lighting. I gave him the dimensions and we purchased the Pro Track with LED lighting. A wonderful product, we don't need an electrician to install it. It is a consumer friendly installation and we were very pleased the price. Patrick explained a step by step process regarding our wattage choices. Lamps Plus is very lucky to have someone like Patrick who is so loyal and dedicated to providing Extra Ordinary Customer Service. Lamps Plus has a great showroom, but it hasn't been as good a place to buy. I initially thought the information provided during 2 visits was very helpful. Unfortunately the product information was incomplete & the shipping information was inaccurate by several weeks...still waiting. A few minutes on-line answered all the questions I didn't know to ask about the product. Calls, messages & emails about product return & shipping of the replacement purchase have resulted in only 1 return call, & that was from someone unrelated to the purchase. My experience has given me greater insight & appreciation for the shift to on-line purchases. read more

We just moved from California and was ecstatic when we found this Lamps Plus. It was a little far but worth the drive. I was looking for a items for a new house and had some questions. I ran into Alex, one of the salesmen there, and he proceeded to help my husband and with questions about ceiling fans. He was very helpful and informative and gave us information to make a good buying decision. Then I saw a beautiful mirror that I absolutely had to have! I asked him some questions about it but didn't buy it then. However, my husband later agreed that it would look beautiful above our fireplace and the next day I ordered it over the phone. Guess who I asked for so he could get the sale? Alex, of course. We've gone in since then and we always see him. My background is in customer service and marketing so my standards are high. This store has a nice variety of merchandise, but no one to wait on customers. I was in the store at 2 pm on a Thursday. I only saw one sales person who was waiting on another customer. Needless to say, no one asked to help me with my lampshade selection. I had some questions but went ahead & made a selection. After waiting at the counter for at least 15 minutes to pay for these items & without another sales person in sight, I gave up & left. read more

Over years I have shopped Lamps Plus many times and had great experiences there. Always someone around to ask if I need help. Sure, their fixtures may seem expensive but quality fixtures are expensive no matter where one shops. I have shopped the "Box" stores until I am blue in the face, but always found things that were not up to par--prices may be good, but quality suffers. read more

I went in yesterday and got great service again. I was very happy to see that Mark was working, cause he helped me last time I was in there. I explained to him what I was looking for, and he took me right to what I wanted, answered all my questions, and is very knowledgeable about lighting, which is a great thing when trying to decide on a light. I could tell they were busy, but he didn't let it take away from the excellent service he gave me and had a smile on his face the whole time. I love this place! always have a great selection and everyone is very friendly. They carry lamps... PLUS other random things, like mailboxes or picnic baskets! The stock in-store however was a little on the low side but the saleswoman said it was because it was towards the end of the week and they only get one truck on monday...understandable. So we just ordered the items and it only took a week to arrive...no biggy. Whats even better is they also offer a free one year warranty! Again i love this place, deffinetly give lp a try. read more

We had a totally opposite experience from the negative reviews I just saw. We took in an old lamp to find a lamp shade. While their selection wasn't as large as I hoped it might be, it was fairly decent, and the quality was definitely much better than shades available at Target, World Market, etc., with prices comparable to such places. An associate came to help us, not immediately, but within a reasonable amount of time, and as soon as she saw us obviously looking around. The place is so crowded with lighting Fixtures that it's hard to see very far in the store. The woman helping us was a good salesperson in all the positive connotations of that word. After trying many shades and her making some suggestions and trying various brackets to hold the shade, we found one that worked well. She also helped us pick out a new finial for the lamp, as the original was broken. While she was good at selling, we felt no pressure, and we both left feeling good about the experience. Plus, at home and in place, the lamp and shade look lovely, much better than they did in-store. read more

I went here about a week ago to pick up a few light bulbs and order additional lighting for my place. I walked around for about 5 minutes before I had to find someone to help with my needs. I luckily got to speak with the assistant manager, Eric Fairchild which I thought was great. I brought everything I needed and let him know I need these exact light bulbs and simply wanted to order more lighting for a wire piece in my place. I thought by taking down each piece I needed would give him the exact item to make my experience better and easier for him to find. He placed my order and gave me light bulbs.... I got home to change my light bulbs out only to find he gave me the wrong ones. As I live about 30 minutes away I was quiet frustrated I had to drive all the way back to correct his error. Just today I received the order he had placed for me and they were the WRONG ones yet again. Not only do I have to fix his error again I have to wait longer to ship back the misplaced order and wait for another shipment. As I called the store right away to let them know what had happened they stated they cannot help I would need to wait until business hours to call their customer service line. I would not recommend his help to anyone. Very upsetting experience!! read more
