I found a wall sconce I was interested in on their website. Website said it was available in the store. I drove across town to the store hoping to see the light before purchase. No such luck. There is so much competition that there is no need to go to a place that does not value their customers and are unreasonable. On 2/1/19, my mother and I went in and found a chandelier we liked, but I wanted to think on it a day or two longer because I was looking at another one online. I scheduled my electrician to come out the following 2/9/219 to install the electrical and the light. On 2/6/19, I went to pick up the chandelier. However, once we got there, we were told, for the FIRST TIME, that they did not carry ANY of their lamps in stock and that I would have to order it. If I wanted it before my electrician came, I would have to pay an extra $100 or I could wait a week. I was also offered the display, but it was going to cost me the same, NO discount. Then, to top that off, I would not be able to return it. Who thought this would be a good business plan? Had I known all of this in advance, I could have planned ahead and either bought the lamp during my first visit, bought the one online, or scheduled my electrician for a different day. read more

This company is the Ebola of lighting stores. They kill their customers through scams and by ignoring your requests. My most recent adventure entailed me calling up the Colorado Blvd location up about a particular lamp which they said "oh sure, we have that in stock, we'll put it aside for you". When I got there, the "in stock" item turned out to be something off their sales floor (or a return?) they had the audacity to pass off as new. How do I know it was used? Well, a splatter pattern of, what looked like coke baked on the inside of the bulb area (holder, wires) despite being wrapped in plastic, UV yellowing of the white wire, scuff marks, and, oh yeah, no box. They never would admit to me that this unit was not new but, trust me, it was as obvious as a mile-long length of extruded poop dangling from an overfed goldfish. So then they said "oh ok, well use our computer to order a new one online". Ok, fine, so I ordered the light (so, why did I come in!?) Then, I got to the big check box that said "I want to receive e-mails from the company", I unchecked the box. So what happened next? I start getting DAILY emails from their "55 Downing Street" subsidiary. Needless to say I have tried unsubscribing *twice* now without sufficient luck. I would rather forge and build my own lights and deal with these jokers again. Avoid these people like the plague. read more

When the lamp arrived the shade was broken so I took it back to the store for a return/refund. The sad thing is that I was charged a restocking fee of $5.00. Does that even make sense?!?! In a day and age where customer service is severely lacking these guys are amazing. We bought a ceiling light on Sunday finally got the light wired and installed Tuesday and once we unwrapped the light found out a light was broken called them right away they actually pulled a light from the floor model so our light was fully functioning. I'm very pleased with not only the customer service but also their pricing you must shop Lamps plus if your checking Lowe's or Home Depot for lighting go to Lamps Plus you won't be disappointed the pricing is excellent and quality is excellent. While remodeling our kitchen, we realized we'd need some ceiling-mount fixtures in an area where we were unable to put recessed lighting (stupid ceiling joists!) - and oh by the way, we needed them TODAY because the electrician was returning TOMORROW to install them. After hours of internet searches resulting in perfect fixtures that were online-only or not available in store, I finally remembered Lamps Plus! I've driven past this store for years, its exciting collage of lighting fixtures pleading for me to come admire them... finally I had a reason to venture inside. I visited the website first, perused the online selection, and requested in-store availability for a few lights (ahem, 9 different lights). That was a very nice feature - you send an electronic request with your phone number, and someone calls you back within 10 minutes. The employee that called me back was very helpful in telling me that none of the ones I liked were in stock, and while that was irritating, I also appreciated being able to rule out different options before I got to the store and wasted time trying to find them. In the store itself, to say it was overwhelming might be a little bit of an understatement. It's got lights and lamps and mirrors and fans and knick-knacks all over the place, grouped by like-type (versus by room type, i.e. bathroom or kitchen). I wasn't expecting that, but it was kind of nice that all the track lights were in one place, all the pendants in another, etc. I picked out a fixture, asked how much it cost, and confirmed that I wanted two, after I took a lap around and didn't find anything better. Ten minutes later, when this employee and her coworker were still unable to locate these lights (which the computer system said they did have in stock), they gave up and asked if there was anything else I liked. I was irritated, but luckily I had found something else - you know, in the ten minutes I had waiting for them to return empty-handed. They did have those too (and knew where they were, bonus!), and they were even on sale - which really made everything worthwhile in my book. The selection here is overwhelming, but quite comprehensive - and I definitely see myself returning when I'm in the market for a new ceiling fan, Tiffany-style lamp, decorative mirror, or some other lighting solution. These are quality products (at "quality prices" if you know what I mean), but definitely worth your time to stop in if you are shopping for nice (or even nice-ish) things for your home. read more

A store. That sells lamps. And lamp related things. This is a place that exists. I am not positive why it exists. I guess lamps are a necessity. They definitely are in our old house, which has no overhead lighting. But I've always just bought my lamps from places like Target, or maybe a furniture store. And now here we are, planning a wedding, and we want a certain type of lamp. Googled it. Found it on the Lamps Plus website. And here we are. We wandered around the whole store, of course, before we found our lamps in the last available place to look, so we got to take in a lot of lamps. Big lamps, small lamps, expensive lamps, cheap lamps. Nobody ever really came up to help us figure out where our lamps would be, but once we found them, someone said "Need any help?" Impeccable timing. They didn't have enough of the lamps we needed, but they ordered more to the store and gave us the sale price on all of them. The service, once we got it, was friendly and knowledgeable. This place does what it says on the box. If you're a lamp fanatic, or you're looking for a specific type of lamp, go ahead and stop in. I can guaran-frickin-tee you that you will not find more lamps per square footage anywhere in the world. read more

Lamps Plus is great! I had never been in there and decided to at least take a peak. There are so many options and pricing was reasonable. Patrick is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I walked out with two great lamps and candle holders for better prices than placing them together from different stores with a 60 day return if I change my mind! Ummm. Where do I start? First off, the layout is totally cluttered and off. While there have been many employees the couple of times I have gone in, it like walking through a corn maze trying to find them. The checkout desk is tucked away in an area that just doesn't work for me. If it sounds like I am being nitpicky, then I probably am. I will say that the credit card Point of Sale system was another burr in my saddle. Perhaps it was operator error on the part of the employee or the card holder, but it seemed like an antiquated sysytem in need of repair. On the positive side, the woman who helped me was nice and went out of her way to find what I was looking for (devil on my shoulder says, "That's what they're supposed to do."). Anyway, perhaps it's my OCD that just prefers a little more organization in my stores. Next time around I might have a great experience. Or I might get lost in the maze. read more

Extremely pleased with customer service. I ordered two great torcheres that arrived quickly. One did not work and in the process of trying out bulbs and switches and outlets I broke the glass shade. I was totally bummed.. When I called customer service to figure out to replace the non-working lamp and explained that I broke the shade, the agent cheerfully just ordered a new one without charging me for the shade and took me through the repacking process. I was able to run the old lamp to my local store which was very easy and the new lamp just arrived in perfect condition. Great service, relieved and pleased with my new lamps. read more

This place has sooo many neat home decor items, majority of it exactly my style. If I ever redid a bathroom or any fixtures in my home I could see myself getting alot of items here. Id have a challenge picking light fixtures or lamps because they were all so sexy! With that said I would have a hard time giving this place my money. I love Lamps Plus's selection, however service I personally received left much to be desired. Went to the Colorado BLVD location to buy two outside lights and a lamp and we weren't acknowledged once in 45 minutes. I watched people around me, literally within arms reach of me being greeted and helped - we never were and left. Sad. read more

I keep going back here because they have a lot of lighting to browse. Today was a typical experience, though. I called on the phone for a specific type of lamp cover, hoping to confirm if they had it before making a trip. The person told me, bring the lamp in, it's easier if you just try them on here. We have a lot of what you are looking for. Click. We're talking a 5 foot brass floor lamp. I drove down there, without the lamp but with the measurements. Needless to say, they did not have a single one in stock. A prior experience was having them talk me into having a sale person show up at my house.....only to take off work and the guy didn't show. I found a great deal on a close out item with slight damage. The place seems to be running a million miles an hour in multiple different directions at once, but overall I'm happy with the service I received here. I had been looking for a special lamp to replace the one in my office, so I saw Lamps Plus and thought "why not see what they have?" Well, they have a lot. I think this company is probably one of the best in it's business. Every conceivable type of light fixture is available and I'm sure they have reams of catalogs to browse through if the floor stock isn't to your liking. Items in store look cheaper and less quality than they do online. Service is horrible. Took forever to get help by an associate and even when one tried to help us he had no clue what we wanted even after explaining it to him a couple of times. For example we have one ceiling light in our dark bathroom so we needed fixture that would give a good amount of light. All the associate kept talking about was a vanity light over our mirror. Which we don't have. Nor are we getting one. He kept saying as soon as you get a vanity light come see me. Needless to say we didn't find anything at the store and I won't be back. Instead we went down the street to Urban Lights on Santa fe. They have a great showroom and selection for all tastes and styles. We were assisted and bought a beautiful light for our bathroom ceiling. We will be back to get more lights for the house soon! read more

Labor Day weekend I purchased 4 ceiling fans and 3 exterior light fixtures. Andre was very helpful and took the time to answer all my questions and complete my purchase in a timely manner. When my electrician installed one of the fans it stopped working after a couple of minutes. I called the store to see what needed to be done and was told to bring the fan in and have it tested. I brought the fan back yesterday and the motor was "fried", which after talking to Eric concluded that this could have been the fault of the electrician. I said I wanted to buy a new fan. Eric was very generous and as a result his efforts saved me $200 on the purchase. I will be back again to update additional lamps and fixtures for the house. read more

This location is just OK. It's a fairly small store with too much tacky stuff packed in and not enough of the nicer fixtures you can find online. Regardless, we did find some fixtures we liked. They were on sale, we bought them, and they were shipped to our house for free. The guy who helped us was nice and tried hard, but he was new so our transaction look longer than it probably should have. I'm not dinging him or the store for that. Met up with their lighting consultant, Heather Winner. Wow! Our home looks so updated and fresh now with the new lighting, artwork and furniture. Previously, I only thought they sold lighting. Heather worked with us in her low key manner to help us to make our home look more contemporary, which was our goal. When we asked her opinion on what she thought, if we had trouble choosing things, she would always give it but not in any pushy way. She won us both over to trust her design sense and our home certainly looks like a different, and more lovely, place. I really recommend their design services and want to give a big thumbs up to Heather. Her approach and design expertise have transformed our home. Customer Service is definitely lacking in this establishment. Sure, they have good prices, and a pretty little showroom, but this place has cost my boyfriends remodeling business, and me personally more money, time and headache in the past month than you would believe. First, my boyfriend, who is a remodeling contractor, had picked up a fixture that his client had picked out, which was over 2k for her kitchen in Breckenridge. Upon installation, it was discovered that the fixture had a faulty transformer. These things happen, yes, BUT the way the whole thing was handled was absolutely laughable. First, a sales associate told him to bring in the transformer and they would just switch it out. He sent an employee (from Breckenridge) down to Denver to pick it up, only to be told by an assistant manager that "due to liability" they could not just switch it out with another transformer, but would need to special order a new transformer for the fixture. He was then told the part would be ready to pick up by the end of the week, and someone would call. No one called. He called them and was put on hold. Indefinitely. He drove down to get the part the following week. Still not there. At this point, he requests that they have the part shipped to Breckenridge, since now numerous trips have been made down the mountain to pick up the part. They agree that is no problem at all. The following week he is informed that the part has arrived in the store and is ready for pick-up. They can't ship it to Breckenridge. Oops. So, I drive over there from our house in Denver to pick it up, and drive it up to Breckenridge. Good times. Then, on top of all of that - prior to all of the issues with his client, my boyfriend and I had purchased two light fixtures to install in our own kitchen. We just installed them today - a kitchen chandelier, and a track light over the countertop. Ten minutes after the track light was installed and turned on, while two people were working in the kitchen, one of the bulbs (THAT CAME WITH THE FIXTURE) exploded and shattered glass blew out into the kitchen. Grateful that my children were not present, I called Lamps Plus to ask them whether this is a common occurrence, and whether I can bring in these bulbs and get a different brand as I would like for this NOT to happen again. After being put on hold, then being told that they would call me back (which, to their credit, they did), I was told that the bulbs that COME WITH THE FIXTURE are only really test bulbs that come from China, and that is why they always suggest purchasing their bulbs when you buy a fixture (WHICH THEY DIDN'T). I was politely told that their suggestion was to come back in and purchase their bulbs which have a one year warranty. Really? Maybe it's just me, but I am thinking when a light bulb that comes with a product explodes, there might be a little bit more of a customer oriented response. Perhaps if it would have exploded in my 3-year old's face the outcome would have been different? While I am certainly glad this was not the case, I hope that it doesn't happen to anyone else in the future. Service like this does not deserve repeat business regardless of the discounts they have. I am waiting in a line 8 people deep wanting to buy stuff but there is no cashier. When I told the two gentlemen chatting in the back there was a line. They told me that they were on the phone (pointing to a ringing phone that neither of them were on) and for me to wait. 20 mins later no cashier and a few guys on the floor helping customers pick out lamps. When the fixture I purchased was installed one of the four light sockets didn't work. Upon calling the store and holding for over five minutes, the "manger" Mark finally came on the line. (This wait was far shorter than the wait in the store for employee help....that took over 15 minutes, when employees were talking in the back room.) His lack of customer service and solutions was amazing. I now have to wait two days for the store manager Mike to call me back. I purchased four fans from this store in July of this year and paid an installer to come out to install these fans. Mind you this installer that I hired had been installing fans for over 15 years and had the requisite ability to install all types of fans. The first three fans went up quite easily and we found the fourth fan to be faulty. After contacting Lamps Plus, they sent out one of their own installers to replace the faulty fan. Their installer also found the fan they brought out was faulty and stated this happens with other models they have in stock and to contact the store and have them send him out again. After talking with manager, he informed me that the "wiring" of my home was the issue and there were no issues with the fans sent, which is in direct conflict with his own installer, who came out to install the faulty fan. He stated they would send someone out again to make sure it is was not a fan issue. I have now left four messages with this "manager" (if that is what you can call him) with no return calls on a new install time. Not to mention I have had to take time off work during the initial install as well the call back install due to their poor products. The customer service of this business is truly poor. I have never provided a review on Yelp and never planned too, however, due to warning others of using this store and the lack of customer service that you will experience drove me to actually take more time out of my day to make this review. I implore you to go to any other store that actually cares about the customers that purchase products from them. read more
