My husband and I have been using Lamps Plus for our lighting needs for over a year. Last week we were just in there for bulbs. Desiree Parish was helping us. It took a long time to find exactly what we wanted but Desiree treated us as if we were buying an expensive fixture. After spending $2.14 we went home and we were back the next week to buy a floor lamp. Again Desiree spent approximately 45 minutes with us showing us different possibilities. We left saying we would be thinking about it. We never got the feeling that Desiree was upset that we hadn't made up our minds. Returned the following day, she spent more time with us and we found a lamp that wasn't even in the running. But, because of Desiree's patience and incredible knowledge we bought something that we LOVE!! read more

If you wonder why you'd ever go to a physical store when everything is available online nowadays, Lamps Plus manager Ario is why (on Morena Blvd).  I bought two ceiling fans, same model, from the store.  Got them home and installed them, but the instructions were very unclear about how to reverse the direction of the fans.  Called the store for assistance and got put through to Ario.  I've never met Ario face to face because he was promoted to manager after I bought the fans, but he made it clear that my satisfaction was his top priority.  It was not easy, but he tapped into the expertise available through the company and figured out how to reverse the direction.  He was very caring and dedicated.  Lamps Plus has the right guy managing the store. read more

I was in the store and I might say I do buy most all my bulbs from Lamps Plus, but today was very strange, and I left with an awful feeling that this could be the last time I go to the store. I will go to another Lamps Plus, if I need bulbs. I was there at approximately 4:00 Sunday Mar 26. The sales lady whom helped me spoke very little English, which was fine, but, it took so long to explain what I wanted as far as a bulb. I must have explained to her 4 times to screw my bulb in and compare some other bulbs that I was interested in purchasing. This back and forth was ridiculous.......she then walked away, not sure why and a gentleman walked over to offer help. He looked at my bulb and said we don't carry that bulb, which I know, I just wanted to know the wattage and/or perhaps compare to another bulb not as bright. He pretty much said where I bought the bulb is the bestplace, I told him it was closed, and he said too bad. The original sales lady came back with bulbs, and again, I wanted her to screw my bulb in and compare the new ones to mine. The same thing, not understanding what I wanted and I finally bought a bulb that I think will work. He then told the sales gal to ring it up and is sure she can handle it, very degrading in my opinion. Not a good experience....... read more

When I'm purchasing a lightbulb I explained to the guy I wanted the brightest shade ever existed . I often repeated that I have no idea about lightbulbs or lumens and I needed his help to get the brightness led lights. He has been very helpful but he didn't know how to say I don't know. He sold me the lightbulb just about 10% more brighter than when I brought it to him. And also I purchased LED mirrors and I ask for if it is plug-in and he said yes it is now I can see you after my delivery my mirror comes with just cables and I have to pay for electrician. Please just don't just waste your time in the store and go to Home Depot to speak to someone that knows what they're talking about. The funny thing when I return my lightbulbs or recessed light I said (after doing my research) these are not the brightest colors that I asked for. He told me these are the brightest available in his shop. Don't be money hungry if you don't have something you should recommend me to someone or say I don't have. Ordering those lightbulbs and recessed lights Took about a week and now I return of them and have to order from somewhere else and that will take about a week and they make me lose two weeks of work because I cannot work without the lights after 4 pm. Again do not waste your time or the money go to somewhere else and don't believe in their advisements. read more

We came to Lamps Plus to look at pendant lights but ended up buying several buddha statues that were on sale. Am I seriously writing another review of lamps plus? yes i know...this makes 3 now. as i write this i am slowing transforming into a decorative lamp...with a frilly shade and a bangin' leg. actually, the lamp from a christmas story is probably the only lamp Lamps Plus doesnt carry... anyway, i like this store; it has treated me right. ive bought a ceiling fan and a chandelier from here and have been pretty happy with the purchases and the price I paid for the quality. i was told that this location has poor customer service. abSOLutely not. I received great customer service from the initial visit (seriously got treated to one-on-one service as a tried to locate the right items) to resolving a defective receiver in my ceiling fan that went out a week after install. speaking on that note...so I was pretty much livid after the ceiling fan light decided to turn on and never turn back off (its the remote-only kind). I spoke to multiple people on the phone - always friendly and helpful - came into the store, and eventually spoke to the manager about it. I hadn't used Lamps Plus for the installation (something like $80) so I knew I was gonna be given a hard time about it and the claim it was a bad install. Well...don't get on Heather's bad side. I think I was firm but fair in demanding that they make things right for me given the amount of money I'd spent, the fan only being in use A WEEK and being their house brand...not to mention the fan part was working fine. The manager agreed to have their contracted electricians out to do the swap (as long as it really was the receiver, otherwise I would be charged). It was arranged, I got the call to schedule it, and they were able to come out Sat. morning to fix it (about a 2 day turnaround). By the way, it WAS the receiver. My fan now turns off and on as it should and I'm a happy camper (the best Heather to be around). Only gripe I have is there were multiple things that had to be ordered and they have some idiotic system of not correctly recording your phone number. I'd call to check in on things and they would be like 'oh its here but we didnt have any phone number listed to call." Um...ok I DID provide it, saw it on the sheet, and why the hell would you ever place an order without a way to get ahold of the person? But thats just a minor annoyance. All I know is I dealt with a lot of grief in my purchasing experience and Lamps Plus on Morena came through in resolving everything. That is what a good business does, and that is why I will continue to be their customer. Still waiting for the frilly leg lamp to be in stock. I got a corner window with it's name on it. read more

Went in close to closing time on a Saturday and the employees were happy to help us. I went in thinking I was going to purchase a particular style of ceiling light and came out with something completely different but elegant. Their associate Jack was very kind and friendly. He gave us (my mom and I) time to look around. He was very knowledgeable about the displays and answered all my questions. You come in, you browse for a long time, there is no one that vaguely cares you are there. 3 sellers that are too busy to help anyone. People are sitting down waiting for someone to even acknowledge them. No one seems to care . It's a two story big store, where you usually need someone to help you with decisions about wattage, lighting, and there is no one to help you. Terrible customer service. . My husband and I are notorious for drive to multiple stores looking for home furnishings that we don't like. It takes for ever. Until...we went to Lamps Plus on Moreno Blvd. Emry welcomed us in, and went right to work!! She's VERY personable, friendly, asked our style preference, and looked at pictures of the rooms we were decorating. She took the time to know her clients. We only wanted to purchase 2 ceiling fans at the beginning. By the time she was done educating us about the products and how they worked...we walked out with 5 ceiling fans, and a beautiful water fountain for the living room. We spent more then planned, but it was well worth it! Emry remembered we had one more fan we were gonna wait on, but she emailed me pictures fans she knew I'd like. I purchased, and once again.. My certified pro sales agent Mitchell  was so courteous from the first time I bought a brushed nickel bath light. I went back to the store again a couple of weeks later, and wanted to buy another set of the same bath light, because it looks gorgeous in my new bathroom. But Mitchell told me that they were out of stock, he could order online and ship directly to me in about 2 days, and there are no shipping and handling fees. Lo and behold, it showed up on my front door exactly 2 days! The store is open 7 days a week! I also noticed everyone there wants to help you as soon as you step into the store. I had no idea a store could be this helpful and on it as this location of LampsPlus on Morena. I have walked in there 3 times now, and each time the staff has been 100% awesome. Totally helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Ronnie takes the cake on best customer service ever. He is the nicest, coolest guy ever. He even actually recognized me (with a mask!) when I cam back 2 weeks later to do a return. He initially ordered what I wanted and had it sent to my house, then took the return in the store. Wow... what a difference between this store and the La Mesa store. No comparison!!! Management here actually cares about customer service and making them happy as opposed to making lame excuses. Ronnie was an incredible help making sure I was taken care of with a minor issue and the store manager acted promptly to rectify the situation. I bought a gorgeous lighting fixture for my bathroom to later have an issue where it burned out on one side and doesn't use a 'replaceable bulb.' I spoke with a lady at customer service, Deborah, who went out of her way to assist me in getting a replacement fixture to exchange. Considering the Covid 19 I am a lifetime Lamps Plus customer. For them to give back beyond a standard policy, in times like these, they have won my loyalty forever. I love all of my fixtures from them. Companies like Lamps Plus will endure. I would like to thank Mick Cafolla - right off the the bat. By far some the best customer service I have had anywhere. A mistake was made in my original purchase and he made sure it was taken care of and serviced and just went beyond the call of duty. James was great- answered the phone most often and reliable and professional. Its a well run store my only comment would be new management can be brought up to speed before calling customers - communication is key.
