I was looking online for an indoor fountain for my meditation space. I found several that I liked on the Lamps Plus site. I stopped in today at the brick and mortar retail store and had the pleasure of meeting the sales associate, Michael. He was extremely helpful about indoor fountains and knowledgeable about his inventory. There was an unpriced fountain I liked and he immediately was able to obtain the price and even filled it with water to demonstrate how it worked! I was impressed with his customer-focused approach to selling. Michael is an asset to the company, and a good human being. If there is an employee award or recognition that Lamps Plus bestows upon outstanding customer service associates, Michael certainly has my vote! read more

Great stock of lovely lamps. But the staff are rude and stand offish. I went in to buy a floor lamp, could not refund the model I was looking for ( even though the website said it was in stock) and asked a member of staff if she would help me when she finished with the customer she was dealing with. She said yes then never reappeared. Later I walked up to the lady at the cashier and asked i f they also sold the bases they proudly display their beautiful lamps on ( I saw some concrete bases were nearly $200 each and so heavy) and I wanted one of the lighter fabric ones but they had no price. Her reply was short and stand offish..no those are not for sale. I just got fed up and went to world market and bought a beautiful lamp there. Their staff were so much friendlier, helped me test the lamps, put them in stands to see how they looked....helped me download a coupon online so I could get 15 percent off. Never going back to Lamps.plus. read more

We knew that we wanted monorail lighting, as we had it in another home. We received an installation bid from our contractor that seemed high, and they would only install once a separate lighting consultant drew up plans at a hefty hourly price. Since we'd had some experience in the past, we decided to try to do it ourselves and went to Lamps Plus. Within a minute of our entering the story, the salesperson, Joei, began explaining our options and showing us the Tech Lighting catalogs. Joei took our rough drawings, inquired about the styles we liked in the catalog, and then wanted to discuss the lighting with her colleague, Dalia (who now manages the La Mesa location). A few days later, Joei, Dalia and the Lamps Plus installer, Art, came to our home to look at the space and make suggestions. A week later, they came up with a quote which was very reasonable and within our budget. They were also very helpful and responsive as we were working on additional lights such as ceiling fixtures and bathroom sconces. They asked great questions and recommended perfect solutions. Before our remodel, the space was fairly dark and unwelcoming. now, it is bright and homey. In fact, our building manager came to our unit and thought it was so bright that we had added windows, which of course would have been impossible! I would highly recommend Lamps Plus for your lighting projects. The team is great, the products high quality, and the prices affordable. read more

Exceptional customer service at Lamps Plus compelled me to share my experience. Two bedside lamps were ordered at the store and would be shipped to me directly since they did not have stock at the store available. Confirmation and tracking numbers were sent once the items shipped. Upon receiving delivery confirmation via Fed Ex tracking that the shipment was left on the front door, I arrived home within the hour to an empty front door. Spent a bit of time with Fed Ex on the phone trying to track where the package was delivered to, but in the end I was left a bit unsatisfied as my claim was closed since it tracked delivered. Called customer service at Lamps Plus and explained the situation. The lady that helped was very sweet and friendly and apologized for the lost shipment. I'm not sure where customer service was located, but when she learned I was in San Diego she raved about a few food places here. She immediately rushed replacement Lamps to me which were delivered within a few days. Satisfied customer and will likely be purchasing an upcoming floor lamp here as well. read more

I had to replace the shades on two lamps, and arrived with one of the shades to find its replacement. Margarita met me as soon as I walked in, introduced herself, and took me to the shade department part of the store. We found the perfect replacement, and was in and out in a few minutes due to her help. If you need lamps, shades, fans or anything they offer, I would recommend shopping here. Went today to get replacement light bulbs for various lighting fixtures. Margarita at the front desk was super helpful working with me to get through the three sets of lights I needed. I spent a lot of time at this store in 2016 when we did a remodel and ended up buying a lot of light fixtures from LP both in person and online. Everything I purchased has held up over time and being able to see it in person often made a huge difference. I highly recommend both the store and the people working there. Also I like their light bulb selection especially when it comes to bulbs that are visible such as Edison-style bulbs. read more

I am writing to give a "shout out" to Emry for her service at Lamps Plus. I live in North Carolina and own a condominium in San Diego. I recently had the challenging task of changing out a ceiling light fixture in my condominium without being there. I called Lamps Plus, where I had originally purchased the fixture and had the good fortune that Emry picked up my call. She was able to help me figure out that the original fixture could not be repaired and provided several suitable substitutes. She kept in touch via phone or e-mail and within a week a new light fixture was shipped to my condo for installation. Great service and my tenant is very pleased with the new light fixture! The Morena Lamps Plus store is by far the best lighting and the best Lamps Plus store. The manager, Matt Breeding, went out of his way to obtain parts for a broken glass on a sconch light that was 9 years old, and parts for two bar stools that were 4 years old. The staff that did the repair work, after receiving the parts, knew how to repair the bar stools, very knowledgable. Their overall service was great. I would highly recommend them. read more

We came to Lamps Plus on Morena to buy a chandelier, ceiling fan and pendant -- with a pretty clear idea of what we were looking for. I had printouts from the Lamps Plus website! We felt totally ignored by salespeople even though there was only one other customer at the store. We also felt like we couldn't get a good look at any of the lighting because most of it was stocked with ugly fluorescent bulbs, and/or was crammed together. Some models were totally busted. We wandered around confused for 30 minutes and eventually got so frustrated we left. As we left, the salesperson thanked us for coming in and told us to have a nice day. That's great, but where was she when we were looking for help? We went to the Lamps Plus location in La Mesa and had a much better experience and bought what we were looking for there. read more

I went back and forth with the mouse on whether I should give them a 1 or 2 star rating, but because of the deceptive nature of their reviews of their website I must give them 1 star. Bought a pair of nickel wall lamps for the bedroom and we loved the look of them. We could not find anything like them anywhere else. They were each $120+tax. After a year and a half, the dimmer switch goes out. I call them and they do not sell the dimmer switch separately. They tell me I have to buy another new one or call a local shop to have the switch replaced. I do that, but the switch has a unique micro-board to control the electricity going to the halogen bulb. Local shop cannot fix it so that the dimming feature works. I write a review on their website months ago about this experience and of course they don't post it. Don't believe anything you read on their website: www.lampsplus.com Also, many of these great reviews on Yelp seem to be seeded from LampsPlus employees. They sound like a commercial. read more

= FIVE stars for the items at this store = TWO stars for customer service This store is a pretty cool store to shop at however their customer service is nonexistent. Maybe it's just this location (I hope so). I walked in one afternoon to look for a lamp for our living-room. Although they have a great selection of amazing items - the prices here are pretty high and they barely have any discounts or sale. I had my eye on one lamp but there was no one around so I was like ok - I am going to order the lamp online as they offer a free delivery. A couple of weeks later I was in that area again and decided to stop by and check out their "sale sale". There was again no one in the store...very quite.... Only one customer rep was talking to the customer - that's it. One rep for the entire floor, actually they have 2 floors. Ended up buying the chandelier I wanted but oh geez - the customer service is not so great. read more

We ordered two pendant lights on Amazon/Lamps Plus and one came broken and one of them didn't work in any of our ceiling wires. So we had to have them send replacement glass on one and got the other refunded. They weren't really sold anywhere else, believe me, I looked everywhere online. So even though I had a bad experience, we still wanted the pendants. I decided to get them in store so I couldn inspect them. I called ahead and spoke with Avel, and he had them ready for me. He let me inspect that they were not broken and he even tested them in store with the bulb in to make sure they work. Not only this but he talked about how much he loves his job. I mean, who does that any more in customer service?!? He also honored a coupon we got for online only orders. Avel, thank you so much. I won't ever order online for lamps plus products again. The staff here do not know what they are doing. Horrible management and I've had nothing but problems with the lights I've purchased here. Every time I call for a part or replacement they sent me the wrong thing. When I call to tell them they sent the wrong stuff they tell me to toss it in the trash? What. This has been ongoing with my light fixtures for three years. I suggest light bulbs Unlimited down the street great people and they know what they're stuff. they have solve all my problems that lamps Plus couldn't . read more

Recently I contacted Lamps Plus for advice concerning upgrading the lighting in my bedroom, living room, and dining room. At the store I was treated with attentive care. All of my questions were answered, and suggestions were presented. All of the employees were helpful and accommodating. An electrician was sent to my house to determine an estimate for the work needed. In addition, a designer named Nick came out to help with style and lighting choices. Nick was professional and informative concerning design options. Overall, I was amazed at the service and helpfulness of each and every employee at Lamps Plus. The challenges were to "create spatial separation while having the area be not to busy" because we agreed having the floor lamps needed to create a feeling alignment and deal with the dilemma of the tightness of the space Desiree is very good her motto is: "space needs to make good sense", which I appreciate. - She recommended bronze, "Spanish Revival", Oil Rubbed Bronze, as she felt that among the alternatives the best solution would be bronze or iron for the metal work. - She: said her solutions has both "style and substance" to create the feeling of spatial differentiation (as a line of demarcation) and the recommended swing arm provides the required task lighting. Conclusion: After sharing a couple of pics of a living room where I want to create two separate areas to be, and talking to Desiree the service and attention to detail for the recommendation of lighting was outstanding. Buyer beware! We purchased 3 ceiling fans from Lamp Plus and at the time of purchase asked for the cost of installation, the sales person said $395. The installer came over, spent exactly 4 hours installing the fans and handed me a bill for $1,185! My husband called the store to inquire and was told that $395 was per fan. He tried to talk to the manager who referred him to the installer who referred him back to the store, in the end, although we tried to dispute the charges, we had to pay. If we had been told that $395 was per fan, we would have looked for an electrician on our own. We ended up paying $296.25/hour for installing those fans. Installation did not require running wires into the walls to install switches since the fans are operated by remote control. read more

I took it into this store and they were extremely helpful. They offered me the floor model, but after seeing that it was broken, James offered to pick a new one up from another store because he lived close by.
