How can that be, when Folke literally has an employee who has worked there for over 3 years, and is full Mexican? So I don't know what's up with the salty review, "G Money". Anyways, I first bought a set of beautiful vintage walnut side tables here about a year ago or so. Last week, I went in to buy some candles, and the owners were as sweet and easy to talk to as ever. In an age full of online shopping and cheap garbage, it's refreshing to me to find a store with meticulously curated products, beautifully styled. It's like a museum in there with all of the amazing designer vintage pieces by Eames, George Nelson, Saarinen, etc. I'll continue to support this small business, and recommend them to my friends and family. Keep up the good work, guys.

Matt is a true craftsman. The level of detail he puts into restoration and custom work is immaculate. I'm consistently blown away by the quality and how Folke's work holds up over the years. I'll always be a loyal customer.

Apparently I interrupted her morning when she had to ring me up and bag my items. There was absolutely no line and no one in the store and she rudely pointed to the line que and said "the line starts over there but I guess I can help you !?" Then said nothing to me except " your receipts in the bag" .. Honestly someone needs to train Monique on customer service. One of the gals mentioned they knew the owner of the place that we should check out the store and see if the owner was in town. While waiting for the owner we took a look around and found some cute, fun and funny things! They had a Christmas tree decorated with camping themed merchandise which of course caught our attention. They had a little bit of everything for almost everyone and any age. Well, maybe not for infants at least i don't recall seeing anything for infants. The found the prices on some of the merchandise to be reasonable. Some of the clothing were on the pricey side. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although I didn't purchase the really cute, and funny kitchen towels, I did purchase a couple of stickers (I enjoy stickers!). This business will find me here again if ever in the area.

They've always done a good job of creating small vignettes to show off different themes. This being Ventura, they definitely carry a lot of beach-themed items. One area that caught my eye this time was a section with camping / get outdoors / celebrating the National Parks merchandise. Some very cute and unique stuff to be had in that section. I found something for my aunt to make as a gift. She's making a goal to get around to all of the National Parks, and is steadily chipping away at it. What I got will help memorialize that in a whimsical way. The ladies who work the store are friendly and helpful, which makes the shopping experience even more delightful. Take your sense of humor in when you visit - you never know what you'll find to make you smile and even laugh out loud.

We explained the vision for our showroom, and they let us be as involved as we liked, while also guiding us to make great decisions. From going over floor plans, choosing furniture, explaining inspirations, installing light fixtures, and paying for their services - everything was easier than anticipated. They handled the things we did not have time to do, and even source contractors for us. To say this was worth the investment, is an understatement. Throughout the whole process, there were no feelings of stress or anxiety, I knew that they could handle everything.

A lot of thought went into what and where to buy. We are so thankful we chose this place! First off, David and Jesse are knowledgeable and professional, and it's obvious they take pride in what they do and have great concern and care for their customers. It's not just a job for them! Jesse delivered the couch himself 3 days after we bought it. He was efficient and careful, and did it all with smiles and professionalism. Through no fault of the store, however, the couch we bought had a manufacturer defect and so did the replacement that was first sent. It took us about a week and a half to finally get the couch we paid for. With the impact on us financially due to the amount we invested in it, of course we were more than concerned and worried. But, through the whole situation, David and Jesse were prompt to get answers for us and were on the phone frequently with the manufacturer on our behalf. David called us several times himself to update and reassure us. He had great concern for us, and wanted to make sure we were happy and satisfied with our purchase. You just don't get this kind of customer service from a big box store, and especially not from the likes of Amazon. I always wondered why this small shop on the corner of Seaward and Main has been there for what seems like forever. Now I know why! I highly recommend The Couch Potato, and David and Jesse for your furniture needs - trustworthy, friendly, professional, and caring service. We will come here again when the need arises. Their jewelry was pretty and I liked some of their gift accessories like hats and passport tags etc. The store was clean and spacious enough to walk around without bumping into people. Multiple staff on shift which was nice as one gal was walking the floor talking about sales while another could attend to customers wanting to pay.
