I recently moved back to Miami and I was SO EXCITED to get my free bubble tea as promised by this "Bubble tea time card" I had saved from when I lived here years ago where you'd accumulate stamps every time you bought a bubble tea from the bubble tea window. As you can see, I'm due for a free one; I have already purchased a total of 20 bubble teas per this card. No where on this card is there an expiration date. I went today to redeem my rightly deserved bubble tea, but the guy working the window didn't know what this was. I asked him if he could speak with the owner to at least honor this free drink and I can just forget about filling up the last column. He spoke with the manager instead as the owner wasn't in. The manager spoke with me and then I asked her to please talk with the owner. She said she reached out to the owner, Pamela, and the owner was saying I had to buy something in order to get a free bubble tea. That wasn't the agreement on this card. I understand this loyalty card is no longer used and I accepted the fact that I can't use the last column, but the least they can do is honor this promise. I am highly disappointed with the customer service I received. Some of our favorite dishes are the poke bowl, red curry beef, and their extremely fresh sushi rolls. The Sakura Roll is our absolute favorite, with fresh crabmeat and sashimi pieces on top. Their lunch special is always a great value as it brings a green salad, some fresh sprouts, and a California roll along side of a miso soup. The service at Lan is always on point. I have been coming to Lan Pan for many years, but recently I have tried their tiger's eye specials and ube brownie special. Both incredible dishes, especially the brownie. It's been a couple years since I've been to Lan, and I'm really impressed! The menu has evolved, but still features the same wonderful mix of Asian fusion dishes. We went for my Father in law's birthday, and everyone ordered a different item, ranging from a sushi appetizer to the chicken curry, a Korean-style rice pot, and I had the yellow curry noodles with shrimp and Chinese sausage. We finished off with coconut flan... the caramel was a bit too burned, but it was still a tasty treat. They've also updated the decor, with new tables and chairs, and a new seating plan. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend if you are looking for a quick, delicious, and affordable lunch option. I ordered the lunch special tamarind shrimp. The special comes with soup, salad, and a California roll to start. All for only $13.95. I asked for double salad because I'm not a big fan of soup. The ginger salad was big with the accompanying California roll. Then I was served a bowl of shrimp, and they did not skimp on the amount of shrimp even if it was a lunch portion. The shrimp was delicious! I wish it came with a side of a rice to mix in, but I'm sure you can always order a side of rice on the side. A lot of the lunch special options were proteins without side dishes. We sat down right away even though the restaurant was full. The restaurant has a modern design and was very comfortable. They get a gold star for service. It is very quick! My boss and I had a sit down lunch in less than an hour. I felt the miso soup was okay, if a bit lacking in ingredients. It mostly was broth. The salad in comparison was plentiful and all the vegetables were fresh. I did not like the dressing though. In terms of the chicken flat noodles, they tasted well enough. I just felt it was missing something, but I cannot put my finger on what. Maybe a spice? At any rate, the food was fine, but nothing to rave over. We finished our meal with a couple of boba teas. My boyfriend had a chocolate one with a jasmine tea base, while I had a strawberry one with a jasmine tea base and I believe some strawberry jelly as well. The boba tea was amazing. I have been coming here for so many years. It's not a typical Asian restaurant. The menu is all mixed with Korean, Japanese, and some fusion dishes. This place is always busy with many different kinds of people but unfortunately you really don't see many Asians eating here. The place is clean and the service is good. Food? I usually get some sushi and they are not bad but definitely not the best. I don't like to see the stick of imitation crab on the rice as "sushi". Tuna tastes a bit frozen and not much flavor. Salmon was good. I never tried the bubble tea here but the green tea doesn't taste good. More like a plain hot water. Maybe next time, I should try some Thai dishes or something like that.
