I never have a bad experience when I come here and I was super happy they opened on bird. Everything is always taste, the staff is super nice. The honey garlic chicken always looks like pretty golden jewels and it's like caramelized. The kimchi spicy chicken bowl is also yummy I do wish it was spicier. The other chicken bow that I've had that's good is the golden chicken steak rice bowl. The pork and beef gyoza are good I recommend the beef ones. The takoyaki is decent and always piping hot. I am a HUGEEE fan of Good Chefs it is truly one of my favorite Asian restaurants in Miami. They teriyaki bow is always a must. The porky buns was a first for me and although I'm not a huge fan of the cucumber chunk I loveee the sauce both the bun and the pork belly are amazing. Truly a must have. My sister said she loved the ramen but the one she got is spicy. The milk tea is great. Such a hidden gem. The seating in this location is small just like their other location. I've dined in at their 40th avenue location once and had carry out 3 times at the 107th avenue location. I will say I really enjoyed my Spicy Miso Ramen Soup, Garlic Mongolian Beef dish and a Passionfruit Tea with strawberry pops at the 40th Avenue location. The soup broth was fresh and yummy. The garlic beef dish had a crunchy texture with a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The tea was refreshing and had fresh lime in it. The service at the location was top notch. The gentleman regularly asked if everything was okay. It was a pleasant experience. Only complaint is that they are supposed to open for service 11:00 am. I arrived at 11:00 am and was told they needed some more time to prep and to come back at 11:45 am. At their 107th Avenue location, I've ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen soup on 3 separate occasions all carry out or delivery. I also tried the Pad Thai with chicken and Special Fried Rice. The quantity of the soup broth provided for carry out is less compared to dining in. Which is a bummer. I really didn't enjoy the Pad Thai. It lacked the tartness from tamarind and sweetness that most Pad Thai dishes have. I'm an avid Pad Thai enthusiast and this dish wasn't it. It tasted like an ordinary bland noodle dish. The Special Fried Rice was also bland and lacked spices or flavor. I arrived at the restaurant and found that they have an Asian market in the same suite. I did purchase some of my staple Asian items while picking up my carry out, which was cool. The market is overpriced compared to other Asian markets. The dine in section is very small and lively. Expect a wait time to be seated. The quality of beef and chicken used in their ramen soups and Pad Thai was not good at all. It was rubbery and did not taste or have the texture of beef or chicken. In the future, I'll try the those dishes with tofu or shrimp, since I don't consume pork. Consuming the ramen soup is best during dine in. For carry out my noodles were struck together, dry and the seaweed was welted. Top dishes for me is the ramen soups and the garlic Mongolian beef. I love that the menu offers various broths that are not all pork based. If you can wait to for a dine in experience over carry out, that would be best. In terms of the food the spicy yummy ramen was great the broth was especially tasty when comparing it to other Ramen places I like to go to I would stay here was definitely more savory! The Mongolian beef was good if you like garlic it packs a punch but for me it was a bit too sweet I would have preferred less sweet more savory but it was still great. I enjoyed the Yummy Spicy Ramen and Porky Buns, both of which were so delicious I'm still thinking about them a day later. My only gripe with this restaurant is the prices - the portions are generous and the dishes are definitely worth it taste-wise, but I personally don't like having to pay extra to add proteins to dishes that are supposed to come with them already (e.g. you have to pay to add any meat to the ramen). The location is pretty small which I didn't expect, but they have a lot of variety any on the menu. I did like the decorations inside. I will say I've gone to a lot of Asian spots because I love Asian food and this spot was OK. The pork buns look like the ones that are frozen that you buy at the Asian markets. Good Chef is a small, intimate space near the corner of the Bird Road Plaza closest to the Turnpike. I remember a very long time ago there was a typical Asian takeout place with the faded menu and the kid behind the counter doing homework that me and my mom used to order from frequently in this shopping center. Today, Good Chef with its incredibly successful Sweetwater location has decided to branch out here on Bird Road and offer their incredible Asian cuisine to more customers on this side of 8th street. Authenticity is the name of the game best served here, featuring every dish from different Asian Countries except for Sushi. It's mostly a Chinese/Korean mix, but the chefs definitely brought their recipes and flavors from home abroad. The appetizers for the Scallion Pancakes and the Pork Buns were both really great, but I have to give the edge to the scallion pancakes for not only being a unique offering but also a very tasty option for anyone that likes potatoes and pickles. My main dish was the Korean spicy fried chicken rice bowl as pictured on the menu which tasted absolutely fantastic. The breading on the chicken reminds me of the sweet Korean corndogs that I ate, but the spicy mayo they use really brings the whole dish together. The cabbage and edamame beans are also a great side. Ordered stirfry noodles with shrimp, which were super tasty and the sauce/broth came out really well. For dessert, we ordered the Lava Buns, which is like a traditional Thai Donut, but with a melted egg custard in the center. it was a great way to end a very fulfilling dinner. For drinks, we also ordered a jasmine and lychee fruit tea, both of which did not disappoint. I really need to emphasize that the food was also made and brought to our table incredibly quickly, but that might also be because we were some of the only ones in this restaurant at the time we went. Recently I discovered they opened their second location here by Bird Road and am pleased to see they have expanded their business. There is no marketplace in this location, only the restaurant. Nonetheless, it's nice they have opened an Asian Fusion restaurant in these parts of the neighborhood and close to home for a quick, simple meal. Their honey garlic chicken is delicious. The sweetness of the honey glaze and the crispness of the exterior is enjoyable. I've had the chance of trying the jasmine lemonade and it's perfect. Sweet but not sickly sweet with a good mixture of the jasmine and lemonade flavors without overpowering each other. If you're a fan of Anime, the interior is filled with them. My brother has been raving about Good Chef restaurants for what feels like an eternity. We always joked that he must be a shareholder or head of their Marketing department because is always talking about this place. So this past Sunday we decided to order some food which had a menu that specializes in Asian comfort food. We ordered the following items the Takoyaki (octopus balls), Mongolian beef, General Tso's chicken and a shrimp fried rice. The octopus ball was the only item that we did not like, I felt it was too doughy and I could not really taste the octopus. Both the Mongolian and General Tso were delicious and the sauces had the right combination of sweet and savory, the meats were also very tender. The fried rice was also very good with good sized shrimps and I really liked the smokiness of the sliced ham. For dessert we ordered a very unique dessert which were the coconut lava balls, made with the same sticky rice flour as the sesame balls. They were filled with a gooey and delicious coconut custard and to make things more sublime they had condensed milk for dipping.
