I am a fan of the brisket fries here on the menu they are called redneck fries . You also have to try the firecracker shrimp which I was truly impressed on how amazing they were as well . The place was empty when we arrived a little before 3pm on a Thursday. There's signs the read: seat yourself. So we grabbed our wrapped silverware and a menu and seated ourselves. We were greeted by staff as we were walking to our seat. A few minutes later a waitress comes by to get our drink orders. She takes our food order when she brings the drinks. The food takes forever to arrive. Like really long. Don't ask for all flats. They can't do it. The brisket wasn't the same. Wouldn't get it again. Hush puppies were hard - but tasty. We asked that the 2nd round not be cooked so hard. I don't think that's a thing. They were hard too. As much as I enjoyed this place the first time my aunt had us come here - I don't think I'll come back. Something was different. The food just wasn't the same. read more

In town for a work event, and the sponsoring company treated us to Lancaster's. Walked inside and was pleasantly surprised by the decor inside. The colors and coolness of the race car decorations were interesting. There is a small game area also. The menu has a lot of items that sound delicious. The green beans were a little pepper forward. The wings and rubs were saucy, just the way i like it. We had a large party of approximately 30 people, and they served us in a timely and orderly manner in the upstairs area. We received complimentary freshly made hushpuppies, which were delicious. The portions were very large and worth the money. I built a combo with Baby Back Ribs, 5 wings with barbalo (bbq & Buffalo) sauce, and sides of homemade curly chips and green beans. Everything was delicious. Stephanie and Kelly were both great servers. They answered our questions with a smile and were prompt with coming back with additional items. We used to love this place but after our recent visit, we wont be back anytime soon. Our server seemed new which wasn't the issue..but if you cant prioritize your tables, you probably shouldn't be making drinks at the bar. We waited over 15 minutes for our beer, which we watched every single person walk by at the well, including the manager. She failed to check on us, offer us any sauces or butter with the hushpuppies, and towards the end of our meal completely neglected the table..we waited 30 minutes for her to come to us the get the check..we would've gotten another beer in that time but how would we have ordered that. We watched her stare at the coffee being made before she was able to multi-task and check back on our table. Terrible, terrible service. And the kicker--there wasn't anybody in there. Didn't get the servers name but she has facial piercings, tattoos, and dyed hair. Please work with her on multi-tasking and checking on her tables. read more

We always have a lovely meal at Lancaster's! Personally, I love their fall of the bone ribs with their green beans! My spouse loves their pulled pork sandwich. All of my spouse's family are absolutely in love with their hush puppies! They think they are the perfect North Carolinian hush puppies. Their banana pudding dessert is just quintessential dessert to pair with any bbq dish in my opinion! There is a really awesome story behind all of the NASCAR memorabilia in the restaurant but I will leave that for you to find out about the next time you eat there :) On the way out we love to partake in the arcade area because who isn't thrilled to blow off adulting with some whack a mole! read more

Pretty good food - fried pickles always seem to be extra salty, good hushpuppies. I got one of many combo plates - 5 wings and then a quarter of fried chicken. The wings were better than the other chicken - the fried chicken had a sorta funny batter on it that I didn't like too much. Sides were good too! read more

Came here with the family for dinner in the middle of the week, Lancaster's is hidden off the main drag inside a quiet neighborhood. The decor is NASCAR and is fabulous if you're a fan. (Hubby and I are old school and loved seeing all the paraphernalia from drivers of a long time ago.) We were seated immediately but the place filled up fast. It's clean and spacious and our waitress was a peach. We were first served with the complimentary hush puppies; crescent shaped instead of round, these were probably the best we've had up here in NC. Our appetizer of fried mushrooms followed. Those were good but average. I had the spicy fried chicken. The fried chicken itself was crunchy and very moist. The spicy sauce was like a vinegar bbq gravy (?). It was interesting and but not enough to order again. I definitely would reorder the fried chicken (just plain though). The mashed potatoes & gravy was very good. Definitely recommend that. Assorted people in our group (not all dishes were photographed) had the pulled pork. They liked it but not really wowed. The macaroni & cheese was a hit. Not the baked beans though, too sweet for most of our tastes. We ordered the whole fried okra, but were disappointed that they are more nuggets instead of whole pieces. No matter, they were still good. I really want to give Lancaster's 4 or 5 stars but the majority of the food didn't quite live up to it. I am planning on returning and hoping for better results. read more

Lancaster's is well known for its BBQ. I want to brag about our waitress at our last visit! Her name is Dyzarae. I enjoy nothing more than a server that has a sense of humor and especially one that goes the extra mile to make us feel special and welcomed. We were a party of 6 that tried on 3 different tables until we found one we all agreed on, Dyzarae didn't bat an eye and eagerly made us feel right at home. She continued to keep us engaged with little bits of humor and joined right in with our somewhat "dry" senses of humor! So next time you stop in for BBQ under your favorite race car hood, ask for Dyzarae. You'll be glad you did!! read more

We wanna try pulled pork while in Charlotte and read good reviews. Bought a pint of pulled pork; they offered the traditional bbq sauce and a vinegar based one. We are originally from TX and on a road trip. We aren't familiar with the vinegar kind. The cashier seemed annoyed when we inquired what that was. I hope they don't assume everyone is from NC or know about this! They can put a note with ingredients by the register so the cashier doesn't have to answer that repeatedly. Pork was moist and flavorful. They didn't offer any condiments like onion, pickles, and jalapeños. Maybe that's a Texas thing. There was a transaction fee when using a credit card. Wish the cashier can tell us before charging as we could have paid in cash. He wasn't friendly at all. We also went to another shop for pulled pork and brisket so we can compare as my husband is a bbq connoisseur. We prefer the other place more. read more

This super cute nascar themed BBQ spot hits. I thought I was starving and ordered a "pick two" meal and realized quickly I would be eating this plate for 3 meals. Maybe 4. The food was all served piping hot and fresh, prices were very reasonable, and the portions..... Lord have mercy. It was delicious. The server was attentive and friendly, everything you'd want in a dinner service. The vibe was really cool- would be a neat place to take company or "out of towners". Can't say enough good things. Go and eat there. Go hungry though, I was a little embarrassed carrying 2 to-go boxes of food home, after I ate to my hearts content (3 boxes if you count my bf's too). Tonight WAS THE WORST/ROTTEN FOOD(which lead to extreme STOMACH PAIN) HANDLED BY THE WORST MANAGER I have ever experienced, out of 12 years of coming to this establishment. I have been coming here for YEARS, always brought family to this restaurant for the fun experience and the good food. I ordered a Cobb salad WITHOUT a tortilla bowl. $14.25 was the full price. I started chewing into the salad and many times I found myself biting into bad, ROTTEN lettuce. Tasted exactly like I was eating grass from my own back yard. I called the manager, MORGAN, over and told her about the rotten lettuce. To be fair she did offer another salad or a replacement meal. Which I declined because I didn't want MORE ROTTEN LETTUCE, and I lost my appetite, why would I want another plate of something? (Which-now, I'm a hour and a half since eating what little of my meal that I did and my stomach is completely ripped up, cramping and diarrhea.) Let's be logical. The best thing to do was to COMP the meal, for rotten lettuce that upset the stomach of the customer? Right? No. Instead a $5 manager discount, but then the RESTAURANT charges to use CREDIT CARD PURCHASES, which was $4.30. Now? Was there really a discount? Not realllyyy. I called MORGAN back over and asked her why she didn't comp the ROTTEN salad? She defended that I ate most of the salad? No I did NOT, the salad was soggy and I mashed it down with all the rotten pieces I spit out. Including the napkins that had my spit out lettuce in to. Please see pictures for reference. She then said I ate all the chicken-YEAH I DID, HALF A CHICKEN BREAST? Which was the only appetizing part of the salad that WASN'T ROTTEN!!!! And since I did NOT TAKE HER UP ON HER OFFER OF A REPLACEMENT MEAL, THAT MY STOMACH WAS UPSET FROM-wouldn't it be proper for a COMP?! But she didn't sway her decision, she was actually VERY RUDE about it to me, my friend, and my mother. Plus, it's not like we were a party of two trying to get a free meal. WE WERE A PARTY OF SIX THAT SPENT $123 on the whole meal, that total is not including tip. But really, was it worth it Morgan? To be that ungodly rude and not comp a ROTTEN SALAD? Please, TAKE THAT measly $14 and head over to the FOOD LION and buy a NEW BOX OF SALAD. Please. DONT let the next customer who has a salad have my date of spending the whole night on the "porcelain throne." By the way this place SUCKS for celiac and Gluten Free people. This is the cutest little joint ever! Why is no one talking about this place in Charlotte? I would be here every week if it were closer to me. The mushrooms and horseradish sauce was amazing. The Hawaiian chicken salad was SO good! My friend loved the bbq pulled pork sandwich. The vibes are everything. I'd give this place 4.5 stars only bc the service was pretty dang slow. We were there for 18 minutes before we had anyone ask for our order. My food came before my beer did which is just wrong lol. But our server was super sweet so not salty about it. Came here last night to celebrate our 11th anniversary. We have been here before and really enjoy it. Came with a group of 6 of us. We were seated promptly. A couple of observations- first- the two tables that were together to form a larger seating area were almost 3/4 of an inch different in height. I ended up balancing between the two. Should have been noticed by the service staff. Also, our waitress- (unfortunately I did not get her name or I would have included it here) seemed to be either overwhelmed by the party of 6 or just not happy to be there. Just a non-caring or don't care to be here attitude. All at the table noticed it. She was pleasant enough- just not acting happy to see us- looked more bothered by us. She took our orders almost mechanically, and when I requested hush puppies it seemed to be a bother. Took forever to get them- actually came after our meals were delivered. Asked for ranch dressing to go with them- never showed up. Asked for extra tarter sauce for my fish- she came back and said " you asked for something but I forgot"- I said it was tarter sauce, but not to bother since I already finished the fish. Overall- the food was excellent. Ribs, Mac n cheese, cheese curds, hamburger steak, redneck fries and fried pickles. All excellent. Only drawback was the waitress seemed to be in a poor mood with a poor attitude. Otherwise- excellent experience. Will he back- because we really enjoy the food and atmosphere.
