I went in for a routine cleaning, but they did a CT scan without asking for my permission. They…read moreused my Delta Dental benefits for the CT scan, even though I didn't request it. They claimed they were in network with Delta Dental, but the dentist who treated me was not. When I asked why, the office manager said they "expected" her to be in network. That is unacceptable. They also told me I needed two root canals. After getting a second opinion, I found out I only needed one. Because of their actions, my insurance benefits were already used, so I had to pay out of pocket for another CT scan at the endodontist's office. Be careful. Verify that your treating dentist is actually in network, and always get a second opinion before agreeing to expensive dental treatment.
