** DON'T BUY HERE** I got a black Tesla X P100D about 6 months ago from this dealership. I tested the car and thought it would be a good buy. NOT. I paid about 78k after tax for this Tesla. The very next day the car had issues. The screen of the Tesla would not turn on, I spoke with manager there and she advise me to take it to Tesla. Tesla told me that it needs to have an update on the system and it would cost about 2,500 to replace. I was back and forth with the manager and even told them that I would be happy to buy another car from their lot. The manager told me not possible. (Remind you this was two days after I brought the car!) I had to pay out of my own pocket to have this thing fixed and it is still having issues. Long Story Short! Car wont start! NO joke just today another 1k for a battery change. Lesson learned. The best warning I can give ya is NEVER BUY FROM KEN GARFF. I live in Los Angeles and my local dealer left a lot to be desired in courtesy, service scheduling and just overall professionalism. I decided to have the Evoque serviced while on a road trip to Utah at Land Rover Centerville, and everyone was so nice, professional, took time to take care of an unusual problem, provided a loaner and follow up. I told myself this is where I would go for service and a new car when I was ready. Imagine going to Utah when you live in Los Angeles! On a recent road trip I stopped in for the 20,000k service on my Evoque, and walked out with a new 2018 Velar and just left the Evoque in service... lol. Well, not really, I traded it in. Pay attention to your repairs. I didn't check their work and later realized they overfilled the oil by 3 quarts during a simple oil change. This occurred 3 times! I spoke with the service department but they did not believe it until I came back to the shop and made the service manager pull the dipstick in front of me. I had the receipts to show they used 9 quarts which match what was in the the oil pan. I have a LR3 with the 4.0L v6 which only take 6 quarts. They would not take responsibility and now I have a nasty knock in the motor. I said I would never come back and I think they were relieved ....feeling they would be off the hook. I normally check after each repair but did not think about checking something so simple as an oil change. That is why I went to the dealer in the first place as they are supposed to be experienced, skilled and professional. Update: I emailed the Brand Advocate as indicated below but guess what?! Talk about an easy transaction. This is the 12th car I have purchased in my life. Why must it take no less than FOUR HOURS to purchase a car??????? Well it always has...until now. Don't hesitate to check out this dealership. Phillip is responsible for internet sales - and you couldn't have a straighter shooter (maybe its because he's from Texas and they know something about guns there). But the same goes for his entire team. I have NEVER experienced a more direct approach to car sales - and I was in and out of there with my new Rover in under 30 minutes. Honestly, it was a world record - beating the next closest experience with an execution that was SIX TIMES faster. The car is perfect - the service impeccable. Every experience in having my car worked on has been A+++. The service techs are courteous and take the time to explain any issues in plain ole English (not technical car-speak). This dealer is a crook, they sell used junk. If you are thinking of buying a car, go else where. I bought a used Range Rover and had nothing but problems. They convinced me to trade it in for another one and I have had nothing but issues with that one as well. I had them put on new rims and tires and they put them on wrong then wanted me to pay for new tires and breaks. To top it off they told me the car was covered by the existing 50,000 mile warranty . They failed to mention that it wasn't good past June 2014. Guess what, had a major issues July and they are not covered.... sub par at best . Range Rovers are over priced POS. JUNK. read more

I've had two differing experiences with this dealer. Once, they were able to fix an overheating problem I had with my 2002 Freelander, after going two other places and getting the wrong diagnosis. But the next time I came here, I had an awful experience. My check engine light goes on and off constantly and I came here to have them look at it and see what it needs to be fixed.. Well it turns out I need a lot of new parts apparently (new intake, etc.) , and I don't blame them for this, it's not their fault that what I need would be $2,300 parts plus around $2,000 labor (besides their super high labor prices) to fix a car worth less than $3k. However, it was utterly ridiculous when I came to pick up my car and was told it would be $200 despite them fixing nothing, and just seeing what was wrong. While not unheard of to be charged to inspect a vehicle to diagnose an issue, I have usually been able to walk away from places with no charge for just checking out the issue. Being charged for this wasn't a huge issue for me however. It really didn't surprise me especially from a dealer. However, 200 bucks? That's ridiculous. Especially as a return customer. I spoke to a manager, I was livid. He just said that's the policy of every dealer he knows, and that their labor is $115/hr (ridiculously high) and if it took someone an hour and a half to diagnose this problem, well too bad. When I mentioned the price of the repair is greater than the value of the car, of course he was like, wait what car is it? (Obviously like, this is a Land Rover or Range Rover, and all our customers have tons of money and our fancy schmancy overpriced cars... Yeah well I'm a bit different, as my car is almost 14 years old now, and was the cheapest car Land Rover ever made. I told him I had an 02' Freelander and he was like, "oh...." This dealer gets 2 stars just because of my first experience with them, when they fixed the problem! My 2nd experience with them was awful, and from now on I avoid them at all costs. read more

We bought our 2016 Range Rover Sport in Anaheim Hills CA and had an amazing experience! They treat you the way you want to be treated when you buy a $100,000 car. Unfortunately we have not had the same experience here in SLC. It's too bad that there isn't another option here in Utah. The first time we went in and got a tow hitch on they were nice and it wasn't a horrible experience, but what rubbed us wrong is when we used the rental car they told us we had to fill it up with gas on our way back!! Are you kidding me? We spent $2,500 on service and parts that day and they expected us to fill it up! Never would we have had to do that in Orange County. The second time I went in was for issues with the car. The service guy was very nice, but the options they had to help me out were very frustrating. We called to make an appointment and they put us down for a week later, naturally I would assume with that long of a wait they would give me a car to use. Once I got there they told me they did not have me down for a car.... then why did I wait a week to come in?? I had to get a shuttle to be able to leave. After waiting a couple hours they called me and let me know that they didn't have the part and that it had to be over-nighted. They gave me the option of getting a ride home from their shuttle, I could have someone come get me or they would get me a rental car. I live in Draper which is about 45-60 min away. I don't want a ride home from the shuttle, I don't want my husband to go out of his way to come get me when we live so far way and I don't want to drive a crappy rental car. When I spend a lot of money on a car I want to be sent home with a nice car. That might sound b**chy, but it's true. The fact that they wouldn't give me one of their cars to use was extremely frustrating! The rental car place was extremely out of the way and I ended up being gone for 4 hours, just to find out that I had to go back tomorrow to go get my car. Every single time we dealt with any of the Land Rover dealerships in Orange County they always had a nice car for us to use. One last complaint was that we had told them that our car had a very big hesitation when driving. They claimed they didn't know what we were talking about and that it seemed just fine. That is BS, because if you google Range Rover Sport hesitation there are many people that are complaining about the same thing. It would be way better if they just said, "Hey, we are sorry, but we have no idea why it is doing that and we'll let you know as soon as we find out anything about this." Instead of just ignoring it like it doesn't happen. I'm done with my rant, it was just a horrible experience and it made me so angry that this was the best way to vent it out. I would like to say that the employees there were very nice, just the way the dealership helps out their customers is very poor when dealing with more expensive cars. read more

Centerville Land Rover's mistake cost me $10,000. I'm an experienced buyer. During my first experience with Centerville Land Rover, I knew I was interested in purchasing used higher-end vehicle. With very little haggling or negotiation, Centerville sold me a 2009 Range Rover that had been represented during the sale as being in excellent shape. However, within the first 1000 hours, my Land Rover required new brake shoes. I happened to be back at Centerville around that time for an oil change and I mentioned that if they were going to sell a high-end vehicle like mine, they needed to certify it. It was then that I noticed an advertisement for Centerville and realized that they already were purporting to sell certified pre-owned vehicles. During a conversation with Bill Fagergren, the man who sold me that car, I mentioned that I was intending to replace my 2009 Range Rover with a newer model for tax advantage reasons. Bill told me, "Well, we usually sell out of them, but I might have something for you right now." Bill quickly lined up another brand new vehicle for me to purchase. As my intention was to finance a significant portion of the vehicle, we began to discuss my loan options. Bill offered me a 2.9% with a 5% down on the vehicle. I warned him that my credit is less than perfect, but even with that information, he made the deal. To show my gratitude and pass along the favor, I sold the 2009 Range Rover back to them at wholesale price and transferred my expensive wheel and tire package from the old car to my new one. I brought them the title on Thursday afternoon and received my check on Friday. On Monday afternoon, I received a call from Bill at Centerville asking me to return the check to them on the grounds that they couldn't get the loan they offered me. I told him that, during our negotiations, he had represented this as a done deal. That was the main reason I agreed to sell by car back to them at such a low price. Bill's excuse? We didn't have our normal finance advisor on that day. Centerville refused to take responsibility for their mistake, forcing me to hire an attorney to sort through the mess they had made. My attorney discovered an obscure provision that gave Centerville 7 days to respond to me in writing saying that they were unable to get the financing placed. On the 7th day, they sent a tow truck to forcibly take back my vehicle, along with the wheel and tire package I bought for it. The entire ordeal, from the wheels to the tires to the attorney fees, amounted a total loss of around $10k. Centerville Land Rover claims to uphold "Land Rover standard of excellence," but the reality is that their business conduct and service quality is a mar on the Land Rover name. Even knowing the awful reputation the Centerville Land Rover has established and continuously confirmed, we here in Utah are still locked into using this one dealership for all of our Land Rover purchases. I would urge the officials at Land Rover to consider the effects of letting Centerville continue to dilute the value of their brand in the minds of consumers like myself. Give us an option with another dealership. Put the business in more capable hands, or risk losing more customers like myself, who demand a superior car buying and selling experience. read more
