We were looking at more of a base line CPO model and ended up buying it. Given we were from out of town there were a lot of details we had to do over text and phone calls. I had past experience dealing with Jaguar/Land Rover in Carlsbad, CA and always received outstanding customer service over the years (2013-2020). Even though I had a Jaguar over a few years old, my personal service rep always saw to all our questions or concerns, and made us comfortable. Worst service department ever! The advisor won't return messages on phone system. So Then when I called the service manager he didn't answer so I left a message, waited then I called the manager of the whole dealership he wasn't available, then the service manager Tim finally called me after the dealership manager apparently called him. He said he would talk to Dylan the advisor. I then called the advisor Dylan again to reschedule and left another message because he never is available.. this was several days ago, now today a young lady named Anna called me saying that Tim asked her to schedule me an appointment. He won't call me himself and my reason for calling him was to let him know that my service advisor Dylan never got back to me. I just now got a call from Dylan he said that he never saw that I called and left another message for him Apparently Anna let him know to call me. So I just told him that I won't be back to the dealership and that I will be buying the new Range Rover from another dealership. I placed a web inquiry and Farid contacted me within the hour. We exchanged details on the vehicle then I was asked for my Zip code so he could send me the numbers (all was going well to this point). Once he got my Orange County zip code, he called to say "Land Rover have protected territories and we can't sell the vehicle to you, but leave it with me..." Not really feeling this was a legitimate 'Policy' I called Land Rover USA customer service Dept this morning and ended up being told "The stores are independently owned and it's their prerogative who they sell to." I conf called Farid so the CD agent could convey this. This was followed up with a conversation with Sid (Very polite fella) and he doubled down on saying the policy and, and told me to keep looking in the LA area as he's sure I'll find a car. So all in all - whilst the folk may be polite, it's clear they are only open to local shoppers - so all the best local folk.... Rest of y'all keep away. I was pretty confident I wanted the Evoque, but Farid was super accommodating while I test drove 3 different models just to be sure. Traded in my car and got exactly what I thought was a fair offer. Dealerships are super low on inventory so there really aren't a lot of great deals to be had but since used cars have such high trade in value right now it still works out pretty well. Buying or leasing a car takes forever but Farid worked as quickly as possible and everything went very smoothly. Their product specialist went over all the functionality with me in great detail. I previously left a 5 star review when I purchased my Range Rover. We love the car. But we just went in for a scheduled oil change and it was $800+. We got a "10% discount" because they didn't offer a rental car, but man $745 for an oil change, wash the car and change a filter. $489 of the cost was "labor" but the car was only there for 2 hours. We enjoyed the buying process but this is wild. I know revenue is down in the auto industry, but finding out after the fact that it's an $800 oil change doesn't seem to be a good idea for customer retention. Hate to say it, but we won't be coming back. read more

From the time I made my service appointment on my Range Rover Sport it took around 2-3 weeks in order to get an appointment with a loaner vehicle. During the check-in process the service advisor asked if I needed a vehicle. I kindly replied yes I do and requested one would I booked the appointment. The service advisor said we don't have any vehicles available and would have to take you over to enterprise for a rental vehicle. I felt this was unacceptable as it was to be a loaner vehicle. Ultimately I ended up leaving the dealership with my vehicle not fixed and the check engine light still on. What a waste of my day taking a day off of work and a hour drive each way as it's the closest Land Rover dealership. read more

I've been here twice and can only comment once on customer service- mainly because the last time I came here, no one could get up from a desk to greet me. I'd understand if they were busy but clearly they were not. I get that I look young, but I'm not. I'm looking at cars that will be a good fit for being a mom and for car seats and family life. I will never come back here again. Shout out to the Porsche dealership across the street though, they answered all my stupid questions about safety and were happy to give me a bunch of stuff to research. Bought my first Range Rover (used) from here, after a lot of online research. The price they were asking was fair and the car was as described. The Salesperson was not pushy and did not try to have all the answers, instead he took notes and researched my questions and came back with the needed information. When we negotiated, he truly made me feel like he wanted me to get the car and worked to get the price I wanted to pay. His finance group was amazing. Quickly getting a great rate and offering warranties and extra's only after I asked them. They were honest and the car has been running great for a few months now. Just leased a disco sport and was the easiest transaction ever. Was greeted at the door and Sydney helped me find a car. He along with the manager Mike went thru the numbers to find available rebates etc to get me a fair price. Keep in mind I'm a cpa and normally a haggler, but never once did I have to say or do anything. I've already looked at the prices up and down the coast at different dealers and this was the best price, and I didn't have to haggle at all!! It's a new world, and I appreciated that style of sales approach very much. Riley in finance got the paperwork together in minutes, and I was out the door with a new car, full tank of gas, and detailed. Sydney did a great job of explaining all the features. Extremely disappointed in this dealer shop. I was charged $500 for an oil change. Not only that, the service took nine hours to complete! For the final insult, I had an appointment. Obviously the fact I had set that appointment a full two weeks prior to the date did me absolutely no good. These guys are simply about maximizing their shop throughput and service revenue, not customer service! read more

Even though I got a response on this, I am not happy. This is still one of the worst experiences I've had at a Land Rover (or other brand) dealership. You can walk in and not see another human (i.e. salesperson) for 15-20 minutes. Then someone will peer out at you suspiciously from a back office if you walk around looking for someone but they won't think to come greet you. They have cars on the showroom but they are always sold and none on the lot. If you are lucky enough to encounter someone, they are arrogant as hell (Tony I think was his name). The managers I have encountered just seem like angry old men. Even though other dealers in LA may charge $5k over sticker, at least they have cars. This whole SB Auto Group is the same way. They don't really have the cars that people want. When they do, the numbers can almost always be beat somewhere south of here (except Land Rover since LA marks them up but that is a moot point since you cannot get a vehicle in SB). Overall, it just seems like a poorly run business with arrogant or lazy salespeople and not very nice managers. I can imagine it isn't a great place to work but if they want to make customers happy, they should check out some of the well oiled large dealers in LA. SB Auto Group is a joke! read more

All I can say is that the Service manager, Kevin, defines excellence in customer support. I have had 99% of the service and repairs on my Range Rover, which I purchased from them in 2006, performed there and while it's a bit expensive they have kept my car in excellent mechanical condition over all these years. They are quick, knowledgeable and most importantly HONEST. You can trust they will do the best to maintain your vehicle and I highly recommend them. read more

I was driving from the Bay Area when a bracket that holds part of the roof rack together popped off causing a part of the rack to fly around loosely. I drove into the service bay at this LR dealer. They immediately had a service guy come, find replacement parts and fix the problem. All in about 15 minutes with very polite and cordial attitudes. They also did not charge me for the time and clips that they replaced. Very pleased and impressed. Reinforces the brand for me. read more

SBLR is part of the broader SB Auto Group, which I've used for several years now with my (now former) BMW. The service at SBAG on the BMW side was exceptional, and when it was time to upgrade vehicles, I decided to go back to Land Rover for a change. My experience so far has been almost perfect. The sales team was helpful and very responsive without being overly pushy or aggressive. When I decided to purchase a vehicle, the finance team worked overtime in the middle of the holidays to get a deal done, and ended up offering me a very fair (KBB) price for my BMW (whereas several LA-based dealers were offering over $5k less for my trade). The actual sales process was pleasant and easy, and I love the car. My only complaint was that my salesman had promised my car would be fully detailed and ready for delivery in two days time when I could pick it up, but when I arrived it obviously was not up to delivery standards. Disappointing for a car of that level, but to his credit he realized he had dropped the ball and asked me to come back any time and they will fully detail it and get it delivery-ready at no charge. On a final note, got to interact with the parts department when I came in the next week to pick up a cargo mat, and they were awesome. Friendly, laid back, and extremely knowledgable. I look forward to working with SBLR on my car and a new car for the Mrs next year. read more
