I walked in on a whim. I needed a fill asap and my usual nail tech wasn't available. I took a chance on this place even though there's a bunch of mixed reviews. I went in and the place was clean and bright. It was well lit and most of the seats were filled up. That's always a good sign. I am very picky about the shape of my acrylics and designs on my nails. So they pointed me to the direction of either Katie or Kat. I ended up with Katie. She was very detail oriented and took her time with my nails. I had an amazing experience. I have had several manicures and pedicures at Landing Nails & Spa and have never had any problems until yesterday. My technician was very rough and left cuts on my toes and fingers. I flinched and said "ow" a few times, especially when she sprayed alcohol on the cuts, but she just kept going in a rough and reckless manner. 24 hours after my mani/pedi my fingers and especially my toes are painful and unsightly. Average is what is delivered here. It was excellent a few years aga but now rushed. It is a clean business and most of staff is friendly.

I'm not happy with the service here. We booked an appointment for a manicure for a bride and she was so unhappy. They we're so ugly. She got acrylics but they cut them so short and an ugly square shape and they were very lumpy, fat, and they didn't even have the color she wanted. It was her first time getting them done. Stay away from places like these that are full of unlicensed technicians. Also for paying $60 for an acrylic set I didn't even get a hand massage, minimal critical care. Threw on some oil on my hands at the end and said I was good. It wasn't even busy, don't know why they couldn't have taken their time to actually do a good job, not that that should even be an issue. The bride was in tears and went to Roses nails (the technician is named Nancy) downtown Bay Street to fix them and she was wonderful. read more

I asked if they were closed, even though the open sign was on and their business hours say open till 7:00pm. She snapped back, "yes, we closing. We don't have time for that." TERRIBLE! They seem to rush services. I went in when it wasn't even busy and I don't know if she was timing herself or what but damn. She just started clipping my nails without asking how long I wanted to keep them and ripped off my acrylics with a nail tool and a plastic nail tip. I just went to get acrylics removed thinking it needed to done professionally. Wrong, I could've done it myself the way she did it. Rushed through the manicure so fast that she made me bleed. When I came in not this weekend, but last weekend I asked for a gel manicure. The whole time it felt really rushed, and I barely had enough time to choose a color. The lady who did my nails was really nice, but she was kinda rough while filing my nails. One finger chipped the same day I got them done, and today one completely broke. When I've came here in the past my nails would last almost a month. I don't think I would return to this location for gel nails, but maybe something different. read more

I wish I'd paid better attention to the reviews I read before I went. The good: I went at 9:30 AM on a Monday and they got me right in. They were staffed appropriately for taking walk-ins. That was about all that was good though. Their nail polish selection was extremely disorganized and many of the colors looked old, separated, or dried. The bottles all seemed mostly empty. I picked the color I wanted out of what was halfway decent and sat down. The first thing I noticed was that the armrest was dirty. Not something you want to see when getting your nails done. The woman who did my nails was a very nice person, she just didn't do a great job. My nails were left rough and uneven. When doing my cuticles, she cut two of my fingers bad enough to bleed. She apologized, but kept digging at them with her nail when it clearly was hurting. After the hand cream and wax she used a cotton ball to wipe off the nails and left strings of cotton at the tips of many nails and never went back and removed it. The polish was old and funky and didn't go on well. Sitting at the drying table, you could see dust all over the top. Again, clear that things aren't kept clean. Overall, not worth the $17.00 charged. I am generally not picky and just likes basic manicure on occasion to clean up my nails and as a treat. This, however, was just a bad experience. I have been going to The Landing off and on for the last 4 years. Anytime I went to get my nails; I went to The Landing. Due to Covid, I haven't been in to get my pedicure. My partner and I decided to get the classic pedicure (35 minutes). When I called to make an appointment, the lady on the phone was really short and quite rude. I had a question about my appointment but she hung up on me before I could ask! We arrived early to our appointment so I could pick out the nail polish I wanted. Our ladies came to the front and brought us back to the pedicure area. The lady at my chair was very unfriendly and it was really uncomfortable. The pedicure was so rushed! They did not massage our feet, scrub any callouses or clean up my cuticles. I'm really bummed because I have told so many people to go here! read more

Didn't let my nails dry between layers so they rippled and I had to wipe it off when I got home. I set an appointment two weeks prior for a manicure and pedicure and they forgot about the pedicure. So they attempted to do my manicure while I sat in the pedicure chair. It was terrible. The technician didn't even clean up the excess paint around my nails. read more

I walked in to get a fill and my mustache, side burns, and chin waxed and the acrylic fill was great till she only put one sloppy coat of color on then covered it in chrome. She asked what I wanted waxed and I told her. She said we'll do it as a full face so it is cheaper for you so I agreed. I asked her to the get the top of my eyebrows and leave the middle and eyelid area to me. When she reached across to do the left side burn she dropped the wax on my left eyebrow and instead of removing the wax she ripped it out and matched the other side. I now have pencil thin eyebrows with no arch, when I walked in there with perfect eyebrows. The entire time I was in there it was like she was hurrying, she kept taking calls and texting people. I will not go back for nails and never again will I be getting waxed. She has ruined the experience for me. She wouldn't tell me her name but was bossing the other girls around so I'm assuming it was the boss. It was definitely not what I wanted to spend my pretty penny on. read more

When a woman gets her nails done, it's suppose to be a relaxing "treat yourself" experience. Fail. I came in and asked for an ombré French manicure full set. After becoming frustrated with the attitude the woman kept giving me when I would softly attempt to suggest what I wanted my nails to look more like, it became clear that she was not able to recreate the picture I showed her. She rushed through the file shaping of my nails and I was actually told "it's not the nail, your finger is crooked." ???? Long story short, I felt like I had to hover over her as she did my nails, I had to eventually cave in what I got and settled for a simple nude color , and then get hit with an outrageous $50 cost. Definitely not the best place to go if you are particular with how your nails look...you would think since it's YOU that has to wear them and stare at them for 2 weeks that they would be more accepting to your input and wishes. You get a glass of wine if you order the VIP room, and it's great because you're in your own room- well there was nobody else. I used to go here consistently and always asked for B. She was very very good and spent a good amount of time on my nails making sure everything was perfect. After she stopped working I left for a bit because I had one of the other ladies do it and it was very messy and uneven. So I was scared to come back. I tried again after months and the girl I see now is Lina. She is amazing. She is truly detail oriented and I appreciate it a lot. This is a very nice salon! I was looking for a place that does gel powder dip and walked-in. They were busy but they took me right away. I didn't catch the woman's name that did my nails but she was very nice and knowledgeable of nail products. I wasn't in a rush but she had to keep getting up to answer the phone or greet guests at the front door. Overall, I was happy with my manicure although I felt that it was pricey because other places I've been to for less will do lotion/hand massage/hot towel or other extras when polish is dry. read more

I had Jenny do my shellac manicure (apologies if that isn't the right spelling). She was really nice, and did a really nice job. I am not much into fashion, so I asked for some help from her and basically ended up picking two colors and asking her to make me something simple, cute, and not too flashy, and she did. Ended up with an almost nude pink, with teal accent flowers and a tiny bit of silver, all Jenny's suggestions and all of which I love :) I am kind of a boring person so for me it was actually kind of daring, haha! I think maybe they stopped doing the free drinks and such, because no one had one when I was there, and I definitely didnt get one! Haha. It would have been nice though, because from the time I walked in to the time I walked out it had been about 2 hours. They were really busy and I spent more time sitting by myself drying than anything... Not any of the employees fault, though. Everyone was working hard and fast. It would have been good to have had maybe one or two more girls there working. Its only been one day so maybe I will come back and update with how long they last. The employees clearly make an effort to speak in english. I know that we all hate that feeling when the nail ladies are talking to each other in their own language, ignoring your existence, and it always feels like you are being talked about... So it was really nice. Here it feels like they are paying attention to you and are happy you are there. For my manicure it was $38, if anyone is interested. Well worth it, I think, but again I will have to see how well it holds up to the keyboard :) read more

**Beware** Please read before you waste your money. On 8.3.19 I made an appt for dipping powder. This salon seemed busy and I'd heard good things from ppl who'd gone there (for gel). The woman who's name I never did catch started by placing both hands in knuckle deep acetone to remove my previous dipping powder. When I said it burned she made no adjustment. As she began her process she also never asked what shape I wanted. She had her own agenda. She started to make several layers of dipping powder and it seemed excessive but I tried to remember each place is a lil different. So when she reached nearly done and my nails had a super thick, bumpy, graining look... I wasnt able to hold my tongue anymore. I asked her to thin them down and that the nails should resemble finger nails and not be bumpy/clumpy. She at first tried to buff a bit more. Now.. I'd just been soaked in acetone and because she was irritated with me, she was buffing up onto my skin too! I then complained a little louder as my skin was starting to rip above my cuticle. She then got her manager involved. The manager agreed the nails were thick and she noted how bumpy but defended her employee that she'd done a sufficient dipping powder set. I balked!! She said she'd attempt to fix them. By this time I was there over an hour. I felt relieved that someone else might have better skill. I was mistaken. While the manager did make them slightly less like chicklets... her technique was NO better. She literally used the step 1 acrylic polish as top coat. The "fix" was garbage and I began to cry. I questioned if she was satisfied with the work... she said that was as good as it gets!!?? I wanted to leave, I was so furious. Then the manager said if I left, I'd still have to pay for this trash. I'd have to have them removed. So then I sat another hour while they again applied acetone. While there 2 other women complained about el that was dry and was sticky. I write reviews when something is extraordinary in its greatness or its completely awfulness. Dont waste your money on a dipping powder set at The Landing. They truly arent skilled to do that technique. I've attached pictures of the fix, I wish I had pictures of the original first attempt. My last pic is of the set I got the next day at Ty Nails. Can I give a half star or no stars??? This place is HORRIBLE. They can't do nails right, had the nerve to comment in how bad I did my own nails prior to coming in, and I got burnt with the towel after asking nicely, repeatedly to cool it down and they still wouldn't, she didn't let my nails cure all the way, she nicked my cuticles a lot and she forgot lotion on one foot, second coat of polish on the other, I had to keep reminding her how to DO HER DANG JOB. And most of all, I got a toe infection from improper care from them because the lady cut my cuticle. It's unhygienic there, and I will never, EVER return. I wish I could file a lawsuit for giving me an infection. They treated my friend just fine, but not me. read more

I came in here on a whim wanting to get a new set of acrylics to replace the ones I had done elsewhere in town. I walked in thinking I would have to get a whole new set but the nail tech ( male, didn't get his name) was able to fill and fix them without fully removing them and starting from scratch! I wish I had a before picture but when I walked in my nails looks SO bad. They were thin, narrow, pointy in the worst way and literally turned sideways. I also had leftover acrylic left underneath my nails from the previous mani I had gotten and he completely fixed them! I'm so happy with how my nails turned out. So I've been here twice, once I had a great pedicure and once I did dip nails and it felt like a battle since the tech wasn't really listening to me (it was rough). With that said the main reason for the rating is that she didn't have me wash my hands before, and didn't have me soak, or use any alcohol spray or anything, and did dip nails. Think about that. What ever I had on my hands is now in that jar of powder. I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened with, so I'm walking around with whatever bacteria was on someone else's hands on me. Long story short, cleanliness is an issue, and I definitely can't go back knowing that. In addition damage was caused to my nails even though I was explicit about not grinding... she ground so much my nail hurts to the touch, it's bad. Over all look is at least nice enough and will work for the event. read more

I was pleased with the shellac manicure I received here today...they were closing in an hour or so, so I opted to just do the quickie polish-change option vs. the full manicure. The staff was friendly and efficient. I was happy with how they removed my existing polish..filed down the polish and applied the remover. I've had bad experiences at other places aggressively scraping it off, so I just wanted to note that they do it right! They have a great, wide selection of color options which is pretty uncommon so I was delighted that I had oodles of colors to choose from. I was happy that they have a cheaper option for a quick color change too..it's not too often a nail shop offers that service and sometimes you just want to get in and get out, you know? I do have a few complaints that I just can't ignore though...there are a couple areas that were a little rough on the tips of my nails and they keep snagging on everything. There is also a black streak on one nail..small, but definitely noticeable. One of my nails wasn't filed evenly and goes up at a bit of a slant which irks me as I can't stop rubbing my thumb across the unevenness. The polish was also layered on a little too thick and is uneven on some of the nails...in certain light some areas look more transparent than others which bothers me. These are all individually relatively minor bits, but collectively having them all happen bummed me out too much to give them more than 2 stars. I will consider giving them another try next time I'm home, but overall things could be improved. read more
