Love love love this little hidden gem. It doesn't look interesting from outside but the food is really good, service feels so homey, and they serve great portions for those with bigger appetites. Food is made to order, so they do take a few minutes, but then again it's not a fast food restaurant. Hubby and I went on a small date here and it was super cute and super worth it. In my experience this place could use a change in menu with more options and a little bit better management. While I was here with my family we had to ask the waitress to give us a refill. She was very busy on her phone and even when people came in the establishment they weren't greeted with eye contact. She was very nice, and I have nothing against her personally. I didn't understand why even though she saw that our cups were empty she not once offered to give us a refill. read more

I've been on a journey trying different spots in Lake Elsinore. The locals make a big deal out of breakfast burritos so I thought I'd try the different offerings around town. Especially since I've rarely had a bad breakfast burrito. While I've seen this spot millions of times and it's real close to me, I've never been in the plaza but today I went for it. There are pics of their old menu floating around and I would love to try the shrimp scramble that it appears they used to offer. Anyways... The interior is roomy, you sit yourself and there are plenty options. Servers here are damn near local legends-that's how good the servers are. Customers know them and remember them by name-but they also are observant and good with names. But that breakfast burrito. Again, I've rarely had a bad breakfast burrito and my streak didn't end here. Let's talk about that salsa tho-it really was the icing on the cake. I never really make a big deal about salsa but it was very memorable here. It has a smoky hint to it, almost as if they mix it with bbq sauce or something but it really adds something special to the burrito. Looking forward to coming back and trying more. read more

My Husband and I pulled into the Landing Zone Cafe this morning for breakfast. They were Super busy and instead of holding up our waitress while we decided on what to eat , we asked her what she would recommend. The breakfast Burrito and Pumpkin pancake combo it is. The food was really good and plentiful. So glad we took her advice. As good as the food was, it really was the Service that put it over the top for us. Our server Shylo was fantastic. busy as it was, she was fast, helpful and beyond friendly. We were so impressed with how she handle so much, all with a smile and making us laugh. We had to come back and try the amazing new pumpkin pancakes ! We had our favorite server Kelly. She treats us like we are family She made us a to die for caramel cold brew and of course the spooky mimosa was yummy ! We took home a harvest homemade cheese cake wow amazing ! When we arrived, I was impressed by how clear it was. We sat ourselves, our drink order was taken. (It took longer than normal to get our water.) Music was playing at a nice sound! Food came out pretty fast and it was good too. Heather the waitress seemed a little busy as if she had too many tables. It appeared as if they were short staffed. I feel she could've been more attentive. We had to ask Kelly a different waitress for the check cause Heather didn't return to see if anything else was needed. Tried Calle D Landing Zone Café for the first time, and overall, it was a good experience! The interior has a nice vibe, and the music added to the atmosphere. I ordered the breakfast avocado toast--first time trying it--and it was actually really good. The only downside was the service. The waiter had a bit of an attitude, which made the experience less welcoming, but nothing too crazy. Other than that, the food was solid, and the place itself is nice. I'd come back to try more from the menu! read more

One of the best, arguably the best in Lake Elsinore. This place is literally around the corner from my old house I lived in for 7 years. My biggest regret is not trying it much sooner. Prices are very fair, portions are more than enough and the quality of food is awesome! Our server was awesome. She was friendly and attentive. I wish I remembered her name to give her all the credit she deserves. The setting has a cafe with a modern twist feel to it. Highly recommend and I can't wait to go back and try some different things on their menu! read more

the service was awful!! I honestly don't get the hype around Landing Zone Cafe. The service was slow and unorganized, and it felt like the staff didn't really care about customers. The food was overpriced for the quality nothing tasted fresh, and the portions were disappointing. The place wasn't very clean either, which made the whole experience worse. We've been coming here for years and the food has never disappointed. Unfortunately we only come here when we've got minimal plans for the day because it's consistently taken 40+ minutes to get our food even if it wasn't busy. Additionally, the service has deteriorated tremendously. On our last visit, the gentleman seating guests and cleaning tables tended to us significantly better than our designated server to the point where he brought us our food and filled our cups twice before the server bothered to check on us. Anyway, food is great, service is iffy. read more

Love that! After scanning the menu, I opted for the Whiskey Glazed Salmon with steamed broccoli and creamy garlic potatoes (which I read as mashed, but no, they're cubed). The salmon was cooked nicely and the whiskey sauce was tasty and light without being overly sweet. I think I would've preferred garlic mash potatoes, but ate a bit of the cubed ones to note they were fine. The steamed broccoli was done perfectly and NOT drowning in butter, which I greatly appreciated. Hubs was peckish, not as hungry as me and asked if he could get the kid's menu cheeseburger and fries for an upcharge. Nichelle, our friendly server, said, 'No problem, it's understood it's a smaller portion adults also like.' Great! It states that it comes with a free soda as part of the kid's menu, but Hubs had already ordered coffee, and I don't drink soda, so that was itemized along with the coffee charge, but we didn't mind because Hubs was getting exactly what he was craving. He proclaimed the cheeseburger and very soft, steamed bun as 'Yummy!' and the serving of fries 'just right.' All in all, MSKT was a delightful discovery and we would pop in again when returning to Lake Elsinore, which we will better plan for and make time to enjoy the shops along this quaint stretch. We came in Saturday for our first time ! Wow this place is definitely a hidden Gem ! We tried their pumpkin pancakes! Out of this world ! And chili verde eggs were amazing ! To top it off the salsas were incredible ! Our server was Kelly she was fantastic ! She always checked to make sure we had our coffee filled ! Both were delicious. We both chose a side of big, crispy onion rings that come with their Ranch dip. These were a nice surprise, an exceptional bonus that won our hearts. We had the pleasure of chatting with the owner, a very friendly man who has put his heart into his business, while waiting for our food to come out. As a result of that conversation, I realized I will need to try their corned beef hash someday soon. While it comes pre-made from a supplier, he emphasized that the finished dish has added ingredients to round out the flavor and make it their own. Go ahead, lure me back. I love a good hash. He also brought out a complimentary glass of his special cucumber lime beverage, house made, to share. Very refreshing and addictive. I highly recommend. The food arrived between 15-20 minutes. The fried fish (generous (2 X 4oz = 8oz) fillets of beer battered pollock) white, chunky/flakey, was fried to perfection. The mixed vegetables consisted of zucchini, carrots, red onions, no complaints. The clam chowder was good (different than the thicker/chunkier clam chowder typical to San Francisco that I'm used to, but still good, more savory). Midway through the lunch I ordered the Cajun Shrimp Pasta to go, and it was ready in about 10 minutes. All in all, I had a very good lunch experience at the Canyon Lake Country Club Bar & Grill (The food was delicious and reasonably priced (see attached menus), and the service was prompt and professional). I will definitely be a return customer and would absolutely recommend to anybody that hasn't yet tried the restaurant to drop by and give them a try.
