They were going to take my deposit for the April rent. They listed it for $400 more over my rent so they had a hard time renting it out. I left at the end of March and was told I could not back on the property because I didn't pay Aprils rent. I learned from my lawyer that was a lie, they couldn't kick me out even if I hadn't paid the rent. I should have had access to the property. Technically, they shouldn't charge me when they refused to let me on the property Home Dream Realty wouldn't fix things that were wrong with the house, I paid to have people come over and fixed the attic vents 3 times and pay the people gas, buy the plastic and duck tapes because they would not send someone out quickly. Gusty winds were blowing rain in the attic and I was trying to prevent mold. My bathroom water in the sink was dripping for over 5 months non-stop, running up my water bill and they did not fix it for 5 months and only fixed it then because I told them my dad passed away and I had to move. The Bathroom toilets were also running at a different times and it took them awhile before people came out to fix it. I ended up with almost $800 water bill. I had to take leave and go to Spotsylvania county and beg them to get rid of the bill. Kitchen sink had water leak for over a year and was never fixed until I told them I was moving. Took years to get the laundry room doors fixed, I hung a bed sheet over the door way. The landlord would never fix anything. I talked with people who lived there before me and experienced the same stuff. I have tonz more issues like this with emails, texts and printed documents to back up my claim. They sent me a list of 9 items they were trying to charge me for. Which were bogus or lies. Here are some of them. * GRASS -Said grass wasn't cut, I went the next more and the owner was there and grass did not need cut. I have photos, * Said a broom was left on the porch - Yes, because I the driveway is dirt so I didn't want people looking at the home to track dirt in the house. They stated they REMOVED the broom. That was a lie. I went there next day and the broom was on the porch still. I did not go on the property but someone else did and I took a video of them removing the broom. So saying it was removed was a lie. * Tried to charge me for a toilet holder not on the wall, that had falling off and I reported multiple times but they didn't fix it. * * Tried to 2 blind slits on the floor, I broke one and bought a replacement those were extras I was giving them, because all the blind slats were old and cracking. If you touch them they broke. I did forget to pull a few command hooks off the wall, I offered to go back but was told I couldn't go back it but it wasn't a big deal but they charged me $175 to take them off the wall. I took a picture of every wall, floor, door, ceiling, and appliance before I moved out. I even put a nice door with a code lock on it and left it for them. Beware, they don't fix items, lie in emails and try to charge you for things that were not issues. They even tried to charge me to remove a broom, for extra paint ($100) that I left for them and extra blinds I left for them. BEWARE!!!!!!! You don't want to deal with this company.

RENTERS BEWARE!…read more Renting from 1st choice better homes and land as of May 2019 Hey y'all just thought I would put a little info out there because I'm stuck with this company as my property manager. Until I can get orders or a year that can't pass soon enough. Me and my fiance bent over backwards for this company and landlord. We liked the home and were led to believe it would be clean and serviceable. That has not been the case however. Day 1 upon moving in, after the property management supposedly did a home inspection after the previous tenets left. We were only given only 2 keys and no garage door openers, the 2 keys only access the front door to get into the home. We however have 3 other doors that have different locks on them that we can't use to get in the house and the exterior door that gives access to the garage won't even lock because its taped up from the previous tenants because they probably didn't have a key for it. We noticed insects, spiders, wasps and roaches in the main house and spiders, spider eggs and roaches in the garage after I immediately called the property manager and with no answer I left a voicemail that never was returned or even acknowleged I tried emailing. Eventually when my email was finally returned I was told that the manager who did the walk through didn't see any insects. After I told them there is no way in one week while the house was closed up insects could have infested to the extent that they were, I was told basically it was my problem. When we went to wash clothes that first evening we realized the washer didn't work. After I emailed the company and was basically told again it was my problem to spend money on, I paid for a technician to come out and look at the washer he told me that the washer must not have been working for at least a few months because he had never seen a drum motor so seized up. Day 2 Verizon fios doesn't provide service down here at this address in Stafford VA they only have high speed Internet which works through phone lines, wouldn't be a problem however the phone lines don't work. Honestly I could go on and tell you about a few more things but I think I've got my point across, if you do rent a property from this company either spend a some money and pay for an home inspection or check the place out yourself after the property managers supposedly do their home inspections. Save yourself headaches and money. I don't believe asking for home to be clean and in working order is that big of a stretch apparently however for this company it is.

Can't wait to park on it was advised have to keep vehicles off the driveway until Friday 04/29/2022. So happy to be done with my gravel driveway!

Turns out we have some really odd connections... nice connections... but the kind where you are like, wow, maybe this was supposed to be. Jennifer was VERY prompt and called me the next day to say she was in the area if I wanted her to stop by and measure the driveway. I saw where someone said they got a military discount. I didn't know about the military discount, my whole family including me are military, but it wasn't mentioned. However, because we were flexible enough to work around their schedule and when there were in the neighborhood, she said they could give us a discount. It did take a couple of weeks to get it scheduled b/c I had to find financing and then I really needed that price break, so I was trying to work with their schedule. But Jennifer was great and kept in touch checking on me throughout the following weeks for when I was able to secure the funds. To sum it up, Driveways is a family owned and operated company with Jennifer, her dad, and her brother all there on the day they laid the driveway. The team got to work on demolition right away, while waiting for the items to be delivered. No Limits stayed within our budget and cleaned up a corroded valve that leaked into the kitchen. They began work on the bathrooms mid-September and finished early November. We were staying in our apartment so we weren't in a big rush. I was consulted on paint colors and tile placements. The team put in a lot of thought on how to arrange the master bathroom features, given the size. We are impressed with this team and very pleased with the final look. It's a bit of luxury for us.
