We were nickel and dimed on our security deposit and all our friends that moved had the same experience. They charged us more than we felt we owed, but strangely could not reach the staff at the view, and were ignored. They just want you to pay your bill and not argue here. For 8 months straight, our neighbors played music or the TV from 10PM till 2 AM on and off during the week and weekend. I had concierge go and warn them to stop like 8 times and filed numerous noise complaints, which I felt were not addressed properly as the issue persisted for as long as it did. Even the band that played during the day above us was quieter and more considerate than this guy. They did not care to fix this, because our neighbor was a paying resident like us and that hurts their bottom line. It doesn't matter if you break the rules here. For every problem we had here, it felt like they just want to you live with it. Just like the roaches that infested the building for a time, or when our AC was broken for a month and our apartment reached temps as high as 90 F. They couldn't believe the problem wasn't fixed. This is the experience you will get here, they just want the problem (you) to go away and pay your rent in peace. Literal garbage landed onto our balcony all throughout our stay from other residents tossing their trash from the roof or their balcony. I've seen report cards, boxes and dental floss thrown onto my balcony. It was disgusting. The resident events went downhill in quality and effort. The community is also not really here anymore. Everyone seems angry, and people drive like maniacs in the garage. The elevators are often broken down and in need of repair, often putting residents into a constraint of 1 elevator during our time here When we told the office we'd move out and afterwards made maintenance request, it took them three days to fix it. And they only did so after we went to the leasing office to address it. It was fixed twenty minutes after speaking to the leasing office We booked our loading dock slot and were told a week later that another person reserved it (by email, not via the reservation system). We were informed that it was a glitch, but it shouldn't take two weeks for a glitch in the system to be noticed. They prioritize at all costs, new residents. Once you've sent in your notice to move out, you become chopped liver. If you're thinking of the view, go somewhere cheaper. They raise rents 5% or more every year, and don't provide more value in return. Not to mention the apartment industry in DC is full of price collusion. Go across the street, live somewhere else. You can have a View anywhere.

I've been living at Water Park Towers for over five and half years, and the only time I've moved has been to upgrade to a bigger apartment in the same building. There are many reasons for my above-average length of residency here, and all of them reflect well upon the building, its surrounding community and neighborhood, and the great Water Park Towers team that help this place to thrive. Let's begin with the building, itself. Constructed in the late 80s and recently having newly-renovated each unit upon vacancy, the building presents itself as having both been cozily lived in for years, while at the same time feeling exciting and brand new. The amenities are second-to-none, with a full gym, grill deck, pool, event and conference rooms and community wi-fi open to all residents in the common areas. As for the individual apartment units, they are also stacked with good stuff. As I mentioned, all units, upon vacancy, are renovated to a luxurious standard. Hard surface flooring, walk-in closets, in-home washer and dryer, AMAZING views of the airport, the D.C. monuments, and the upscale Crystal City/Pentagon City neighborhoods (depending on which way you're facing), Smart Home technology (you can unlock your door and control your thermostat from halfway around the world!) and other great features truly make every unit in Water Park Towers feel like a home. And that's just life inside the building; the surrounding neighborhood is great, too. Then place is called "Water Park Towers" because the building sits right next door to a recently renovated outdoor venue that features multiple, upscale gourmet food kiosks, a sound stage for concerts, a rooftop bar and - yes - a cascading man-made waterfall after which both the park and the apartment complex are named. It's a great place to come for a stroll, grab some Thai food, maybe have a drink and just relax at one of the many outdoor tables. Also, along Crystal Drive, you'll find a Whole Foods directly across the street, a CVS right by that, an Alamo Draft House Cinema showing all of the latest films (and some retro classics, too). Transportation wise, you're a five-minute walk from the Crystal City Metro station, and the building is extremely ride-share friendly due to its close location to Highway 1. Also, for exercise, there is a MASSIVE outdoor park complex just down the street that hosts collegiate-level soccer and LaCross matches, and doing a loop around both large fields is equal to almost a mile and a half worth of steps. Lastly, what makes Water Park Towers truly special is the talented team of professionals that work here. For starters, whenever I have had ANY issues related to maintenance -- anything from a leaky faucet to a busted dishwasher -- those issues have been resolved quickly and expertly by the highly skilled onsite maintenance team that keep this place running smoothly. Probably my most endearing memory of all the calls for maintenance I have put in was from back on the 4th of July in 2022. It was a really, REALLY hot summer that year, my AC just couldn't take it anymore, and so it gave out. It was a holiday, and I didn't expect it to get fixed too quickly. But, not one hour after putting in an emergency maintenance request, a technician was on site to get my apartment nice and chilled again. It was awesome. When it comes to customer/resident courtesy, there is a 24/7 concierge manning the main lobby. This person is always there to hand you your recently-delivered Amazon packages, direct your take-out delivery person where to go, and to even let you into the building when you have forgotten your keys (just make sure to have your ID on you.) Lastly, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the wonderful front office staff who are always standing by to make sure that living at Water Park Towers is as great an experience it can possibly be. Whenever I have questions about my rent, my lease, questions about moving into a bigger unit (which I recently did, and the view of the airport is GREAT) the team of consultants down in the front office are always there to respond to my queries as professionally and expeditiously as possible. They truly are a talented team of professionals who really do care about the residents of Water Park Towers having a fulfilling, sustained and satisfactory living experience. For all the reasons listed above, I think it must be pretty apparent that I view the Water Park Towers Team and the building they manage as being fully worthy of FIVE STARS! Unfortunately, the persistent issues this building has will take away your peace of mind. Rats and insects will be a routine problem in this apartment. I knew pest control on a first-name basis after so many visits. The heating did not work in my apartment for the first two years in this building. You will smell marijuana in the hallways. The elevators in a building with 17 floors will break down all the time. Last-minute notices where the trash room is made unavailable. Far too many instances where the building does not have hot water. The AC system will break down for weeks every summer. A fire broke out a few years ago that eliminated the ability to use the laundry rooms for all residents for months. A recent pipe burst eliminated any access to water. A current pipe project in the building will restrict water access for tenants for eight hours at least once or twice a week. Management will not credit or discount your rent in any of these situations. If you are considering a career in the military or the foreign service, be sure to add a military or diplomatic clause into the lease. The Civil Service Relief Act and the Foreign Service Families Act will give you the right to cancel a lease once you have military or diplomatic orders. In my own experience, the leasing office will complicate your efforts in exercising the benefits of this law. No follow-up comment is needed, no need for a request to meet, nor an apology is needed; management should leverage that time to do a better job.

We heard another vehicle was broken into as well. We pay to park in a "secure" and monitored garage. We reported the break in to the police. Since this has happened management has done nothing to inform the other residents and they have yet to call the police themselves to review video footage. Yet when someone's tires were stolen an email was sent. Their lack of concern and their oh well attitude does not sit right with me. They only reached out to us because my husband sent them an email. Luckily it wasn't a person that was hurt, but it still takes away your sense of feeling safe. All we want is for them to inform the residents who live here. Why is that so hard? Management wanted to meet with us but we were unavailable the day they wanted to meet. My husband offered two other days that would work that have since passed.They never reached out. We have heard nothing else from them. Now at this point I want to speak to there manager not to the management staff that offers no help. 3 weeks tomorrow and still nothing.

Prior to moving in, I was concerned about noise from the fire department being within close proximity and I have to say it's not an issue. My apartment is very quiet and it's great. One thing I would like to note is if you have any issues with dogs, this apartment building may not be for you. I know some people don't like dogs or have allergy issues, so please keep that in mind. The only issue I have with dogs in the apartment building is preventing myself from petting them all.
