We have had regular maintenance, a breakdown/service call, and new equipment with Lang 72 Degrees. For regular maintenance, we feel the cost factor is competitive and service is excellent. A couple of years ago our A/C unit stopped working on a 96 degree day. Lang had someone here and they were able to get us up and running within a few hours. We knew our unit was near the end of it's life (and so did Lang) but they never pressured us to buy a new unit. My wife & I started using Lang 72 Degrees for service to our air conditioning 2 years ago. I can not tell you how happy we are to have contracted with them. The secretary calls several days prior to the appointment to confirm the date & time & then recalls the morning of the appointment to make sure we are still on for service. If there is a possible earlier appointment we again get a call stating they can come over earlier than expected. This is quite unusual for most businesses. Our service tech (Craig) is extremely friendly, knowledgeable & courteous. Craig actually makes you feel as though you are his most important appointment for the day & takes time to explain exactly what he will be doing. We upgraded our system last year with a Ionizing system & extrat filtration as to their request. My wife has not had an allergy problem ever since this was done. After the appointment, we again receive a call from the secretary within 2 days to confirm we were happy with the work & is there anything else they can do for us. This is absolutely Fantastic Customer Service at it's best. It has been a little over a month & we received a post card from the owner asking if we were happy & if needed to contact him via email or phone. As a prior business owner (real estate brokerage firm) one appreciates hearing good comments & I enjoy giving the credit where it is deserved. Lang's business practices are highly questionable. They use fear tactics to try and sell new equipment. Preying on seniors in Sun City is pretty low. Service told me " I sure hope you have carbon monoxide detectors, your furnace heat exchanger is about to go" 1it was not true and 2 the heat exchanger is covered by the manufacturer for 20 years. We contracted with Lang's to handle our heating and air system almost two years ago, and we are not very happy at the moment. We've been trying to get our twice-yearly preventative maintenance done for nearly two months now. They keep rescheduling us at the last minute with no warning and no explanation. Most recently, they didn't contact us to reschedule at all; the technician simply didn't show up. When we called to question it, we were told our appointment was going to be later in the week. When we first started with Lang's, we were satisfied with the quality of service, as well as the responsiveness. They made several trips back to the shop for additional parts/tools causing installers dead time waiting and taking much longer. Very unprepared considering they do lots of installations. My brother in law who owns a HVAC company in Atlanta recommended Lang after the company that had been servicing our vacation home tried to sell me equipment that was builder grade and also had not done a good enough evaluation as to the damage I had incurred in my ductwork due to the system failing. The company I was using wanted me to pay to have my ducts biofogged which in essence would have removed my mildew smell temporarily. They also were going to charge me an extraordinarily large sum of money to replace those system with builder grade equipment. When Lang 72 Degrees came they immediately sent a camera in my ducts and was able to show me just how bad the damage was. I would have had a very unhealthy house had I gone with the other company. Lang negotiated a very fair price to replace my 2 systems with a Top 3 HVAC system and replace all my ductwork. They were extremely professional arriving on time, protected my household items and flooring, provided me with a window air unit while my systems were not working, were extremely quiet and very informative letting me know each day what would be accomplished.
