This property is just a short drive from Canby. When you first arrive, there is a beautiful gated entrance. You have the option of going to the red shed, the orchards, white house, restaurant, and/or golf course. My friend and I only went to the restaurant since it was a cold weekday. The atmosphere was very warm, reminiscent of a cabin. Many historic photos of the property adorned the walls. The high arching ceiling made the room feel so expansive. Service was quick and accommodating, granted we were the first patrons there. They were willing to make a bunch of substitutions without extra cost. And when my friend asked for extra half and half, she got a whole handful. Food wise, I was pretty pleased with my chicken fried steak. The meat was nice and thin, well coated, and fried just right. The gravy was well seasoned with a great consistency. The subbed green beans were buttery, full of garlic, and barely blistered. Overall I was pretty pleased with our experience. My husband and I really love coming here. The atmosphere is amazing In spring and summer. Love having lunch or dinner on the patio. We've been coming here for several years. Maybe 10-20 overall. Always have a good time here. Golfing is beautiful! The service in the evenings hasn't been a great experience for a few years. Had some great servers who we had a friendly relationship with. Then there are those who are not that friendly AT ALL! I've been a bit frustrated with one in particular. We've been nothing but extremely nice and engaging and she is just NOT! EVER. It's as almost she's annoyed with us. I'm Sad that this is the case as we love coming here. I'm surprised as there aren't more complaints about her. I would never want her to get fired. But she needs a customer service training. Again! I'm so sad that this is happening here at Langdon. five stars overall for atmosphere. I had a good outdoor dining experience at Langdon's Grill, and would rate it at 3.5 to 4 stars. With the restaurants setting on a golf course, the ambiance is very nice, as one might expect. Service was good, but there were some ordering mistakes made amongst our party of 6 (but all ended up okay). We started off with two apps -- the shrimp dip, and the spinach & artichoke dip; both served with some soft pita bread. I enjoyed both of the dips, but found the S&A dip to be more flavorful. Nothing dazzling, but good. For an entree, I ordered the halibut fish and chips. The fish was bright white and fresh, but the batter could have been more crisp, and the amount of fish was a little scant for the price. The chips were thick, with a nice, crisp, golden exterior; and were probably the best part of the dish. Cole slaw was good, but average. For dessert, my wife and I split the apple crisp, which was warmed, and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. As with everything else we tried, it was good, but nothing that dazzled the palate. This is a super comfortable, welcoming environment. My husband and I met some family for lunch and the entire experience was wonderful! The staff was excellent and attentive, the drinks were soooo good! I had the Chicken Hazelnut Salad (grilled chicken, roasted hazelnuts, dried cherries & gorgonzola served with a blueberry pomegranate vinaigrette, $17.99) and loved every single bite of it! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and I enjoyed the blueberry pomegranate vinaigrette very much. I have to admit I didn't think it was anything better than I'd eaten elsewhere. Don't get me wrong because it was still very good! My husband really liked this BBQ Brisket Sandwich (slow-cooked Brisket, BBQ sauce, pickle, crispy onion straws & pepper jack cheese on a pub bun, $16.99) however like me he didn't think it was anything extraordinary. But he would recommend it! The real winner of this entire meal was the Chocolate Cake ($8.00 for a whopping big slice). Delectable, moist cake with sweet, smooth frosting. It was so rich, so thick and chocolatey. You've got to try it. All in all, the food is pretty cliché as to what you can expect at a golf club. Tastes delicious but nothing unique. While the wait staff were great, the kitchen staff obviously were not. They messed up a few of our orders and they had to be sent back into the kitchen for correction. The quality of the food was average. It just was not anything great. We had a party of 6 people. Here was the rundown: 3 people got Prime Rib dips. They looked like something you might find in an airport restaurant. It came with some unspectacular-looking side salad. 1 person (me) got the Crispy Chicken Salad. It was fine, I can't complain, but again, just not exciting. I've had better ones from other restaurants. 2 people got a fish entree and baked potato/vegetables. This was probably the best thing anyone got. They gave us all free dessert and coffee, which was really cool of them! They're trying! But I think the recipes need improvement. Anyhow, there ya go. Will we return? I'd say we have about a 50-50 chance. The people we went with go there fairly often and like it more than we do. read more

Had to ask for a wine list, waited, then finally got our wine...no one in the place. Ordered our meals, got our salads and with in 5 min got our dinner. Really? That's horrible!!!! She just opened our bottle of wine. So we end up eating a dramatically over cooked, small portion of Salomon and a decent pork loin. Nothing from the waitress...when she finally shows up and we tell her how disappointed we are that our meal came at the same time as our salad and basically our wine, this worthless server could only LAUGH, yes LAUGH! It restores you to good humor and you feel like you can take on the world once again. So in my search for someplace nice and different close to work, I stopped in here for lunch. It has been a couple years since my last visit. Beautiful open barn-style space with a restaurant and full bar. The breakfast, lunch and dinner menus all have great choices. I had the Fiesta Chicken sandwich with a side salad. The salad and dressing were fresh and tasty. The sandwich would have been great, but the chicken was overcooked. The drinks were served in glass jugs and the salt and pepper are in cute little baby glass jugs. The menu covered all the bases, healthy and not, and although it was a little on the expensive side ($8 - 11 lunch entrees), portions were generous. Will I return? Oh, yes. It really did feel like a bit of an oasis from my day and I think there are better dishes to try next time around. read more

We tried this place for the first time though we've been meaning to for awhile. This is on a golf course and they also do weddings, we took a look at this place when we were planning our wedding. We sat outside, which was really nice, it is a nice golf course and it was a beautiful sunny afternoon. The service was excellent throughout, I liked our server and she was friendly, attentive, and approachable. We both had margaritas and they were served in mason jars, tasted great. The food was good but it could have been better. I had the French onion soup to start and that was delicious. My husband ordered a New York steak sandwich and it was good but the steak was super gristly, not all of it was edible. I ordered cheese stuffed shells and they were delicious, I enjoyed them, but they were certainly a simple dish, not really worth the money. For me, a lot of dining out is about the service and atmosphere and this was a great little venue to check out. We will be back to try some more things on the menu. read more

Monday night service was very good. They weren't very busy. We were seated immediately and we're well cared for. My husband and father both had the stroganoff which had great flavor but the meat was a lot of gristle. My dinner salad and mom's salmon were perfect. Beautiful setting, great menu. We were expecting great things from Langdon Farms Grill after hearing from a friend that this was the place to be.,especially for prime rib. We made a reservation and had an inside table for two. Once we arrived and were seated, we asked for the next available table outside on their patio since they don't take reservation for outside dining. Once seated, I saw some friends outside and went out to say hello. I was confronted immediately when I returned inside by one of the restaurant managers saying "you can't do that!" I was a little taken aback thinking I should have worn my mask outside while talking to my friends...but the mask requirement had been lifted by Gov. Brown for more than a week. Instead the manager accused me of trying to talk to seated guests and asking for their table when they leave. I told him I was talking to some friends but he was not satisfied. The manager continued on and said he knew we wanted an outside table and assumed the worst when he saw me talking to my friends. After my explanation, he was not at all convincing in his apology. After returning to my inside table we immediately asked for the Senior Manager to ask if this how guest are treated. Brandon, the Senior Manager was very apologetic and said he would talk with his "young assistant". We were not looking for a free meal nor any special treatment, but to make sure others are not treated the same way and handled with a reasonable amount of respect...possibly an apology from the offender would have even been nice. I told Brandon that this is a "learning opportunity" for his young manager. We decided not to leave after all, and eventually had dinner with drinks. We were seated outside by Brandon with nice service from the other polite waitress. Paid the bill with a decent tip...but no follow up or apology was given. As Brandon said, "you are our guest", I think Langdon Farm Grill needs some serious management training. As first time visitors, we left with a bad taste and are not sure if we will return anytime soon. read more

I have been here many times for lunch, and for rib night, which is fantastic. However, I usually have the shrimp crab louie which has been wonderful and just full of crab and shrimp. I just had that, and I swear that there was a tablespoon of crab, and a slightly larger portion of shrimp . I'll still come here but not for the louie. This review is for the restaurant, which is always pleasant and boasts beautiful views. I especially like the patio dining with the stunning flower baskets in the summer. The service is always solid and friendly. The food, mostly sandwiches, salads, and soups are good. I've never been to brunch here but have heard good things about french toast and omelets. There's nothing here that I couldn't do better at home, but it's a pleasant gathering place that fits the range of ages, from children to seniors, for my family. read more

Disappointing Rib Dinner. My 1/2 rack looked more like 1/4 rack. Oversteamed(?) prior to being put on grill. Flavorless, fall off the bone too easily, meat. Except for a really nice sauce that was grudgingly supplied atop the riblets there wasn't a lot to like. The Mac & Cheese, though served hot, was nothing other than ordinary. The stuffed potatoes, also served hot, was the high point of the meal. Though it doesn't arrive as a potato skin with stuffed potato, it was well seasoned and tasty. The Carrot cake, one of my favorites, was also a disappointment. It may have had too much allspice. The cream cheese frosting tasted surprisingly sour. Nothing delicious about it. It looked and tasted like it came off of a Sysco truck. I attended a wedding yesterday at Langdon Farms and really enjoyed it. The ceremony was held next to the barn overlooking the golf course and countryside, a pretty, picturesque setting for a wedding. The wait staff did a terrific job preparing the table settings and buffet table. The food was also very good - fresh salad and fruit, green beans, amazing mash potatoes and tender juicy grilled chicken. The first round of dessert were two kinds layered fruit cheesecake in mason jars, very cute. Before the reception, we had a few drinks in the club house. It's really neat inside; cedar wood, high ceilings and big windows. It reminded me a bit of a ski lodge but more country club/barn-themed. I would definitely recommend Langdon Farms as a venue for an celebratory event. read more
