My homies decided to check out this place. Langostino's is seafood with a big heavy mexican influence (hence the name). You can order a giant fish bowl of horchata or a strawberry margarita. When seated, you get a basket of saltine crackers and instead of your standard chips, tostada shell chips. A small bowl of pico de gallo and some other super spicy sauce comes with it as well, with the plate circled with limes. The pico was phenomenal. It had the usual tomato, cilantro, onions, and seasoning, but there was small chunks of fish meat in there (which was first mistaken to be garlic), which was great. It sounds weird, but let me tell you, the pico did not have a fishy taste at all... I'm a texture guy and I really enjoyed it. To my dismay, my friend wanted the oysters..... with cheese. I love me oysters raw, but wanted to be a team player and agreed to it. The appetizer came with two different sizes -- we went with the 8. It was as expected. The cheese pretty much masked the small gems of oyster. I do have to say the cheese sauce was pretty good. I used it to dip my tostada shell/chips with em. For my main dish, I went with the Filete Relleno, which was a stuffed fillet (I'm guessing tilapia) topped with cheese, shrimp, imitation crab meat, mushrooms, and scallops. The order came with a small little salad that consisted mostly of iceberg lettuce, tomato, and a cucumber, a cup of some rice mix, and a pretty nice portion of fries. I don't know how they made the fries, but it seriously was really good. It had a really nice crispiness to it and whatever the fries were seasoned with, it was great. I was really impressed. In regards of the fillet and everything else on the plate, it was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and I was stuffed. Service was A-OK... could be better. There was a separate occasions where we asked for water, or a refill of pico, and we would either have to remind him after past 10-minutes or so. It turns out, the pico is not complimentary; we asked for a refill, which we got, and then later on asked for another, and the server informed us the first was free (not sure about the second, but we didn't get charged). Not a big deal, and I'm not complaining. But yeah, if you think it's like asking for more salsa with your chips, you can, just know that it's not free. Again, not complaining, just more of a "ooooh, I'm sorry.... didn't know." BATHROOM REVIEW: Located at the very front of the restaurant (there are two entrances to the restaurant, I'm referring to the side on Busse Rd, not Dempster) it is a one person bathroom for Men's. Inside, the bathroom was decently spacious, with room for a toilet, urinal, and sink. I elected to use the urinal and it worked fine. There was no paper towel dispenser, which I have mixed-feelings about, because sure, it saves the planet, but I hate rubbing my hands forever, and prolonging being in a bathroom that I don't really enjoy in general. Sit or squat? Squat.

This is a really great Mexican/seafood restaurant in the area! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for fresh sea food, a lot of complimentary small introduction dishes are given as well. The food here can get very expensive but there are also inexpensive dishes as well. If you like spicy food you'll love it here too - tons of spicy options. All fresh and homemade sauces and foods - 5 stars!

This place great! Upon sitting down, we were served ceviche with tostadas and a spicy sauce. Most options seemed huge so I went with the tacos de pescado and tostada de pulpo. Surprisingly the fish a d octopus had an amazing flavor. The orchata I ordered was really good too. Definitely recommend trying this place out.

Move in around the area from Chicago. First time visiting this restaurant since I'm a big into Mexican seafood restaurants. Also order Red Snapper and Langostino's. First review, the red snapper was very small for $25.50 and way over priced. Second review, order the half order of Langostino's. 10 small pieces for $25.99. ARE YOU KIDDING ME = Highway robbery and it was just cooked in butter. This was a ONE AND DONE from me. Never going back again. I will make the extra drive back downtown Chicago. Also, service was very slow.

The entire restaurant, including bathrooms were clean and everything appears to be very organized. We are agreed immediately upon entering the restaurant and then immediately after we sat by your server. We were promptly served warm bread, which was absolutely delicious and not long after that our French onion soup was delivered. It was picture perfect in fact check out the picture below. It was incredibly delicious and yes, I would say that it is crave worthy. Our salads were delivered next and honestly not a very exciting experience. They were just a lettuce mixture that seemed to come out of a bag without any tomatoes or cucumbers, or onions or croutons or anything other than just plain, generic salad, yes disappointing. I will also say that it did take a little too long for our entrées to come. We ordered the shrimp De Johnge and the baby back ribs. The length of time to get to us was definitely too long, but the taste, portion and flavors are absolutely excellent and definitely met our expectations. Our server was friendly and helped us with the menu and was very attentive to our needs. Overall, I will definitely return as it is a great local thank you restaurant with very delicious food. As much as I want to give only four stars because of the salad, I will give five stars because of the French onion soup and our entrées.

The sushi isnt impressive but no one cares... theres a tub of sesame oil and just so many fun things you cant explore in one visit... the earlier you get there for lunch (11am) the more pretty the buffet looks. The hotpot dishes come out in small batches so double up on the proteins you like because service is slower when its busy. The meat selection was good. The grill and personal heating hot plates for individual soups was a love hate relationship. I loved that everyone had their personal hotspot, but because there was both the grill and all the individual pots, the table space was very cramped. Also, the space between tables was so tight that every time a person from the next table over would get up, we would get shoved in our seat. I loved that there were so many soup bases to choose from. I was not happy with some of the staff. Particularly staff that were refilling the buffet of vegetables and ingredients. There was one in particular that would literally push her way to the trays without saying excuse me or anything. She threw metal tongs across the trays. Multiple times, she would physically push people out of the way and barreling her way in between people in line. The layout of the buffet of veggies and ingredients doesn't allow for good flow, so it felt very cramped which made her behavior was very off putting.

There's also discrepancy in their menu and what they actually have available as it seems they also display items for the the cafe next door. We happened to arrive during happy hour so some menu items were discounted. They also have a complimentary salad bar. We ordered chicken karaage, potstickers, salmon avocado sushi, and I had the katsu sandwich. All the food items we ordered came separately over a span of 20+ minutes, with the sandwich arriving last and cold. Not only did the sandwich come on a cold sourdough bread, the meat also had an unusual texture and so I ended up throwing it out. The other items we ordered were lacking in flavor. The chicken karaage was prepared well but it had no flavor. I'm regret spending money at this establishment.

So we got out of the car and saw someone pull up in front of the restaurant and jump out at 11:59. As soon as the door was unlocked at 12pm, this customer went in, and a few others after them. This is a small joint, and it was already half full by the time we ordered, then sat down (they told us the table at which to sit). I didn't know, but asked, and found out that a salad bar and miso soup are also included. The salad bar was pretty decent, with fresh vegs. They even had French fried onions (my guilty pleasure) and a very good House dressing (ginger vinaigrette). The portions are enormous. The couple next to us got ramen, and it was practically overflowing. We ordered takoyaki (too much food, we didn't need). I had the Pork Katsu bowl and my companion had a Katsu curry. I wished I had ordered the curry -- it looked dark and rich and thick like pudding (not like a boxed curry). They also gave us a bonus piece of chicken karaage which was so large and crispy. I think I'll get the curry next time, or the ramen. We originally came because we were going to get a karaage sando, but get the curry.
