    Orange Chicken Lunch
    Lauren N.

Food: The Mongolian beef was good and enjoyable. I do wish it had some heat, but the flavor was still solid. There was a bit more onion than beef, but the overall ratio was fine. 8/10. The orange chicken was tasty and very tender. Unfortunately, I found one piece that was undercooked after getting home. Aside from that, the dish was good. Likely just an off day. 6/10 due to the raw piece, but I'd still give it another try. Service: The staff was really nice and welcoming from start to finish. 10/10 Overall: I gave 3 stars due to a piece of raw chicken, but the service was excellent and I'd be open to coming back.

For a long time there's been a Chinese restaurant here in this Arlington Heights plaza north of the Metra station, so people must like it. It varies on how much they like it though. Bistro Chen has a variety of Asian classics. Get Chinese, Japanese and others. The prices are better for the lunch specials. Came here recently at lunch to see if it was still as good. It wasn't busy and we quickly got a table inside. The lunch time is the best time because the prices are cheaper and the portions are still pretty big it seems. Also there's cocktails. It's about $8 for the cheapest ones. Blue Lagoon is one of the cheapest. This is made with Blue Curacao, lemon, lemonade, and vodka. It's lemony. While also still being sweet. It's about $10 for lunch entrees. We each got the Stir Fried Noodles. Choose the noodles and protein for it. I had it with the chow mein. Protein was tofu. Good flavor and very healthy. This was certainly enough for a lunch. Has almost all of the Asian cuisines on the menu yet it still manages to make everything. It may be a lot to keep track of and makes it hard to master any of these. The Chinese stuff is pretty good, and you can make many items okay for vegans and vegetarians.

Great entrees. We had the Sweet and Sour fish and Sesame beef. Horrible desserts. The rolled ice cream did not taste good at all and they had the audacity to call it a house special. It doesn't even look like cookies and cream.

This was a decent place for ayce. I haven't been here in awhile. This location is ayce with no drink for $28 and if you want to have a drink then it'll be $38. What's included are nigiri, maki, traditional Chinese dishes, appetizers, and dessert. The downside is that their hours are very limited. They need to open longer to attract more customers and to maximize the value of the ayce. Since it's in the burbs, parking was not a problem. You can either park in the garage or find street parking. Our service wasn't as slow as other reviewers, we were able to get our food in a reasonable amount of time. Food quality was okay, it's going to be decent since it's ayce. You're not going to get top tier quality if that's what you're looking for. Overall a 3.5 for me.

I begged them for no waterchestnuts and obviously that's what I got. (lots of them) very sad but otherwise really friendly people. No worries, i'll just pick them out I guess.

Ayce sushi for lunch $28. Vast selection even included noodles! I tried the Singapore and Beef Chow Fun. General Tso Chicken, Lo Mein, nice loose leaf green tea in a personal pot. Crab rangoons came with something. Hot Sour Soup. All was great. Service great. It was dark, that was my only complaint. Cute outside dining area but no one was in there the 2 times I went.

Both the service and quality of food has gone way down from what they were famous for. The waitress spilled my tea, also dipped her finger in my tea, had no apology or offer to exchange it with a fresh cup. I had to ask her for a fresh cup of tea. Then the other server that brought our entrees spilled my husbands tea and again no offering to getting a fresh cup. We had to ask AGAIN for a fresh cup! While the portions were generous, the quality of all the food has gone way down. The special family recipe of thier shrimp dish Gan Pong is nothing but fried shrimp with dried chili peppers and no flavor. The Hunan spicy beef and chicken appeared to be all globs and sticky because of excessive and over use of corn starch used during the cooking process. This dish didn't have any unique flavor that one would expect. Previously we had experienced a difference in the food, taste and quality and that's what kept us returning. Sadly, after this experience I wouldn't recommend it to anyone or come back! I'd rather stick with Yu's Mandarin than drive to this place! Quality always wins over quantity in my books!

The steam baskets were removed from our table pretty quickly after they were emptied. Plenty of parking here and the restaurant wasn't too crowded yet, early on a Monday. Here's what I ordered: 1) Roti Canai served with Malaysian chicken curry - the curry is unlike Indian curry. This is a typical Malaysian style curry. You take a piece of the crispy yet a little chewy pan fried dough and dipped in this curry broth. That combination will kick off your appetite. 2) Seafood and Tofu clay pot - a mix of fish fillet, squid, shrimp, vegetables and homemade tofu served in a clay pot. She gave me a good description and mentioning it had some spice to it, but not offensive. It was exactly what my husband wanted. It wasn't overly breaded and the sauce was sweeter, savory with a little heat. He was a happy man. The fried rice had plenty of chicken and cooked well. The portions were huge! I also ordered beef and broccoli Cantonese chow mein. This was delicious! There was so much beef and broccoli, the sauce wasn't salty and went perfect with the chow mein noodles. We ordered egg rolls and crab rangoons too. Both we were good. The wrapper was a little thicker than I prefer, but they were both good. I live in Chicago, but I've gone here several times to buy Chinese food for my parents who live about a mile away. Inside, there are a few chairs, and maybe a table. The kitchen and where you order is behind a counter and glass wall. There is nothing fancy about it, but Chopstick is meant to be a carry-out restaurant, so it's not a problem. They prefer cash but will take a credit card and charge 3-percent extra. That said, the entrees are bargain-priced and are served in generous portions. I recently ordered food for myself and a neighbor on a busy Father's Day. I did not order ahead, but it only took 15 minutes to prepare my order. I requested no MSG, and I was told that they do not use any--so that's a big plus for anyone who wants to avoid it. They have all the usual Chinese-American favorites, including their house special that has shrimp, chicken and beef. But the ingredients they use are fresh and high-quality--and that sets them apart from most carry-out restaurants of this type. My only complaint was that of my two orders, they mixed up the entrees--my neighbor was supposed to get the house special, and my husband was supposed to get the chicken and vegetable dish. But even though the entrees were mixed up, everyone was happy with what they received. If I lived closer, Chopsticks (cute name) would be my go-to Chinese-American restaurant. Overall, I have to say, this food ranks as some of the best Indian food I have had in the Chicagoland area. I was pleasantly surprised considering it's such an unassuming location. They have a mix of South Indian, Punjabi and Indochinese. For our starter, we ordered Gobi Manchurian. This was super flavorful, and had prominent ginger elements. The South Indian options were amazing. The dosa was perfectly cooked and the sambar had an amazing flavor. We were left practically licking our plates. My sister had the rasam vada, which was perfect for a cold night. The chana bhatura was delicious. One piece of advice is they do offer this and all other options with varying spice levels. For the Chana, we ordered a mild for my nephew and medium for me. The medium was pretty hot but the flavors were unmatched. The mild was a bit too sweet for my taste. Other honorable mentions worth trying were the chicken kadai and veg noodles. Probably the only disappointment was the paneer tikka. The flavor was off and almost inedible. On my recent first visit, I found the restaurant to be inviting and having a nice ambiance. It was clean and well lit. My party and I had a late dinner. We received good service. We were seated promptly upon arrival. We were served water right away. One of the staff members informed us to scan a QR code to get the menu of the restaurant and place our order from our mobile device directly. We ordered South Indian dishes such as dosas and uttapam. Dosas, for those who may not be familiar, are like savory crepes made from rice batter and uttapam are like savory pancakes made from rice and urad dal (an Indian grain) batter. The uttapams my party ordered were of the onion and chilies kind and came with dipping sides of sambar (lentil and veggie stew) and three chutneys (coconut, peanut, and one other kind that I can't remember). The dosas also came with the same sides. My order was different from the others. I ordered Madurai Kitchen's special dosa made with minced mutton (goat) in spices. I was expecting a traditional dosa with mutton stuffed inside, but no. This dish looked like thick uttapam but smelled like dosa, and it came with a side of curry dal as a dipping side instead of sambar and chutneys. I inquired about it, and one of the staff members said that that's how it served. Strange but cool, I guess. I found my dish to be okay in taste. It lacked a bit of salt, and the flavor wasn't quite what I had expected. I had thought that it would be spicy, but it wasn't. I used the chutneys from other members of my party's dishes for an enhanced tasting experience. The rest of the folks in my party liked their dishes a lot. Their dishes were good. Overall, we had a good experience. The menu pricing is on the expensive side (more than I expected), but the food quality and service were good. If you like South Indian food, then this restaurant is definitely worth checking out. I will be going back to try other menu items.
