Thought we would drop by some drinks and bites while we take shade from the sun. Big mistake. Our food was mediocre at best and may be made to cater to people who do not enjoy authentic Mexican food. Food aside, the service was abysmal. Actually, we would have to have received service to be able to call it such. We watched table after table get service while they turn a blind eye to us. They were only at our table when they dropped off the food and drinks and that was it. Had to ask for napkins, got my drink wrong, and then ignoring us on top of that. Terrible. They actually had the audacity to confront us if we were going to give them a tip or not, and when we said no, another server came over to ask us why not. We said we didn't get any service only to be met yet again with so much rudeness. I highly recommend people to not go there. It's over priced for what it is anyways. read more

I love coming here for dinner to eat great food, enjoy the drinks, and enjoy arch the sunset. I've never seen a better sunset! I looove the filet mignon and shrimp. The guacamole is the best. And everything else I've tried is great. Sitting on the beach is beautiful if you don't mind the sand. Street vendors will try to sell you stuff while you're eating, but I don't mind. Just say "no gracias" and they'll move it along. read more

Last day in Puerto Vallarta and were so glad we walked in here! This lobster was really well prepared and very delicious. Piña colada were strong but not so strong i couldnt enjoy it. Our favorite time to go here is for breakfast. The prices are very reasonable and there is a good selection. We love the huevos rancheros and chilaquiles. One day we stopped for lunch and I had some awesome shrimp ceviche. They give you a big portion, too. Pablo was our server a few times, and he is great! Omar was his helper, so he is learning from the best. The only reason for 4/5 is that their credit card machine never seems to be working. read more

I'm so sick after eating here and started antibiotics this afternoon. This was maybe our 6th time eating here and went for our last dinner on the beach with our feet in the sand. They told us up front they were out of many items but couldn't explain why. We ordered the mahi mahi which we love normally in PV. The fish was old, it smelled and it was over cooked. You will not find a better ambiance on the beach if you want a view of the sun setting and the pier lighting up all different colors as it gets dark. If you are here during a more crowded time of year they save the tables on the beach for folks having dinner and drinks. My husband and I arrived at the perfect time to watch the sun setting with our first drinks of the evening. We are not very big eaters and tend to share an appetizer and meal. We opted for the local shrimp cocktail and chips with guacamole. Everything was very fresh and good. We especially liked how they made their guacamole. The food is just okay but the view, people watching and service are all top notch. read more

My parents winter home is in Puerto Vallarta, actually they spend as much time down there as they do at home in Nevada. So maybe I should say that they have a summer home in Northern Nevada. This was our first stop after settling in from the airport at their condo. We had dinner on the beach. We also had lunch a couple of days later and breakfast a couple of days after that. Shrimp is the key word here! (Besides sunset view Oceanside beach seating and fresh cool cocktails) Shrimp is the main reason I love it. Shrimp Diablo, Garlic Shrimp, Coconut etc etc etc.... Mexican style Shrimp on the Pacific coast of Mexico does not have an equal in Reno or anywhere else I've been to in the states. Including San Diego where I lived for a couple of years. That mostly goes for all shrimp in restaurants in Mexico on the coast but even with that Langostino's is pretty much my all-time favorite. The shrimp is large, fresh and amazingly simple and damn delicious. First night there I was so excited and hungry from traveling I got the coconut shrimp as an appetizer and the garlic shrimp as my main course. They don't serve the refried beans, loads of cheese, and over abundance of sauces like most places in the states do. Just a well seasoned and marinated shrimp, along with a small amount of white flavored rice, and steamed vegetables along a with few homemade tortillas. This is pretty much par for the course for most Mexican restaurants, or as I imagine that they call them in Mexico "restaurants " The only place I was served refried beans on the entire trip was with my Chiliquilis for breakfast here later in the week . And they were most definitely homemade. Langostino's also has fabulous service, very friendly servers and of course that amazing oceanfront view. You can eat inside, inside meaning under a open palapa (in case it rains) or, my preference" outside "on the beach with a plastic table, plastic chairs and a cheap umbrella over your head. You can park yourself next to a table and order appetizers and beer or margaritas and take yourself for a swim and hang out for awhile. Or you can have a full lunch or a candlelit dinner your feet can be in the sand either way. Twice while we were there we had Jesus as a server and he was very funny and service was amazing. I understand that my parents are regulars and know everyone in the bar and restaurant so that could be why we get such great service. But I also know that my parents know every one along that stretch in the restaurants and bars ( they were Mexico tour guides for 11 years before they settled in PV) and choose this one pretty often. The best part about it is the price of the food is ridiculously reasonable for what you get. I've been here many times before and hopefully I will be back soon. My parents are probably there today. P.s. Dogs are allowed. If you happen to have yours there. My parent's dog loves this place too. They bring her a bowl of water upon arrival. read more

Wow this place is very under rated! I dont know why it only has 3.5 stars. This place needs more recognition! Had lobster and steak dinner with chips and salsa with 2 Margaritas on the BEACH over looking the sunset For less than $40 or 639 mxn pesos for 2!!!! The place resturant next door selling Lobster for $1,250 pesos, here they had it at 370. Talk about a bargain just as romantic and overlooking the sunset on the beach feet in the sand. HOLY COW SOOOOO GOOD!!! There was 9 of us that ate here and all of loved it!! We each had something different and each of us bragged about our own food lol. I had the Chile relleno and was the best I have ever had. I very rarely order Chile relleno when I eat Mexican but had to try this places bc on the menu it says it was featured on the food network. I ate the entire thing and it was off the hook. Best I've ever had. My husband had lobster and steak. Everyone else had some type of seafood and everyone loved it. So it must have been fresh. The service was the worst we have seen here in PV. The waitress took for ever to acknowledge we were there,and by the time she came to our table she dropped of the menus with out saying a word. Went here for dinner on New Years day and it was dead. There was 12 of us in our group so it was easy to snag a large table on the beach since we were the only people there (not a good sign). Maybe everyone was partied-out from the NYE celebrations. We sat down and we were immediately pushed to buy some bottles of wine. Similar to how at all the places we ate at in Mexico, random people would come up to you while eating and shove random junk in your face for purchase and you have to say: "No gracias" 12 times during your meal. This was like that but instead we actually bought a few bottles of wine. Once we said yes to some wine, the service was really poor thereafter. They would only take a few drink orders before walking away to scream at a someone, so it took a while to just order a cerveza. We finally get our drink and food orders complete and the with the name of Langostinos, you would imagine the lobster would be good and cooked to perfection. It was neither. I ordered the combination (lobster, shrimp, and fish) and all of it was bad. The lobster was small and severely burnt and the shrimp and fish were extremely dry and bland. For 350 pesos ($21 USD), this dish was not as cheap as my others in PV so I was expecting better. No pics because of how dark it was on the beach. The seafood trio appetizer was a few bites of an overly salted bag of previously-frozen seafood. When it came to pay the bill, our group of 12 only had 4 credit cards while the rest paid in pesos. Not bad. But of course, our server rudely tells us that they can only accept 1 credit card for the table. How can you present us with wine bottle service but only accept 1 credit card for a party of 12? Whatever, we use one card and give it to our server. He angrily accepts it (I mean, the look on his face after we wanted to use a credit card was of absolute disgust). He was furious that we didn't pay in cash. His demeanor went from a mediocre forcing-to-be-nice server to wanting to fight us. We tried having a nice last meal in Puerto Vallarta with our large group and we could have overlooked the shitty food, but the service and awkwardness of our server at the end of our meal ruined a nice time with friends. DO NOT EAT HERE. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! Go next door or to Andale's where the staff there was amazing. read more

We walked play this little gem while beach gazing. We literally tried to eat here three different times before we were successful. Apparently they close at 9pm. The prices were extremely reasonable for that others offered and their selection of seafood was both wide and wonderful. My fiancé and I ordered the sea food platter. It comes with 4 small whole lobsters, but I kinda think they were very large crayfish based on the size and texture. 8 pieces of butterfly fried shrimp. A while grilled fish which was amazing, but watch out for the bones. And finally a bowl of octopus in a spice sauce that was similar to BBQ sauce. It was definitely enough for two people and everything on the platter was really good. This was by far the best seafood experience we had in Puerto Vallarta. We started with a large shrimp cocktail which was served the traditional Hispanic way, not like we get in the states. This whopping meal came out to roughly 976 pecos or roughly $66 dollars. This includes drinks. So, if you're in the area and want some amazingly fresh seafood.... you know where to go. read more

Wife and I went in for happy hour which is from 5-7. I ordered their mai tai and my wife asked for a taste of their chardonnay. The head bartender (he had an attitude) did not want to accommodate her request but the 2nd in command insisted they provide her with the sample taste. Wife ended up ordering the chardonnay which was pretty ok. My mai tai was the worst I have ever had; it tasted like some kind of cheap rum infused fruit punch you would get served at a college frat house party. To make matters worst, they did not want to give us their happy hour price for the drink until we insisted three times (we were there from 5:15 to 6pm which is right in the middle of happy hour). We went back to the room as I did not feel well after leaving the "happy hour" and endured cramping most of the night. I don't think this place is going to survive in the restaurant business. We only spent about $35 US for Octopus ceviche, beef chile relleno (make sure you ask for cheese as well, or else it will be plain and dry), 3 pina coladas, and a modelo. I cannot imagine why this place was virtually empty when my husband and I were there. Situated on the walkway in front of the beach, one can take in the sights and sounds of the oceanfront while enjoying excellent fare. My husband had aguachile (?) on the recommendation of our attentive server; he said it was fantastic. My chicken quesadillas were excellent, and the guacamole here was better than any I've had in any other restaurant (in Mexico or the U.S.) in years.
