This restaurant was different than any Thai restaurant I have ever been to but in a good way! The building does not look like a usual Thai restaurant but once we stepped inside it was such a nicely decorated restaurant! My husband and I both ordered different variations of fried rice- chicken with pineapple for me and beef for him. The fried rice had a fried egg (not runny which was good) and a broth on the side. The serving was very filling and the iced water was incredibly refreshing! I love fried rice with raisins and my plate did have raisins with the chicken and pineapple rice so that added a sweetness I love. We started with pork dumplings which were totally unexpected round dumplings with crunchy garlic on top. Not bad. Just not great. Served with pure soy sauce. I ordered the Broccoli beef which was served dry and Stone cold and had no knife. We got those issues rectified. No apologies. But besides that the service was okay. I didn't eat the leftovers. Hubby had the Gai Pad Med Ma-Muang. " Thai style chicken stir fried with bell peppers, carrots, onions and crispy chili in Lanna Thai special sauce. Topped with cashew nuts. The parking lot was full. I almost didn't go in thinking there would be a wait. I was pleasantly surprised there was no wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is very large. I enjoy jalepenos but don't consider myself a super hot food eater. Next time I will go with a level 4. My teenager would not have batted an eye at this level 3. It really can be split into 2 meals; pros and cons there. The thing with Lanna Thai is what you order will either make it or break it. The first time I came here I got the pad se ew and did not like it. This time I loved the pad Thai and yum yum salad. The pad Thai at Lanna Thai was amazing with jumbo shrimps, chicken, and tofu. The yum yum salad was also delish. It had a lemon fish sauce base so if you don't like fish sauce, then stay away from it. Pretty typical Thai food. I appreciated the amount of veggies in the dishes. But everything was a bit too sugary. The dumpling apps tasted like low quality frozen dim sum. Service is good, very quick. We did run out of water a few times though. I ordered a hot tea, expecting a tea pot and loose leaf jasmine; what I got was a giant mug of warm water with 1 tea bag in it. There is plenty of parking in the front and side of the restaurant. We have eaten here several times. I appreciate the option in several dishes for gluten free sauce. I wasn't a fan of the Lanna spring rolls, I liked the peanut sauce that came with it but the rolls themselves I didn't like. My pad Thai was really good, I like that they combine shrimp, tofu and chicken in the pad Thai. I had asked for medium spice level and it wasn't quite spicy enough on this visit. I have been searching to find the best chicken panang in the town and Lanna Thai so far has came very close to taking the lead on it (solid 8/10) after 6 other Thai restaurants. We always order Satay gai as appetizer and I was impressed by size of the chicken, usual it comes out on tiny sticks. We ate at Lana Thai the Friday evening after Thanksgiving. It wasn't extremely busy, possibly because most people were having turkey leftovers. There's ample parking even for busy nights. We started with a Grey Goose signature cocktail. It tasted like sweetened club soda, so we sent it back. The wait staff didn't know what to do about something getting sent back. Our waiter asked someone who asked someone else, who asked someone else. Finally, someone knew and we ordered a different drink which was fine. We all 3 ordered stir fries. My eggplant and beef stir fry was fine, but Dan's lacked heat. When he asked for more heat, they brought him a little dish of red pepper flakes. The heat you get from sprinkling dried pepper flakes on an already cooked dish is uneven. I just had to add extra hot pepper flakes which put it over the delicious top for me! My partner enjoyed a marvelous dish that I do not remember the name of, but he might have sopped that plate with bread if he had some; he said it was that delicious. This place is some of the best Thai food I've ever had. My grandmother was introduced to this place by a Thai native she worked with, and they always visited here because she loved how authentic it was before she went back home to Thailand. Now I get to take my grandmother here in her place and I feel so honored! If you are craving Thai food, then Lanna Thai is definitely the place to go in Tulsa! There is a large, nicely decorated open space inside the building with plenty of tables and bar seating. During dinner time on weekends, the restaurant can get quite busy, but the staff members are always friendly and the wait time is never too long. For appetizers, their spring rolls and summer rolls are great for sharing and come with a sweet peanut dipping sauce. Their panang curry is one of our favorite main dishes and comes with your choice of meat and spice level. We usually pick the mild or medium spice level up to level 3 because a 4 gets to be too spicy after a few bites. My brother has been coming to this restaurant for years but I have never been before!! My dish was the Praram Long Song and I definitely recommend it to anyone that is a peanut butter love!! Has a peanut butter flavor and comes with a great portion, could not finish the whole meal!! The people were very friendly and the service was relatively quick! Definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys Thai food! The only downside for me was it was a little bit on the pricey side. Delicious Pad Thai and Lanna Khao Pad (basically chicken fried rice, but you can choose other options besides chicken). I ordered both meals via Door Dash and they came plenty warm and ready to eat. The Pad Thai had great flavor, and you could choose your protein. However, it was full of tofu and that was not listed as an ingredient on the menu. Tofu is a protein option, but it was still included even though I selected chicken. The Lanna Khao Pad was a generous portion of chicken and fried rice. It was tasty and fresh. I ordered a spice level 2 out of 5 and it had plenty of kick to it. The only thing I would change is have them dice up the egg throughout the meal instead of placing one big fried egg on top of the rice. The clear soup that comes on the side with this meal was just ok, not much flavor. I will definitely order from this place again! Came on a Sunday for lunch. The service was a little slow. After being seated, we waited for about 10 minutes for a waitress to take our drink order. Water was only refilled once during our visit, towards the end of the meal. The food is pricey for the quality that you get, but they can afford to do that as one of the few Thai restaurants in Tulsa. I ordered the lunch special curry, which was overly sweet. I tried the yellow curry and Pad See Ew as well, which were also much sweeter than expected. The portions were big, but the flavors were average at best. I ordered a spicy level 3 and my friend ordered a spicy level 4 of the same dish. Between the two was no noticeable difference, and neither dish was very spicy at all. The portion of beef I received with my dish was much smaller than the portion of chicken my friend received with the same dish. Ok...this is comfort food at its best. I love this place! I have been here only twice now, and both times I've been charmed by their food, and walk out as happy as can be. You see...I love curry's. Panang especially. The panang chicken or shrimp on a bed of warm rice can heal a bad day...or bring back warm memories of a special time in your life...or just mentally go from blah to a happy place.
