Really solid hand pulled noodles. The food here is pretty excellent, especially since there are other good hand pulled noodle spots in the area. The space itself is really great and in a good location. Would rec during this cold weather!

This is a solid noodle house. As you can see from other reviews, it is not for everyone. If you came here to get wings, you are in the wrong place. But if you came here for fresh pulled Chinese noodles, then this is a great spot for you. My go to is the Beef Combo Dry - Mixed with a Stewed Egg. Trust me, you can not go wrong with this one.

I was surprised with how quick and simple service was, as well as the food! I ordered on the kiosk, sat down, and got my food maybe within five minutes. Note that if you order the hand pulled noodle soups spicy, they will just tell you to add the chili oil yourself. The beef brisket was so tender and juicy; it was so tasty. Noodles were a good combo with the beef. I thought the veggies that came with the soup were okay. Broth was fine too but adding the chili oil made it tastier. Overall quick and simple place with chill and casual vibes. Would come again if craving the noodles and in the area.

Great meal at a reasonable price. Thu's is a fast casual dinning place that makes your noodles on demand. Order on the kiosk and they bring the food to your table. Friendly service a delicious meal.

The food was so good I forgot that camera eats first. They came out with our food super quickly and nice and hot. Me and my friend both dug into our dishes and we loved how tasty it was. They have soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil on the table to add separately. I loved adding the chili oil which added that extra kick I enjoy and to my liking. The chili oil and soy sauce also paired well with the steamed vegetable buns. I wish they had small little bowls/plates we can pour the soy sauce into for convenience of dipping into for the buns, but it wasn't too big of an issue. We went around 6PM on a Sunday evening and every table was packed. I noticed a lot of people decide to take takeout too. It's located in a nice complex where you can walk around the lake and check out other shops/dessert places/movies/etc. This place is definitely worth trying if you're in the area!

Very mid. Even if I didn't know what Lanzhou la mian was, the taste was forgettable, and I will not be eating here again. I walked in seeing the iconic metal noodle-making table and looked forward to a taste of my childhood. To my immense disappointment, I heard no thwacks from the table over my visit, and the noodles did not taste like lanzhou la mian or even like your standard niu rou mian. On top of that, i ordered the thick and spicy beef brisket noodles and got whatever the picture below was. Not brisket, and them noods were what I would have thought the standard thickness would have been. It tasted exactly how it looks: boring, bland, and without any spicy kick. I poured a little bit of vinegar into the broth and somehow it made it taste like a lukewarm liang mian. The popcorn chicken wasn't bad - tasted like Taiwanese popcorn chicken and was tender. It was the only saving grace from my visit.

So addicting I'm glad I took the time to try out these pork wontons. They were spicy salty vinegary and delicious and just under $10 this is a quick bite if you're ever at the new Washingtonian Rio. I used to live around here and seeing more restaurants and shops there is really amazing

After my brother raved about this place, I've been back several times already in 2024. The surprise dish for me is their xiao long bao (pork soup dumplings). It's priced at $9.99, and you get six very good soup dumplings - I think they are the best in the area, better than Bob's or Shanghai Taste. The skin is so thin and is filled with lots of soup. Their beef noodle is soup is pretty good though I wish the broth is served a little warmer. I like the knife cut noodles the best. They give you tons of meat and veggies in the soup. One soup is enough to feed two adults. My daughter enjoyed the roast pork bun, almost as good as China Garden one. They have a decent size dining room, but it does get packed so get their early or you will have to wait.

When the noodle craving calls, Lanzhou is ready! Enjoyed the simplicity of the digital ordering system - getting our food was simple and the wait wasn't bad. Plenty of seating for small groups - larger ones might be a problem, but not impossible. We both ordered vegetarian dishes - mine the soup and his the dry noodles. Both amazing. Love the umami and balance of flavors. We really don't come here enough!

I loved the food! You can order food online or through their kiosk. I have walked by a million times and it's always packed. We arrived just before the lunch rush. I had the combo beef noodle with ox tail, beef and tendons. The broth was so clean and flavorful. I would like to note that I don't normally like Chinese beef noodle soup but since the noodles are homemade I wanted to try it. I'm very happy I did! The pork soup dumplings and shrimp dumplings were fresh and came out really quickly. The table near us had the buffalo wings and said it was delicious. I will definitely come back. Edit: I came back for the wings. By far the best I have ever had. Reminded me of Korean wings (Gam pong gi) but crispier and more flavor, not too spicy. Loved the beef brisket stir fry. More like short ribs with chewy tendons and tender pieces mixed. I will definitely keep coming back!

A great easy, fast, and tasty lunch spot! Was here around noon on a weekday. Restaurant was mostly full but has fairly quick turnover with self order and self seating. We got our food super quickly (and also consumed it just as quickly). Beef hand pulled noodle soup- the house made hand pulled noodles were fantastic! Very al dente and bouncy. You get a good view of the restaurant staff hand making the noodles from certain seats in the restaurant too. Broth was light and flavorful, and there was a generous amount of beef and Chinese broccoli. Pork and chive fried dumplings- very savory and juicy. Tastes good paired with chili oil. Pork soup dumplings- a bit less soup than expected (possibly absorbed by the filling). Pairs well with complementary black vinegar and ginger dip. Overall a solid place to eat in the DMV!

Happy to see his nood soup still killing it and winning awards. Order the #1. Add some chili oil. Try a side or two. That's all you need. I personally like noodles, my kid loves belt style, my wide loves knife cut. They do it all and don't miss on flavor.

Unfortunately there was no live piano but the music they played over the speaker was relaxing piano covers of popular music like SZA, Kendrick Lamar, Drake. We did find some comfort in soup and their gorgeous special floral/herbal tea. There was an instructional video on the tv showing how to drink out of the specific tea cup they served out of. We started with the refreshing cucumber salad and light, crispy popcorn chicken. Then came my tomato beef soup with regular noodles (recommended by the server) which also came with carrots. The broth was mild but once I added a bit of the black vinegar and chili oil provided in the caddy at the table, the flavor started to come alive. I did not finish my bowl as it was a large portion of noodles. I liked the noodles but feel like the extra thin noodles may have fit my preference better for this soup. I saved about half to take home because I wanted to save what little room I had left to take a few bites of the cumin lamb burger that had come shortly after I had started my soup. The cumin lamb burger was packed with tender, shredded lamb that was cumin-y enough to negate any potential gaminess from the lamb. The bread was crisp on the outside and reminded me of a flattened english muffin kind of. I do wish that the burger came with cilantro. It needed a fresh component to round out the burger. We pretty much packed everything to go. We had ordered too much food not realizing how big and filling each dish would be. Our server filled our tea cups with hot water one last time so we could enjoy another cup before we left. The verdict: great quality, comfort food at reasonable prices especially for the area it's located in. Great to know it's here as it will hopefully start cooling down outside soon.

A bit pricy on the entrees, but it cost about the same as any food at BT's would have cost me. I had a 'cup' of Beef broth Borscht [heated temperature was hot]. Even though I am Jewish & 63 I had never had borscht before It was truly amazing tasting! The cost was $9 [$11 tip included] for my dinner instead of the easily spent $25 nowadays. Granted, for dessert I did want to order the the good looking well reviewed dessert of cherry pocket dumplings called 'Cherry Varenyky' [$17.50 with SIX 100% reviews] which would have cost me about another $22.00] but because of my own $$ woes I ruefully resisted spending more $$, so that I did not end up spending about $34.65 instead of $11. FOMO!! (Not to be weird or gross) I was experiencing some of my own seasonal allergic chest congestion & that Borscht was the most wonderful thing I could have ate & it instantly made me feel better. I would definitely get that delivered through Uber Eats, & I dislike using Uber Eats. That cup serving size was the size of 4 cups of any other restaurant in a nice pottery big bowl. HUGE! I wonder how large a bowl size is as the Waitress said it can serve 1.5 to 2 people.?‍ It was a Wonderful time spent by myself in a clean, Quaint & lovely ambiance eating a YUMMY bowl of Borscht from the homeland. I will return!

We had an early dinner reservation at 5:30pm, though as it turned out, user error meant I actually made the reso at the wrong location (oops). That said, it was early and they were kind of enough to transfer us and seat us. My dad and I each tried a nalivka. My black currant one was absolutely delicious. And then we moved on to food: *Forshmak - this was delicious, and if you like herring, this is a must! I would come back here just for this! *Vareniki with short rib - delicious. My only slight qualm was the amount of caramelized onions, which was the same qualm I had with my cossack bowl. But that's a personal preference and easily picked off. *Chicken kiev - my dad got this and both my mom and he agreed this wasn't the normal chicken Kiev, but rather more of a ground chicken cutlet situation with filling, and not what they grew up eating. *Holubtsi with meat - my mom got this and she loved it! *Cossack bowl - I loved this (minus the aforementioned onions), and the potato vareniki and sausage were a highlight! We finished the meal with dessert, and since we couldn't figure out what to order, we got three desserts: *Medovik - always a great go to *Kyiv cake - this was a nicely sized (i.e. small and not overwhelming portion) and tasted great *Sour cherry vareniki - this was delicious and I could have eaten several bowls of this! So, the food was an easy 5 stars, and I loved it! Where they lose a star is service... when we came in, and until we were close to done, the place was pretty empty, but the service was inattentive. I constantly ran out of water and would sit trying to make eye contact with someone to refill it. We also sat for a while after we finished our mains with no one checking on us or asking if we wanted dessert. I'd understand some part of this if they were slammed, but they weren't, and the waiters were largely standing around. All that said, and I would absolutely come back for the food!

The servers speak Cantonese, which was a good sign. We ordered food and a couple plates arrived within 5 minutes (!!) which was insanely fast. I think we got all of our dishes within 10 minutes of ordering. I'm not sure how they whipped it up so quickly. CHICKEN & CORN SOUP - 9.95 We got two orders of this since there were six of us, and each person was able to enjoy almost two bowls of the soup. This was more like egg drop soup at an American Chinese restaurant with some bits of corn and chicken. You really can't call this "chicken & corn" soup. There was lots of cornstarch to give a thick texture. Overall, it's not bad but I think most people can make a better chicken & corn soup at home. BARBECUE PLATTER (3 SELECTIONS) - 21.95 +bbq pork +bbq crispy pork +bbq roasted duck The bbq was fine, nothing to write home about. The bbq pork was vibrantly red, but flavor was a bit bland. The bbq crispy pork wasn't very crispy, but it had a good ratio of skin, fat, and meat. The bbq roasted duck was just fatty. SEAFOOD CHOW FUN - 14.95 Instead of the wavy egg noodles, the server recommended the flat rice noodles (hor fun) because she said it was better. There was a good amount of vegetables and seafood. Aesthetically, it looked delicious. It wasn't too oily, which is good, but it was pretty bland and lacked the "wok hay" flavor... Almost like they just lightly sauteed it on a pan. SAUTEED CHINESE BROCCOLI W GARLIC - 13.95 The texture was nice and crunchy, but again, very bland and no "wok hay" flavor. I ate it for health. EGGPLANT WITH GARLIC SAUCE - 11.95 The eggplant was incredibly saucy and flavorful, definitely the best dish we got. It was soft, tender, and creamy which went well with the garlic sauce. Our entire table agreed this was our favorite. KINGDOM PORK CHOP - 15.95 The sauce was a dark red and very thick. We knew without trying that it was going to be too overpowering and sweet. Indeed it was. Out of everything we ordered, this was definitely our least favorite because it was borderline inedible. I had high hopes since someone recommended New Village as one of the best Cantonese restaurants in the area, but it ended up being pretty mediocre. Like another review had mentioned, most dishes felt flat since the flavors lacked the "wok hay" depth we were looking for. The pricing was very good though since we paid less than $21 per person after tax and tip, and we had enough leftovers for at least two more meals.
