We were invited to lunch with a friend who took us to Chopin Noodle House. Interesting concept, but forget about the piano and the music - the food is fantastic on its own. I got the Scallion Oil Noodles - chewy, hand pulled noodles in a smooth oil dressing. Pair it with the chili oil kimchi for a nice contrasting crunch. My favorite, however, was the Tofu with Century Egg Salad - a small bowl with cubes of soft tofu and quartered century egg and chili oil. Lots of textures and tastes thrown into a tiny little bowl. Be careful - as proof that this place is authentic, their "vegan" vegetable tofu noodle soup is served in beef broth. But once you hammer out the details of the ingredients, the taste is worthwhile. Plenty of others feel the same way - we arrived when they just opened for the day, so we got a seat, but by the time we left, there was a line out the door. I came to get knife pulled noodles with my partner. We were not disappointed! We came around 5:30PM on a Monday and were seated right away. It's a casual restaurant with a grand piano inside. We ordered the following: A2 Traditional beef noodle soup which comes with sliced tender beef, cilantro, leek, radish, chili oil and your choice of noodles. We chose the regular sized noodles and this was a perfect combination. The soup base was light and flavorful. B2 Oil Spill noodles which comes with beef chunks, bok choy, garlic, chili powder, cilantro, green onion and extra wide noodles. Super flavorful, calming, and charming noodle house. All the noodles are handmade and each taste is unique. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There is a piano, violins and mic set up for shows. Plenty of seating. Took my nephews who tend to be very picky and even they were super pleased. The Noodles had a bit of a chewy bite, which I love and you can even see them hand making the noodles in the back. Flavorful broth and perfectly textured noodles were exactly what I was craving. I added more chili oil for some extra heat. The appetizer I chose was the Tofu with Century Egg Salad. I visited late Saturday afternoon with my mom for lunch. We ordered two appetizers and noodle dishes. The smashed cucumber salad had a nice tang to it from the vinegar. Loved the popcorn chicken although I wish it had more salt or basil or something extra. I would personally cut the chicken pieces a little bigger so it doesn't taste so crumpled and stale. The dishes overall were not spicy even though I used copious amounts of chili oil. I liked that they have both brothy noodles and dry noodles. Nothing was too greasy or heavy making it perfect to eat during balmy summer weather. I still would go back again in the future knowing how nicely executed everything was at the restaurant. Five stars for dinner and a show! We came here on a Saturday evening a little after 7pm. To our pleasant surprise, the owner was at the piano (they have a GRAND piano here) playing a beautiful classical piece, which added some extra charm to the ambiance. We were greeted and seated right away, and the waitress quickly brought us water cups. Service was exceptional the entire night. We were checked on multiple times, and staff members were super attentive and quick to address any needs without prompting (ie. Drink refills, additional utensils, scissors to cut the long noodles, etc.). We were also able to place an additional order of a noodle soup to-go, and they fulfilled the order just as requested. The food was tasty and prices were reasonable (~$15 for an entree). I ordered B6- Lanzhou Stir Fry Hand Pulled Noodles with beef. I can order this dish again and again. The noodles were perfectly al dente and the stir fry had great flavor from the mix of zucchini, carrots, tomatoes, onions, and peppers. The beef was super tender ~ I really enjoyed it. Overall, the dish had a little heat to it (so if you have a low spice tolerance, you should request not spicy), but not so much to categorize it as spicy. They also have spicy dish options, but you can just add your own chili oil at the table. If you get the noodle soup, you get to pick the style of noodles (thin, thick, wide, knife cut, etc.). I also sampled the A12- Dumplings in Sour Soup. The serving was generous (you actually get a bowlful of dumplings that will fill you up as a meal as opposed to an appetizer serving) and I liked the fresh and sour flavor of the broth. If you dip the lamp into the spice, it adds another layer of flavor and aroma to the lamp. You got couple of different types of noodles (thickness) to choice from. I will recommend the regular and thick. I normally recommend people to visit a restaurant in the weekend. However, I will recommend you to go there in the weekdays. The owner of the restaurant used to be and still is a music teacher. There is a big piano placed in the dining room. The owner will perform live music during less busy hours. This place is a relatively new place in a strip mall across from Starbucks. It is clean and bright inside with some string instruments as decor and marble laminate tables. The one piece of furniture that is quite unique is a grand piano in the corner. You can't miss it. You can either order at the tablet or with the person in the front. You order first, pay first, then sit. They will bring the food to you. The food is quite good and authentic. It has a stronger taste than the other recent noodle place. The chili oil isn't that spicy so don't be afraid. Even biting into a peppercorn, it wasn't spicy. There's a corner with a self serve water fountain. One part of the night that was a nice surprise is when the owner came out and started playing classical music for about 10-15 minutes. We were sitting next to the piano and just felt at peace. I'm giving this restaurant a 3.5/5 and I'm bumping it to 4. The concept is simple: you order at the counter (or at the kiosk next to the counter) and a server will bring the noodle soup to you. There's a piano situated in the deeper end of the restaurant and maybe the owner will come out and play some Chopin songs. The taste is pretty good too. I paid $14 pre-tax for the noodle soup. The noodles themselves are plenty. Unfortunately, the noodles were accompanied by 3 thin slices of daikon and a couple of thin slices of beef. Lots of my noodle bites were complemented by the coriander and the flavorful soup. The feelings from those "half empty" bites are disappointing because meat and carbs go hand-in-hand; and the lack of meat was a bit frustrating. The service was fast and the restaurant is fairly clean. I will come back and order another noodle soup with the +4$ extra meat add-on. I want to see whether or not the +4$ is worth it.
