    Steak Tampiquena

Margs were great and everything else was just okay. To start out, we ordered the chips & salsa. Beware that the salsa is very spicy! The waiter warned us about this. We ordered the Steak Tampiquena and the Baja enchiladas for dinner. Everything tasted just okay and not the most fresh. There were only 3 tables at the restaurant so maybe it was because it was a slow night? Not sure, but we likely will not be back. We also ordered the tres leches and it legitimately tasted like store-bought angelfood cake with cream poured over it right before it came out.

This a beautiful restaurant in Park Place which we love. I ordered a beer and my fiancé ordered the margarita which was just ok. Our food was very good, but it took a very long time to come out. There was a mixup on table numbers with both our drinks and our food. A manager came by to apologize and said it was because staff was new. They are a newer restaurant so I'm sure they are still figuring everything out. I would probably give it another try. The portion sizes aren't very large so don't come too hungry or plan to order some appetizers.

Excellent! Great modern Mexican fare with great service and a cool modern vibe! I love my short ribs dish. Hubby had Chile relleno which was great. The roasted veggies app was delish as was the blue cheese guacamole!

We went to Lapez mod mex for restaurant week. We have done restaurant week the last 10 years and this has been the best food I have had. Everything i had was so tasty. The owner came over and spoke with us. All the staff were so kind. I cant wait to go back and see what else they have to offer.

LaPez really surprised me. Authentic dishes with a modern twist, so much flavor especially the mole. Not many places can do mole correctly, this is it. Service is fantastic and they did a great job remodeling the place. Come for happy hour and a nice dinner. Sit outside when weather permits.

    Carne Asada. Absolutely amazing.

This is our favorite new restaurant. They only opened three days ago but you wouldn't know that from the quality of the service, food and drinks. The inside has been completely redone and it has a great vibe. I had the carne asada with chili smashed potatoes and street corn. My wife had the tampiquena, grilled steak with shrimp and crab enchiladas. It was a great and unique take on surf and turf. Both dishes were seasoned perfectly and were great value for the price. We will definitely be back. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming.

    Salad

Wow! We had a few cocktails along with the oysters, a salad and tortilla soup. I scarfed down the oysters so fast I didn't even think to get a picture! They were delicious! The tortilla soup had such vibrant flavor as did the salad. I cannot wait to come back to try more off the menu. We were lucky enough to speak with the head chef and you can tell his passion and excitement for the restaurant! We cannot wait to return!

    Chicken Mole Enchiladas

The food was artfully presented and delicious. I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas. Some others at the table thought the food was too spicy. Spice lovers rejoice. While the enchiladas had some heat, didn't think it was too spicy although the jicama salad cooled off the heat some. The servers did an excellent job fielding some complaints at the table about spiciness. Great location to watch the ice skaters.

Loved it! Everything was amazing and cooked perfectly. N/A cocktail list was a great surprise!Service was prompt and polite without being rushy. Live music was wonderful if just a bit loud, place would benefit from those sound muffling stands are the band area to split the difference, but otherwise no notes, will definitely be back.

I attempted to place the order online but needed to make a change in one of the items and the change was not available in the options. When I pointed out to the person who finally answered the phone that I have been waiting 17 minutes, she didn't even seem to care. Thankfully, the order was correct when we received it.

We were originally hoping to score a table outside so the "essence of our athletic auras" wouldn't offend the general public, but the patio was packed, so we abided and took the indoor seating. We were a semi-sizable lineup of about 10 to 12 deep. Our server was incredibly friendly, but it was only her third day on the job, so we willingly cut her some slack. It did take about five innings to get my jalapeño margarita, but when it finally arrived, it absolutely hit the spot--perfect balance of heat and refreshing. After mowing down roughly 10 rounds of chips and salsa across the table, we moved into the late-lunch innings of the meal. I ordered the lunch chimichanga, which came paired with cilantro rice and refried beans. Flavor-wise, it was pretty tasty, but it definitely leaned more "burrito" than "chimi"--any crispiness it started with must have melted on the journey from the kitchen to the table. On the bright side, one of our teammates ordered the fish tacos, which looked incredible. But for me, the real MVP of the table was the guacamole. It looked like it stepped straight out of a high-end, all-inclusive resort--beautifully presented, colorfully topped, and bursting with bright, fresh flavor. Great spot for a post-game huddle, even if the kitchen pace was a bit of a slow burn.

We had some great chips and dip and asked for the hot sauce from the back. Delish! The cheese dip was epic! Fantastic!! The large is no joke. It fed 5 of us and we didn't even finish it because the food came out so fast. My order was wrong. I asked for no chicken enchilada and 2 cheese and a beef instead. I got a chicken enchilada and 2 cheese. I don't like chicken enchiladas. Luckily my wife had a beef chimichanga and she shared that with me and took my unwanted fowl. Her margarita was huge and delicious. The kid that was bussing the tables and brought the chips was better than our server. He killed it. She didn't. Meh.

Everything was absolutely delicious. We also started with some appetizers -- fresh guacamole, their new birria Mexican pizza (a must-try!), and some creamy queso dip. To wash it all down, we tried a few of their amazing cocktails, including a super cool black margarita. On top of the great food and drinks, the service was fantastic and the staff was super friendly. They even have a fun burrito challenge if you're feeling brave! Guess what if you have a place which serves Mexican seafood go try something like this. This place specializes in seafood in Mexican cuisine perhaps this is the second location there's another location in the downtown, which we have been to, but let's get to how we like this place Food I would say was not amazing but good we didn't like the paella the rice was mushy. It was smelling different because of the clams and oysters that was definitely not fresh. Perfect hint of spice and sweetness. The water was really nasty though. Food: Everything is made to order and customizable which is rare. -(6) Grilled chili butter oysters my favorite very great flavor -(6) Grilled Stuffed Oysters this was very different but still good I was nervous about the octopus idk of if I necessarily taste it was a fishy flavor but still great to try. I would probably try it without octopus next time. My waiter suggested using the premade lime mixture to cut the fishy taste and it worked perfectly and I also tried the habanero lime mixture. That's on the table and that tastes good as well it cut the fishiness. -Ceviche tostadas no carrots and light cilantro no (btw this is the Pacifico one): probably the best ceviche I've had and I added the habanero purée and it was perfection.
