Wow. By far our best meal in PDC so far. We had lunch at Lara and Luca after our private Cenote tour with guide, Fabio. What a fantastic meal. My daughter and I both started with the salad with avocado, roasted corn and peaches. The homemade bread with herbed butter was delicious. We also both opted for the chicken with rice and gochujang sauce. It was a little sweet (not in a bad way) and was delicious from the start but was even better with a little chili oil. Our guide has the gnocchi with pesto which looked delicious. For dessert we had strawberry short cake - it may have been the best one I've ever had and I've had many in my life. My cappuccino was delightful. The only thing we had that we didn't love was the cold brew coffee which comes with lemon. I'm sure this is common but unusual for us and I didn't care for the taste. I would definitely return. I hear the menu changes quite regularly, I am sure everything they make is delicious.
I had been in previous trips to Playa del Carmen. And I loved it. I decided to take a friend I was traveling with. The wait was about 20 minutes. They have a counter next door where you can order items to go, such as pastries, coffees and smoothies. We were seated in a corner that wasn't too attractive. But oh well. Sitting in the covered patio would have been too loud. I ordered a cazuela de huevos and my friend ordered eggs Benedict. The food took forever. I thought about leaving but my friend said we'd have to wait at another place. We finally got our food. My friend's food was lukewarm. It had probably been sitting in the kitchen a while. My cazuela was hot. It was good and enough to share among two. I couldn't finish it. The meal was served with rustic bread. This time, I was disappointed by the restaurant. They do accept dogs in the patio.

Wellllll, it all started with the still raw "cooked" fish.The first time the fish came out it was a wonderful presentation. The fish sat on top of a bed of very flavorful mashed potatoes and was garnished with delicious sausage and a bit of vegetables. Lurking beneath the cooked exterior was a raw and frozen interior. Needless to say this affected the overall experience. When I notified the wait staff of the issue, they apologized and took it back to the kitchen and shortly after returned with the same piece of fish cooked a bit better. There were no discounts or dessert offered as compensation for the inconvenience. This was a bit disappointing and frankly surprising. Menus are offered in both Spanish and English and the wait staff was very attentive and overall it was a nice experience.
Came here for a birthday brunch, and we had an amazing time. It was a casual environment. The service was excellent, and the staff did a great job surprising our friend with a birthday treat. Ordered the bloody mary, and it was on point with the right amount of spice and alcohol. Also, the eggs Benedict were delicious, and the eggs were cooked thoroughly. Bacon was crispy and wasn't dry at all, which went perfectly well with the eggs.
It was a rainy Sunday and we were looking for a cute breakfast spot. We found Lara & Luca on Yelp! There was a bit of a wait probably due to the weather and we were a group of 7. It probably took 20-30 minutes to be seated. We place our order and shortly after they brought around a mini yogurt cup with granola and fruit. It was a perfect kick off to our meal. I ordered a cafe latte that was delicious. It came with a little biscotti on the side! I also ordered their avocado toast with scrambled eggs. It was one of my favorite avocado toasts I've ever had! Definitely a great place to stop in for breakfast or lunch!
This is an excellent place to eat at for breakfast or lunch/dinner. While staying in Playa I went here a few times since it was near my Airbnb, but often ordered from their establishment on UberEats. The food is excellent, and I definitely recommend the pasta with short rib ragu--absolutely delicious!
Found this place on Yelp and it's worthy of its rating! I'm also always hesitant to believe ratings in other countries but this one is worth it. We wanted some delicious brunch that we could pay with card and our food was awesome! We had a fruit bowl, chilaquiles and a yummy bread. The starter parfaits were delicious and coffee and juices were also really good. Our service was just fine and we will most definitely return next time we are in the area. Super cute place and definitely recommend over some of the other highly rated brunch places.
Great food. Great service. Very pleasant restaurant beside the dolphin excursion. Fun to watch the dolphins. Excellent coffee, excellent. Very friendly staff.
Wow.. Finally restaurant worthy of 5 stars... This happen to be last place we stopped before we headed back home. This place is kind of out of the way so you need a car. Luckily we still had a rental car. First of all parking attendant guy was nice and guide us in. Restaurant was nice and clean. Well decorated and very welcoming. First tasted the bacon which was nice and crispy.. First bite of the French toast was soooo heavenly... Till I noticed a hair in the middle of the bread.. I'm like wth.. But honestly it tasted so good I didn't care. Told the server, server was very upset about the hair and quickly took it away and brought another one.. Again... Normally I would be annoyed and say I don't want another one. But the dang thing was so freaking yummy I ordered another one. I mean how often you get hair dropped in a bread dough . Server said they make their own bread. The French toast was so soft, fluffy, moist, and melt in your mouth. Not a French toast person but best French toast I've ever eaten. I was so happy to finally eat at a place that was soooo yummy. You know it's good when I'm driving away and and I'm thinking about the French toast going.... Num Num Num... . Oh and we got small serving of yogurt which was also yummy. This place is most definitely must try place.. I can't wait to come back to this place again when we visit again.
I have very mixed feelings about this restaurant. They have a bakery side and a restaurant side. Both spaces are beautiful, warm and welcoming! I didn't try any of the bakery items but they all looked amazing! The restaurant side had an option to sit inside or outside, which is really nice. The service was excellent and for that reason I'm giving this place 4 stars, otherwise they would only receive 3 from me based on food alone. I ordered a chai latte to start and it was the worst chai latte I've ever had in my life! It tasted like they boiled a tea bag and then added a splash of milk to it. It was awful. I had two sips snd then it just sat on the table. My friend and I ordered the waffle and French toast to share based on other reviews. The waffle was okay, but nothing incredible. The French toast was inedible in my opinion. It was SO soggy. It tasted like bread just drenched in water. My friend couldn't eat it either. The waitress was very kind and offered to bring us something else. So we chose the eggs Benedict based on her recommendation and they were excellent! They are worth coming back for. Definitely ask questions and ask the waitress/waiter for recommendations before ordering.
We found this place on the way from Tulum back to the airport and are so glad that we decided to make a quick stop for brunch! Immediately upon arrival, we were greeted smiles from all the friendly staff and given yogurt parfaits on the house. They were made with house granola and papaya drizzle and perfectly sweet and light! I had their cold brew which was rich and full bodied and their orange juice was fresh as well. My boyfriend ordered the famous French toast and it did not disappoint! It was perfectly sweet and fluffy and the date flavor was super unique but went incredibly well with the whole meal! I got the eggs and bacon and it was also seasoned to perfection! I was obsessed with the bacon too :) We had a side order of butter and French baguette which was served with a delicious pineapple jam and it was the perfect cherry on top to a great brunch! Will definitely have to stop by again next time we are in town!
A very quaint spot near fifth Avenue. This was about a 10 min walk for us but very easy to find. We were greater immediately and sat. The establishment was busy but attention to guests was great. Ordered the waffle with side of sausage. The waffle was perfection. Very light and buttery. The whipped cream was not overly sweet and a perfect compliment. My partner had French toast with bacon. By the silence and how quickly it disappeared I'll say it was also good. The highlight to me was our server. I did not catch her name but her tattoos were beautiful! She was very attentive to us (and others around us). She switched seamlessly from Spanish to English, which was helpful for me. I had my translator out to help with my broken Spanish but it was not needed . Beautiful breakfast and the walk back afterward was rough since we were stuffed. We went to brunch at Lara & Luca. Very cute place with easy parking in the front, a guide is there to help you park, which is nice! Walking in, they're very welcoming! The restaurant is clean and very modern. The ceiling is cute! They have egg cartons as their ceiling! I was surprised that I couldn't just got hot black coffee, so I ordered a latte, wasn't disappointed! They even designed a heart at the top! We shared an almond croissant and they gave out passionfruit yogurt with a crunchy topping - these two things were my favorite of the meal. We are even talking about going back tomorrow just to get these two things! We also shared the Luca sandwich - this was delicious!! The sandwich has ham, cream cheese, mushrooms, and truffle oil, and topped with an egg. So delicious! There was a salad on the side that had some type of vinaigrette on it. The only complaint was that the vinaigrette was soaked up in the bottom piece of bread which made those bites a little busy when all in one bite. If I ever get a chance to order this again, I'd ask for the dressing on the side. We also got the chicken and waffles. This is the only thing we were disappointed with, not disappointed enough to mark the rest of the experience down though. The chicken was pretty good, but some bites were really salty. The waffle was so dry, even with adding the syrup, it didn't help with the waffle much. Overall, we loved this place! So glad we got to eat here! Trendy food spot near Playa Car that's worth a visit. Stopped by this place after seeing how good the food looked coming out of the kitchen--beautifully plated, fresh, and clearly made with care. The vibe is casual yet modern, with a trendy beach-town feel that fits the Playa Car scene perfectly. I ordered the croquette sandwich with an egg, and it absolutely delivered. The croquette was crispy on the outside, soft and savory inside, and the egg added a nice richness. What really elevated the whole dish, though, was the aioli--creamy, tangy, and packed with flavor. It tied everything together beautifully. Honestly, they should bottle that stuff. A nice surprise was the complimentary yogurt with grains that came out before the meal. It was a thoughtful touch--light, subtly sweet, and a great palate teaser before the main dish arrived. It gave the whole experience a more refined feel without being pretentious. Service-wise, it was minimal but efficient. The waitress was polite but a bit dry--no real recommendations or extra engagement--but everything arrived promptly and correctly, so no complaints there. All in all, it's a spot I'd happily return to. The food is excellent, the vibe is chill, and little touches like the complimentary yogurt show they're paying attention. We stayed in Playa del Carmen for 2 nights and this was the best spot we found. About 10 minutes away from the main strip with free parking in the front. Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere, and great value. Temperature checks at the door and all the staff wore masks. I had the bread with goat cheese (5/5) and my boyfriend had the eggs benedict (4/5). Both very filling and delicious! Juice of the day was beet + orange We stayed for about an hour and a half but this seems like the perfect spot to get some work done on the outdoor patio. Would definitely recommend this to anyone in the area read more

Added another check to my seemingly endless "To Do List". Enjoyed a delicious brunch at Lara & Luca. Attention to safety protocol, friendly, fast and attentive service, varied menu and a yummy mimosa. It is Sunday Funday! Very cute and relaxing atmosphere. Portions were HUGE and very filling, beautifully presented. Definitely a repeat! read more

The food was not good for its price at all, the food around my table was bland and even the chai tea was bland. They didn't have any mocha latte so I couldn't try that out but I wanted too. The environment is nice though, but I just wish the food was better. Lastly, the service was very mediocre... not very good. read more
Was looking for a breakfast spot near our air b&b. Decided to try this one with so many great reviews but was a little disappointed. The restaurant itself looks very clean and kept nice. It had a good ambiance. The service was great, they don't speak much English but they tried and was helpful. As for the food, i hated that the eggs were cooked on every entree we ordered. Weren't asked how we liked our eggs to be cooked either so maybe this is the only way it's done ? The Benedict and bacon came with one little bacon and lettuce for a side. The muffin was too hard I couldn't even cut it through. The Chilaquiles was too salty for me. And the bacon was very undercooked. This breakfast was okay in my opinion read more
We enjoyed having breakfast here. The decor is welcoming, parking is available, and the staff is pleasant. It's an 11min walk from playa del carmen's downtown ferry area. We ordered the chia quinoa oatmeal w coconut milk, the large fruit with yogurt, two natural juices, the veggie omelet which came w potatoes & the blueberry hotcakes which came with bacon...we also ordered a side of avocado. For the most part the food had good flavor though my pancakes were a bit bland, so I only ate 1 of the 3. Still, you should give it a try! read more

Well I didn't expect to enjoy this spot that much but man on man did I! Coming from someone who prefers to skip breakfast, I was quite impressed. The food was really good and tasty. It's the little things that made the dishes. Like the French toast, the addition of the figs really elevated the dish! We got juices, chai latte, waffles, and had the yogurt dish. My friends and I really enjoyed all of our dishes. The service was superb! Our server even went back and got design added to my friends coffee so she could take a nice picture lol. Finding the place is a little hard though, looks like the most current address on Yelp is incorrect, try the one on google. We tried 3 different addresses to get here, but it was all worth it! :) read more

Awesome place off of the main strip. The ingredients were fresh and the service was excellent. I had the avocado toast and let me tell you they layer in the avocado! This place also offers a nice Bloody Mary and freshly squeezed juice. read more
