Daughter called during the week to make sure Open bowling was available on Sunday. "Sure just come on in." My daughter says, 'I'm gonna call again just to make sure, that guy didn't sound like he knew what he was talking about". Again, "sure just come in, we'll have open lanes; no reservations, leagues don't start until till four". Get there at 2pm. People from out of town. And all the lanes taken up by reserved birthday parties. No apologizes. Just kinda 'too bad, so sad'. So, off to Tinley bowl where we had an eventual good time.

Heads up, this is a small, old bowling alley with no modern updates. My husband and I came here for a date night. We originally bought two games with shoes. The first issue we had was adding a second player to the game. The man behind the shoe counter said it was a user issue that happens all the time but I know I made no mistake, it was actually on their end. Especially when I saw it happen to the person next to us too and they also made no mistake. Then we had another issue where we had to reset the pins. The next complaint is that the walking area just before the black line was very slippery which it shouldn't be. Made for a very cautious bowl as we did not want to hurt ourselves. Our biggest complaint is with the staff. We were having fun so we bought another game but it didn't start the game right after. My husband then went to the man behind the shoe counter and notified him of our issue. He accused us of not paying saying he'd let it slide. This bowling alleys staff tried to stiff us out of our money saying we didn't pay for it when we actually paid in cash. This put such a very bad taste in our mouth that we probably would consider another bowling alley. This incident is a huge red flag considering it's probably one of the smallest bowling alley's I've ever been to. If you're in this establishment, get receipts because their staff doesn't know how to do their job right. After reading other reviews of this place we realize this is a common complaint of rude staff. I'm surprised they are still in business to be honest.

This place was super fun! Arrived on a Saturday afternoon around 4pm-I did make sure to call ahead after reading the previous reviews to make sure lanes were open. Sure enough they were open-until about 5:30 or so. We purchased 3 shoe rentals and 2 games-the total charge was $33, which forced me to knock this down to a 4 star review. I believe the price is competitive for the area but it's too expensive if you ask me. The staff was quite friendly. The young bowler in our party ended up knocking one of the pins onto the lane, and someone rushed over right away to fix it for us. I needed to exchange shoes for a bigger size and that wasn't a problem either. Place was clean, and there were plenty of different sized balls to go around (hee hee). I'd definitely come here again, but I'll make sure to see if there are any price specials first.

Summer time to winter the waitresses have zero customer service skills and have waited multiple times over 15 mins for a waitress to acknowledge us once we were seated when it wasn't even busy. Food has been barely average and is edible each time. The last time we were given pop that was flat x3 different flavors/ taps and the waitress even made a comment that it looked gross but she said oh well and still gave it to us (ok????? Why did you say that to us and why would you do that to us??) After so many times and just saying water was fine shewas pissed at us about it like it was our fault? Then she took our order after not coming back for another 30 minutes and we never saw her again until maybe an hour later. Someone else brought food out and she never checked on us again. We saw her next to us on the other side of the wall diving us and thought she was busy cleaning a table that left but she went straight for the cash picked it up and shook her head and laughed and walked away and left the dirty table the rest of the time. Tons of tvs and the place seems to be packed everytime we drive by or went but I'm not sure what the hype is because it's terrible. We gave enough strikes that we won't be back.

Actually one of the nicer restaurants around. That may not be saying a lot but it's where to go if wanting something better than the chain restaurants. Coming here the first time we weren't sure what to expect. It's actually a lot more casual than it sounded at first. This isn't some fancy ass steakhouse. A lot more of a blue collar atmosphere. The prices are kind of high on cocktails though. It's about $16 for one of the Summer Mojitos. They have a few flavors to choose and I got raspberry. A lot of the food is meaty as expected. It's about $12 for the pretzels. Basic. We got these as one of our few options. Comes with what they call chips sauce, which is made with pickles amazingly. The rest of the menu features burgers and fries and of course big ass steaks. Has some of the better food in town to be honest. It's located in kind of a hard to see location. There's a crowd especially on weekends.

The service was extremely friendly and welcoming. Danae was our server again, just as she was on our previous visit, and she delivered the same excellent, attentive service. It's always a great sign when consistency carries over from one visit to the next. The Friday Fish Fry features four pieces of cod, each cut into roughly four-inch portions about the circumference of a quarter. This size allows the fish to cook evenly while maintaining its moisture and flaky texture. The cod is very lightly beer-battered, which we really appreciated--it enhances the flavor without overpowering the delicate taste of the fish. The standard accompaniments are cornbread and a lightly seasoned, fresh jicama slaw. One of the nice touches is the flexibility with sides--you're allowed to substitute fries and/or coleslaw for other options. I opted for a cup of the soup of the day, which was Cajun she-crab (excellent), along with onion straws. There are several other side choices available as well, some with a minimal upcharge. Our second experience was just as enjoyable as the first. We'll definitely be back--not only for the fish fry, but to explore more of the menu.
