    We love Laree Adda

Once again, my friends and I chose Laree Adda a week ago to have a nice Iftar meal together. Reservation was super easy to get, we just called the morning before and when we arrived, a table was set out for us already with dates in little bowls, which was so thoughtful. We ordered the family grilled platter to share, as well as some samosas, chai, and two types of chicken Karahi, as well as variety of breads. Service was painfully slow this time which is to be expected as literally literally everyone in the restaurant was trying to eat at the same time and it was a packed house not only with Dine In orders but also with people walking in to take pick up orders. The person at the cashier did his absolute best and we are so grateful for his kindness. I always order the samosas here because I absolutely love their tamarind chutney. Chicken was absolutely delicious, just needed a little bit of salt, but the gravy was made perfectly well. The grilled items were amazing. I really enjoyed the lamb chops, they were huge and fatty and perfectly grilled and rendered I was so impressed. Easily one of the best lamb chops I've ever had and they're not even super spicy or insane with the seasoning. It's just that they are cooked to absolute perfection which makes a world of a difference. This place has always been my go to but now that I have tried their dinner entrées, rest assured they have a loyal patron in me. If you are in New Jersey, this is the spot to get your Pakistani food fixed.

Wow, a Pakistani restaurant that overwhelmed in flavortown! Didn't think much about this place so came in with no expectations, but left feeling amazed. Sooo much flavor and originality comes out of this place. The service makes you feel like you are at home and welcomed with open arms. I wish they had a more authentic decor to give it a notch above the rest. Everything was made fresh and I loveddd their different Naan breads, couldn't get enough of it! Plus their housemade drinks are the bomb! As for the main courses, just finger licking yummy! FYI: Their food can be overly spicy to ones liking so let your server know how spicy you like it.

Ordered chicken biryani from here. Didn't like it at all. It had just 2 pieces of chicken. No raita to go with it. Biryani itself lacks flavor. It mostly plain yellow basmati rice with no veggies and no chicken.

Pakistani/Indian restaurant in Grove street. Service and the ambience was good but I'm not very satisfied with the food. They have a see through kitchen. Tried their Dal tadka, Tandoori Roti and Sesame naan. All 3 were okay; not so great. Also ordered lemon soda and Mint Margherita. The drinks were very good and better than food actually. Not many options for vegetarians too (may be 3 or 4).

While staying in Hilton in Manhattan, a friend of mine texted me to visit a good Punjabi, Pakistani restaurant across the Holland tunnel in downtown NJ, called Laree Adda .. Next thing, you know.. I am driving across the tunnel.. the food was great, I tried Peshawar's famous Chapli Kebab Burger, with Fries.. amazing.. next tried the Paratha, and famous Kashmiri Chai, and some Reshmi Seekh Kebabs.. pure heaven.. deliciously prepared, and finally, topped it with Motu Choor Ladoo, Patissa, and Chocolate Burfi as 3 dessert items. Wala!! Highly recommended Pakistani restaurant when in the NJ downtown or Manhattan downtown area!!

I love Pakistani Cuisine, and I am always on the lookout for new places to try. Ordered one of the Combo Platter and Biryani, along with some of their Desserts. I liked all the items I tried. Restaurant itself looked really nice and they have some really interesting Photos on display. Authentic Pakistani

Chai made to order takes about 10 minutes, but it is well worth the wait. It's difficult to find a non-pre-mixed chai that can be done with no sugar. Here, they insist that you add the sugar afterwards to your liking. This was the first time I've had the pink Kashmiri tea! Initially, I thought this was only a sweet shop, but there are full meals and a large layout with tables. The restaurant looks like there is room to expand or use space for catering if they need to. The Mithai or sweets consisting often of milk solids, flavoring, and sugar are the star of Laree Adda. We ordered a warmed gajar halwa, the Kashmiri chai, and a masala chai. We agreed that the masala chai could use slightly more cardamom and spice, but perhaps if I had let it rest in the pot longer more of the spice would come through. The gajar halwa was tasty but more solid than either of us had tried before. This was a perfect place to pass the time and have a pick me up for the afternoon!

I had high expectations and I didn't really enjoy the things I tried Chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Garlic naan seemed more like garlic pizza but not enough garlic. It wasn't the naan texture I am used to... wouldn't get it again Chicken tikka- it's okay but didn't finish and wouldn't get it again as well Parking: street parking

A little gem in downtown Jersey City. Right in front of the municipal hall. Atmosphere is great, place is clean, service is quick. Went here Sunday afternoon for a late lunch and there was quite a crowd. Can't imagine during lunch and on a busy weekday. Love the interiors and the place doesn't have that distinct smell of spices when you come out. Food is good and warm when it's served. Servers are polite and pleasant. Overall a good Indian-Pakistani go-to place downtown

This is the Chicken Tikka Masala (NEW). See how it's seperating? It tastes like a smell(if that makes sense). I have had food from many indian, malaysian, singaporean spots but this is terrible. This is after I mixed it in mind you. Before this it looked like heavy whipping cream and tikka mixed together. They also decided to give me old chicken(trust me it smells spoiled). The naan is nothing to write home about either. If you're not Asian(Indian,Bangladeshi, etc) don't go here. Poor service and worse food

They have the best karahi and the service is great! Today we tired the chicken biryani and it was spot on. A must try ... Also tried karak chai and sweets.. loved everything ! Definitely coming back for all of the above ! Ambiance is really nice, good music, good vibe.

Laree Adda is like that coy significant other who continually keeps you guessing. You never know whether this fickle flirtation will ever blossom into something more beautiful, more meaningful, more lasting... I've been seeing Laree Adda off-and-on for a couple of years. Some visits leave me satisfied and soon yearning for more. These include visits when I have the makhani chicken handi, the mughal nashta (halwa poori), the achari aloo, the Lalla ki nihari, or the paindoo omelette with the perfectly flaky paratha. Other visits leave me disappointed and questioning whether I should ever return for another meal. These include the few times I had requested one of the Canteen items (bun kabab, Adda'wich, shami kabab, etc., which are often unavailable) or the Anarkali falooda (which is still on the menu, but is never available). Fortunately, while my experiences with Laree Adda have been hit-or-miss, there have been more hits than misses. The Mughal nashta is consistently delicious. The poori is perfectly fluffy, the Lahori choley are tender and flavorful, and the Achari aloo is delightfully tangy. The paratha is the perfect mix of crispy and chewy. The bun kabab, on the other hand, seemed to have been thrown together in a hurry. The bun was not grilled (it was cold), and there was way too much ketchup on it. I have had it once, when it was finally available, and I felt like it was a letdown after all the excitement and anticipation. My brother tried it more recently, and was happy with it, so maybe I should give it another try. The gunpowder chai is another hit, and the dum omelette is a mystery (nobody knows if it is the same thing as the paindoo omelette; it is on the menu but is never available, and the person taking my order does not seem to have ever heard of it). I think Laree Adda will continue to see plenty of me.

We ordered Gol Gappay, lamb biryani, Gosht Karahi, and a naan. The Gol Gappay was interesting. Crispy shells filled with chickpeas and potato, with a tangy, salty, savory flavor. Adding a little yogurt balanced it out nicely. Definitely something different. The lamb biryani was around the low teens price-wise and came in a huge portion with plenty of meat. The lamb was slightly dry -- felt like it may have been prepared earlier and kept warm -- but still flavorful and within expectations for the price. The standout for us was the Gosht Karahi. Tender but slightly chewy lamb, very savory and well seasoned, with lots of large chunks of meat. It looks a bit pricey at first, but considering how much meat you actually get, it felt like a solid value. We packed up half of it and still thought the leftovers were more generous than some restaurants' fresh servings. The naan was massive. Good flavor, although it didn't have that super fresh-out-of-the-tandoor smoky char. Funny enough, reheating it in the air fryer at home made it even better. One thing to know: every dish here runs large, so this place is better with a group. There are parking spots in front, but not many.

It's unfortunate that I have to post this as I feel despite us voicing our concern (multiple times) in person with the staff and also on the phone when ordering take out, the staff is not trained and do not take certain dietary restrictions seriously such as food allergies. After having a child who suffers from peanut and egg allergies, whenever we have dined or ordered from here as of lately, we have politely asked for certain food not to be served together and prepared properly. After expressing this, the staffs answer is rude and with an attitude and us being told "ok i'll just put it in a separate plate" after it being cross contaminated and served. Then during a take out order when we called to alert that there is an allergy, to please ensure the food is properly handled and packed separately from egg-containing items, we were told (specifically by Jaspreet) it is already prepared and packed, so the best that can be done is taken out and packed separately instead of adhering to the urgency of the matter and re-preparing the food. Our child broke out in hives due to their negligence in the past and I fear that their inefficiency to understand the seriousness of this matter will one day result in legal action being taken against this establishment if God forbid someone else has a reaction or worse a Fatality. My post isn't intended towards the quality of the food, it is more so to be heard and create awareness on this matter as it seems this establishment can care less towards your health needs. Update: We were contacted by ownership (Ishrath) and accused of being in the wrong and were met with disrespect and advised not to come to this establishment anymore as they cannot meet our "crazy demands." We should have been heard out, which was explained to co-ownership (Sobia) a few minutes after my review was posted, that this wasn't a personal jab towards the establishment however has happened to us on multiple accounts, specifically from staff member Jaspreet the past two times in a matter of two weeks. There was no apology on the matter, just defensiveness in a "sweet tone." This is more so a validation that despite us voicing our concerns multiple times in person, it has fallen on deaf ears and it is unfortunate that we have had to go to such extremes as posting this to be heard. Since my post, we see the attempt to have our post buried, and quite frankly hope it made a difference, albeit they have lost our business however we know the restaurant will still thrive. Still wishing them the best of luck and hopefully prevents any future consequence on this matter.

To our surprise, nearly everything was a letdown. Wish they had a bell or something in the counter outside for the customers to call them . Sometimes you keep waiting for many minutes before they come out . For the price , food was good . They have many food items on display and we chose some curries .. quantity was good . Naan , white rice and 2 non veg curries for 13.50$. Not bad. ... goat curry was good . Perfect Lahori taste . Chicken curry was average . Could have tasted better . My only issue is presentation. The y just mix all curries in rice and they are smashed all across the plate . Wish they give these curries in separate containers so we can enjoy the flavor of each curries . Another thing is they just reheat these curries . They are precooked . Sometimes with that , we wouldn't know if it is fresh . It tasted fresh though. Overall a good restaurant but giving them 3 stars . Will visit again and check and improve my ratings if needed
