    Chicken Bao Bun

Tiny place with a limited but tasty menu I stopped by Indian Tapas a few times for a quick lunch or after-work bite in Fall 2025. The place is tiny but cute, with nice décor and a cozy feel. The menu is very limited, and I've tried most of it: Chicken Tikka/Haryali/Achari/Kebab Rolls, Dabeli, and the Chicken Bao Bun. The rolls are tasty and flavorful with good combination of sauces. However, they all taste quite similar since they use the same marinated, somewhat dry chicken. Out of the four rolls, the Chicken Kebab Roll was the juiciest, and Haryali Roll had the most flavor. The Dabeli was excellent, and the Chicken Bao Bun was very good, though it also used the same chicken as the rolls. The roll size is modest, and at $8 each, they feel a bit overpriced. I personally needed three rolls for a satisfying lunch, which comes to $24 without drinks. I'd suggest making the rolls slightly larger, using juicier chicken, adding more sauce (the green sauce I was given on the side made a big difference), and expanding the menu with lamb options. Overall, it's still a good spot for flavorful Indian small bites.

Came here for a quick lunch and this place was amazing! It's perfect for to-go food. The kati rolls are incredibly amazing! I really like that they make them with parathas instead of naan. The menu is very friendly towards vegetarians and you won't miss the meat at all. The other thing I want to give them extra credit for is because they made Sevi. Most Indian restaurants make kheer (rice pudding). However, for me the vermicelli pudding by far is my favorite. IG: QueenOfAdventureNYC

    Paneer Tikka Rolls

Wanted to grab a "late lunch" of sorts before our evening paint session in NYC, so stumbled across this place for a 4pm bite. The options were plentiful, but my mind was laser focused on the kati rolls. Kati rolls are one of my favorite Indian snacks.... more than anything honestly. Knowing that my friends at the infamous NYC location are my all-time favorite, I wanted to see how this fared in comparison. So first thing first, you order via a kiosk and the food can come through pretty quickly. For me, I was the only one, so... yeah lol. I ordered 2 Paneer Tikka Rolls. This is the closest thing to my favorite Achari Paneer rolls. Of course, you can't have every ingredient match, but this sufficed. So at $8/kati roll, it's similar priced (if not more?) than the Kati Roll Company. The rolls itself.... were not that bad. They got the paneer marinated properly. Maybe a little too much yogurt here and there, but I think it's damn close. The rolls itself aren't as crispy as Kati Roll Company. It can leak out a bit at the end, but the flavor is there. 2 rolls are more than plenty. I ordered the mango lassi. It was kinda mediocre in my opinion, but it was the best alternative for me at the moment, since I got my coffee fix in the morning. This would do. The interior looks pretty nice and definitely a good amount of seating. Figure most grab and go anyways.

Modern and clean fast casual restaurant for tasty Indian street bites. Place your order on one of the self-ordering kiosks and then wait for your number to be called to pick-up your food. The dishes looked small at first but were actually pretty filling! I tried the tikka paneer roll and the dabeli, both which were very flavorful and spiced perfectly. The chai was also great to enjoy with the meal.

Call it Indian fast food. The small place is very interesting. You come in and order via a kiosk. The fare is mainly kathi rolls and there's a good variety to choose from. I had the paneer haryali roll and the masala aloo roll. Both were very tasty. I think the paneer roll was slightly better, but both were tasty. I'm definitely coming back to try some more.

Really nice. Good food, quick service and fun decor. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the butter chicken bao buns and samosa paav. They tasted very good.

After an hour of waiting for our food, the three tables around us who arrived after us already got their food and were nearly done with their meal. We ask about this twice, and each time the owner says all three tables "pre-ordered" their food. I was confused and asked every table if this was true and obviously it was not. Before leaving, we confront the owner about the inconsistencies in his story, but he just double downs on his lie, alleging that we don't understand how a restaurant is run. For some reason, he even started to yell at the busgirl who was trying to get him to apologize? In addition to holding us hostage for an hour and continued lying, he tries to make the racist point that Indian food is more sophisticated and takes longer to prepare than other types of Asian food. I feel there are certain standards in the NYC service industry given the competition, and this was a confusing and unacceptable experience. The food was admittedly good, but not good enough for them to have the attitude they had.

We finally got to try it out and I really loved the beautiful design, elaborate lighting and nostalgic pictures inside. Even the bathrooms were tastefully decorated to match the very Indian theme. Amritsari Chole Tikka Murgh malai tikka Mutton sukka with butter naan and garlic naan Achari chicken with basmati rice Rabdi with lychee. Everything was beautifully presented and had so much flavor. The butter naan and mutton were some of my favorites. I am not someone that can handle a lot of spice and I found the food very spicy but I had to eat it because it was so good. My friends are Asian and seemed fine with the spice level. The rabdi dessert was the perfect ending to the meal. This was so creamy and delicious. I would return just for this dessert alone. The only shortcoming were the drinks. They looked very cool but the flavors were just not good. The delicious food and ambiance made up for the drinks. This place is expensive so I would come for a special occasion and be prepared to pay accordingly.

However, we never really got to it, having been busy exploring the Semmas and Bungalows of the city. On a cold Saturday evening my partner and I decided to give Indian Accent a shot - got rather last minute reservations over the phone. They were kind enough to accommodate us for a 7 pm slot, and once we got there we were seated immediately. We chose the four course menu, and found each course to be better than the one before! The shorba (soup) and garlic kulcha amuse bouche was a nice touch to get things started - loved the tiny terracotta mugs. Proceeded onto the shakarkandi chaat and the chilly pork roti - the former reminding me of the delectable street food in Delhi winters with the latter being a very good Indian rif on birria tacos. The star of the show for me was the Tofu medu vada - so unique and flavorful and melt in the mouth! I've not had anything quite like it before. My partner had the wagyu kebab that he said was excellent! For mains we had the chicken malai and the paneer - both tasty, but by this point we were already so full, and had to get most of the mains to go. But because there's always room for dessert, for our final course we scarfed down doda barfi with ice-cream and sticky toffee banana pudding - both of which were finger licking delish! Our service was great too - Ty our server was so nice and had the best recommendations. I'd have never gone for the tofu medu vada among all the other options and he urged me to, and it really turned out to be the highlight of my meal. The cocktails were good too. All in all, I think this is such a nice upscale Indian dining spot for a night out in the city. Having tried most of the other trending newer spots, i think Indian Accent sits right among the top! I'd highly recommend and cannot wait to be back!

Our goal was to avoid anything too spicy, and we were able to do that while still getting a lot of flavor. *Eral Thokku (Tiger prawns): Recommended by several people at the restaurant. The prawns were cooked well, and the sauce was rich with a bit of texture and some spice. *Gunpowder Dosa: The most fun dish of the evening. A big portion, crispy on the outside with a very soft, curry flavored potato filling. Comes with a variety of sauces that makes it easy to keep eating. *Roadside Kalan (Mushrooms): Another strong dish. Fried battered mushrooms on top with a spicy mushroom stew underneath. *Annasi Pazham Scallop: Good, but one of the less memorable dishes of the evening. *Valiya Chemmeen Moilee (Lobster Tail): Very rich and flavorful, similar to a curry sauce. We were quite full by the time this came, so it was a bit hard to fully enjoy it. Service was very friendly and helpful. They walked us through the menu in detail, which was especially useful since we were not familiar with many of the dishes. We also had to wait a bit longer for our table, and they brought us glasses of champagne, which was a very nice gesture. The ambiance is fun, lively, and comfortable.
