In my opinion, beware of Larkin Movers. The movers stole a states quarter collection and irreplaceable family photos of my deceased mother that were in the quarter folder. We did the collection for our grandson and one of them stole it. They also broke items that we were minimally reimbursed for by Garett. I think that he is a smooth upfront person, but ghosted us for a while before dealing with the breakage. Again, in my opinion, beware of this company. read more

I haven't had much luck with moving companies. I used Beltmann to move from Boulder. Over charged me and damaged so much stuff! Their FLL warehouse is supposed to be "climate" controlled...sure when they go home at night they shut those huge doors but during the day the place is like a Sauna! I thought Bekins who moved me 8 miles with a quote of $5700 charged me almost $10,0000! One of the worst moving experiences of my life. Awful!! Next up Larkins. The owner is a nice guy but they claimed to do long distance moves but had to rent a truck? They moved me from Delray area to Boston. Almost $30,000! There is/was so much damage to furniture, my very expensive Focal music speakers and sound anchor rack (powder coated steel) some home they managed to not only scratch the hell out of it but it actually got a bad dent......my $1000 deep sky binoculars GONE! Routine appliances like a Shark Vac Mop.....no power cord....in the middle of the move..."We have to go return the 2nd truck" and they disappeared for almost 3 hours.......my big strong son wanted to assemble my bed but none of the hardware could be found so I had to stay in a hotel for a few nights until we got this mess untangled. They didn't leave until after 10 PM. And yes I tipped them bcz they did work hard and it's not their fault.....good training starts with the Boss......it's been almost a year since the move and I am still trying to find missing parts, still finding damaged furniture. I thought Bekins was horrible but they are in the minor leagues compared to Larkins! I should mention also that it was cold and had just rained and these brainiacs started backing the truck onto the front lawn and I was screaming No! No! The heavily loaded truck dug 2 trenches on the front lawn which I had to work at repairing as I am renting this home. So my advice: 1. Get moving insurance!!!!! 2. Be careful after the move bcz as you all know it's the lowest form of human activity and you usually ended up exhausted by the time the movers are done so you'll sign anything while dazed by the experience. And the paperwork signing is kinda stupid bcz you haven't really unpacked anything to see what was damaged or missing. These guys did the goofiest things like disassembling a TV table which folds flat...now it doesn't fold at all...my master bedroom dresser was shrink wrapped with all the contents still inside including a very fine collection of expensive watches etc......some got scratched, and one is actually broken...my rough estimate for damages is about $10K! And I'm still searching for appliance power cords...I'm afraid to unpack my art collection to see what damage was done... I took about 25 photos of the damage and sent them to a friend of the guy who recommended them......in fact they used to be friends...you know what I got back from Larkins? Crickets. Run away as fast as you can particularly if you are doing a long distance move. read more

We moved to SoFlo 5yrs ago and came across Garett at Larkins to move us from a condo and storage unit to our new home. Excellent communication, great employees, handled our stuff with no damage and being careful of walls and flooring. Months later he bought some additional furniture and hired Larkins to pick up and deliver, again perfect. Love these guys! They were quick, affordable and fun to work with! We moved not only our house but our storage unit all in one day! They were super personable and got things done in a timely manor. Everything was packed well, nothing was damaged and I trusted them to do what they needed to do. We've moved before and tried to do it ourselves and it took so much time and it was so exhausting. Did not have to tell them more than once and if I needed to make any adjustments at the last minute, they were able to do that immediately. A day or two before my major move Mr. Larkin had me sign a document. As it turns out the document waved my rights to insurance over .07 cents on the dollar. Despite my building requiring him to prove the move was covered for a million dollars. A major piece of furniture was broken as well as items that were initially lost or left behind. I asked for insurance to cover the item and Mr. Larkins' insurance company denied the claim. Beware of this form of manipulation and read all the paper work. He was neither nice nor professional. read more

The best movers I've used ever...by far. It was a long distance move from Florida to Connecticut. Fast, efficient, careful and totally professional. The owner is totally on top of everything and super communicative. The crew was phenomenal...and very patient with my moving furniture around on two different floors. They gave me an estimate of when they would arrive in Ct. and they were right on time. Seriously couldn't have asked for a better experience. And very accommodating to picking up and dropping off some furniture along the way. I loved the fact it was the same crew who packed that then unpacked at the other end. No hand-offs. Larkins Moving Company did an excellent job with my recent move from West Palm Beach to Saint Petersburg. They were extremely professional, from the day Gareth came by for the quote until they delivered the last piece of furniture and asked for my final signature. On the day of pickup from my house they were right on time. They demonstrated great care for all my items, whether already boxed or not and whether fragile or not. All furniture was very carefully wrapped with moving blankets and carefully loaded into the truck. All paintings were wrapped with moving paper or blankets, before being boxed for extra protection. All other fragile items were doubly or triply wrapped to ensure even the most delicate glass pieces arrived safely. They finished my pickup and moved on to my storage facility. Both pickups went very smoothly. The next morning they arrived at the delivery site right on time. Here they faced the additional challenge that they were moving my goods up to the 22nd floor of a condo building. They had to park in the street and use the freight elevator, from which they had to place floor covering almost 100 feet to my front door. Once done, they moved all my boxes in as directed and then all the furniture was carefully moved in, placed as directed and assembled as need. They were very efficient with their time and there were no scratches or any breakage from the move. They made the move very easy and I certainly recommend them for any move you need to do.
