I wish I skipped coming here. This is unsanitary. The pedicure bowl had no cover, a REUSABLE foot scrubber was used before I realized and requested a single use one, and I do not know if any tools were sanitized. I see them cleaning tools off in the sink. I hope that is not the only sanitizing done on tools. I will not be back. read more

There is plenty of parking in the area and the spa is easily seen with the signage outside. I was a walk in and was able to be seated immediately for a deluxe pedicure. The atmosphere is very clean and pleasant. There is light classical music that plays in the background. The staff all have a professional appearance with similar colored shirts. They were all properly masked and there are screens in place for covid exposure. My nail tech got to work immediately taking off my old nail polish. She trimmed down my nails with what looked like a cuticle nipper, which I thought was odd, but did the trick. She trimmed my cuticles and buffed out my nails. She did an exfoliation scrub with a light massage. This was followed by a paraffin wax treatment, a hot towel treatment, and another light massage. The last few things were all very relaxing. When it comes to painting my nails, she trimmed more cuticles as my feet dried off before starting with the polish. Great experience! read more

A friend and I went here a few years ago and were treated so badly that we just decided to never return. The people were so unfriendly and teetered on rude. The services were subpar for the expense. My daughter purchased a Groupon from a place called gentle hands massage and she gave it to me as a birthday gift. Come to find out it's the same place. I walk in to the salon to find someone say, Oh, you're here for a massage. Just sit and wait, she's almost finished. 20 minutes(10 past my appointment time) later a woman hands me forms to fill out. I fill the forms out, we go over the questions together. Normal questions, do you take prescription drugs, smoke, points of pain.... so on. I'm taken to a room instructed to disrobe to my comfort and she would return.... I do. I'm on the table for a few minutes and she comes in. She immediately begins coughing and making gagging sounds. She asks again if I am a smoker. I truthfully say yes. She says, you have to reschedule and walked out. I was stunned. I know there are sensitivities to smells and smoking is the worst. (I know) I get dressed, feeling pretty mortified I might add, walk out of the room and she is sitting at the counter. without making eye contact she says, you can get a refund at Groupon. Wow. Just wow. It would have been ok had there been disclosures on the voucher but there weren't. It would have been ok had the appointment not taken several calls to actually get. It would have been ok had the person making the appointment tell me of the allergy along with the necessity to tip. She literally told me 3 times that I needed to bring money to tip with while I made the appointment, yet made no mention of allergies. I just felt bad. I wasted 45 minutes of my Saturday to be made feel like I was worth less than the ash of my dirty cigarette. read more

I have nothing but positive things to say about this salon. I usually get Shellacque manicure and pedicure and never leave disappointed. They get incredibly busy (especially on the weekends) so making an appointment is a must to ensure you can be seen. There is a very positive, friendly neighborhood vibe and there is always a great conversation going on amongst the salon staff and the customers. This is a nice neighborhood salon and spa tucked in the north Raleigh neighborhood of Bedford. The spa is under new management with better prices and better attitudes. The staff is very accommodating and eager to please. I've gotten my eyebrows done, and a couple of pedicures. They've done a good job with both services, but the pedicures are especially nice with massage chairs that have settings that you can control. Probably due to the location of the spa, they are sometimes under-staffed, and on occasion I have had to leave because of the wait, so appointments are highly recommended. I probably wouldn't drive out of my way to come here for a pedicure, but it's super convenient for those who live nearby. It offers everything that you'll find in the salons located in many strip malls - with a touch of more class. I went to this spa last year and it was very frustrating. I asked for French Tip pedi and the woman argued with me that it wouldn't look good on my nails because of the condition of my nails, which actually are bad. The woman wanted to use pink on my nails. We agreed back and forth and I gave in. I was with 3 other people and didn't want to make a scene. The spa is within walking distance so I called for another appointment just now hoping that situation was a fluke. I received a gift certificate for North Raleigh Spa for Mother's Day. I looked online to see what their hours were and noticed they were open on Sunday's! That's an unusual find for a spa. They open at 12, I got there about 12:30. There was already a wait with appointments and walk ins. I decided to go grab a glass of wine while I wait then they yelled for me to comeback in and that they were ready! I didn't have to wait at all. Bonus. The lady who did my pedicure was super sweet and did a swell job. They have lots of options for pedicures and manicures. The massage chairs were newer and worked really well. My husband got me a living social deal to this place for a massage... I was really worried because there were no reviews on this place for their massages. I arrived and found the place very nice and clean. There is no where to really relax before or after your massage but I really don't care for that all the time. My therapist was Shakira, she was great! She used the right amount of pressure, but she did ask a few times if the pressure was okay. I had some tough knots that she worked on to help get them out. Raleigh is higher priced than some other metros (Austin, Atlanta, DC) but when I'm home and need a nail job I go here. The techs are meticulous about the manicure. If I could give this a negative 5 stars I would. The most unprofessional and inexperienced hair staff I have ever known. DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR HAIR. I have been getting my hair done for years- very long hair with highlights and low lights. My usual stylist wasn't able to accommodate my schedule so I went to North Raleigh Spa and Salon--I expected this salon to be more "Uppity" if you will, since it's North Raleigh: I was sadly mistaken. I asked for a root touch up and half inch trim with a modest face frame. They turned my roots PUMPKIN ORANGE and blunt cut the side of my hair. The staff and owner were so extremely unprofessional- really embarrassing; the owner asked if the stylist would go to CVS to get cover up spray to "fix" my hair. It is VERY APPARENT that these hair stylists have no experience or confidence in their work and it shows. It cost me an extreme amount of money and 6 hours at another salon to get my hair back to a normal color. The cut couldn't be corrected without drastic cutting so it was decided to let it grow would be best. I provided North Raleigh with a receipt to reimburse me for the money I had to spend to correct my hair-- which is now so fragile from all the work it needed to NOT be orange. -- North Raleigh then used the info on the receipt and CALLED THE SALON THAT FIXED MY HAIR AND TOLD THE MANAGER THAT THEY WERE THE ONES THAT RUINED MY HAIR!!!! It has been constant harassment since. Not only did they (North RALEIGH owner and stylist) slander me, but then gave out my personal phone number without permission and continue to text, call, and leave voicemails saying "I'm taking advantage of them." I cannot stress this enough---PLEASE DO NOT go near this salon for anything hair related. If I can save someone else from going through what I went through then I'm thankful. These people are rude, barely speak English so they can't comprehend what you're saying and miscommunicate everything! They don't have boundaries and they certainly are not experienced in hair. I had to resort to legalities to get them to leave me alone. It got so bad that I don't even want reimbursement; I just want them to leave me alone. Went in for a hair cut and waxing. Thought I was going to get a pixie, but I had been cutting it myself and let a mohawk type cut grow out so there were limited options. The hair stylist was friendly and explained the options for my hair. I also wanted something super low maintenance. Ended up just getting little more than a trim and some shaping, but it looks very nice. Got an eyebrow and lip wax. I don't get waxed often enough to really judge their work. read more

I was about 5 minutes before leaving and then the technician came over to start work. Only 2 people can do gel nails in the establishment and 1 seems to be the owner who had lots of appointments. I had a mani-pedi with Ly. She was sweet and understanding of my request to not cut cuticles and to file in one direction rather than sawing back and forth like so many technicians do. My only critique though was that I asked for a buff & shine. This takes less time than a regular mani-pedi and requires no product, but they charge $5 extra for each service which makes absolutely no sense. Ly said that's just what they do. So let me tell you my feet well a MESS cooped up all winter in boots.....but Holly made them sparkle like brand new, they also dont change for extra foot buffing. I had a deep tissue massage the other day by their new massage therapist Leslie. I have been having issues with my neck and shoulders, she did a wonderful job!
