Larry's is without a doubt the most amazing (and also overwhelming) place to shop for affordable, quality, local produce in the area. I had heard people rave about Larry's Produce since I moved to the area a year ago and finally figured it's time I make the trip. I wasn't prepared for how busy it would be and found people parking on side streets nearby and walking over. Upon entering through the back, I was very impressed with their Fall setup. They had every kind of pumpkin and gourd under the sun available. The pumpkins were all priced fairly and affordably and there were beautifully displayed haybales and pumpkin displays that were great for photo ops and made for a magical Fall feeling. As I ventured inside, I was again struck by how many people were shopping and found it difficult to even move in certain spots. However, their shop is huge, so there were always spots with little traffic. Everything is local and FEELS local at Larry's. This is a no frills shop with signs written on posterboard with markers. Most things aren't prepackaged nicely, but thrown in bulk bins to pick through. It also means that you may need to give everything an extra thorough cleaning before cooking. When I got my brussell sprouts home, for instance, I found dirt in every nook and cranny and had to spend a considerable amount of time getting inside each leafy layer to ensure it was clean enough to eat. Their offering is extensive, with your staples (apples, tomatoes, potatoes, greens, etc.), as well as many things that I had never even heard of and couldn't even tell you if it was a fruit or vegetable. Pricing on all items were incredibly fair. I walked out with bags full of produce for under $20. I ended up buying so much that I needed to flash freeze several of my items for later use. We just got back from Larry's. We were in the area and looked it up since we wanted to find a place to pick our own stuff. When we walked in, we were shocked by the prices. Almost like a joke it was so cheap. We are used to Safeway produce prices, so you can imagine our surprise. This place is insane; so much so that we plan on making it a regular stop even though it's an hour drive for us. This is what we bought and what we paid: 3 large bell peppers, 3 cloves of garlic, 6 limes, 3 oranges, 2 large tomatoes, and about 20 peppers (self picked) for $6.50!! No one will ever get that kind of deal. Still can't believe how cheap it was. The quality also, their produce is soooo fresh. Every single one of the avocadoes was perfect, same as the tomatoes, etc. I couldn't imagine why anyone on Earth who lives near here would ever buy fresh fruits and veggies from anywhere else. read more

We drove all the way from Elk Grove to finally check this place out after our friends told us about it. This is by far my favorite place to purchase produce! Omg, I was so excited and overwhelmed at the same time lol. We purchased a BOX of heirloom tomatoes for $5, delicious mangoes for $1, Brussel sprouts 99c/lb, cauliflower $1.50/head. I mean seriously it doesn't get any better than that. But it does! After you've picked all the delicious fruits and vegetables you'd like and you worked up an appetite they have a stand in the back! They have a big bbq grill set up where you see them cooking large slabs of ribs, and whole chickens with some amazing seasonings on it. You can get anything from a full slab or ribs to a whole chicken to take home to a plate of two ribs with a side for $6 or a chicken wrap enough to feed two people for $7 Come here hungry! Lol I know I'm happy we did. Lol Promise this place doesn't disappoint! I was only sad they didn't have lychees but that's okay, they had a lot more other goodies to purchase. read more

I'm rating Larry's produce based on our trip there to look for Halloween pumpkins at a real farm. We went on a Saturday 2 days before Halloween and were pleasantly surprised by the selection of different types of pumpkins and gourds which even had labels! We've never seen so many varieties and colors of pumpkins and ended up filling our cart (yes they have shopping carts and wheel barrels!) buying about 10 different "pumpkins". As their name implies there's lots of other fruit and produce sold there as well. They had a tractor pulling people around a modest field and the corn maze if you or your kids are so inclined to take a partake. If you want a real Farm stand experience this place is pretty good. And if you want to see a huge variety of pumpkins and Gourds this is a great spot. read more

You cannot go wrong here proce and quality wise. I wish they were open all year long. I do have to say though, my teenage daughter and I were so shocked when, as we picked cherries, one of the employees came over to add more cherries to the bin and he took then out of bags that you see cherries come in the grocery store. Larry's produce carries a variety of fruits and vegetables at a really cheap price. My family eats a lot of fruit and shopping at Raley's or Safeway can get expensive. We went to Larry's today and got 2 huge watermelons, 2 cantaloupes, 2 containers of strawberries, 4 containers of blackberries, white peaches, white nectarines, pluots, avocados, tomatoes, pears, and mangoes all for $45. At a grocery store this would have cost a lot more. The reason for the minus one star is because some of the fruit is already really ripe and needs to be eaten really soon so you have to pick your fruit carefully. Another great attribute to Larry's Produce is the staff is great and will help you pick good fruit if you ask. There are also a couple of food trucks, an ice cream truck, and a little area where they sell raspados (shaved ice). I recommend getting some cantaloupe juice when you're there. Last week I visited Larry's Produce for the first time. According to my mom this place is always busy and I found this to be true during our Wednesday afternoon visit. Larry's Produce is definitely a hidden gem for anyone who loves fresh fruits and vegetables. After we parked I noticed several wheel barrels and buckets. Yes, people buy wheel barrels full of produce; that's how great this place is. I was impressed by the large variety of fruits and vegetables available. Everything looked clean, neat and organized. The prices were cheap, similar to the farmers market if not better. My mom got okra, corn, cucumbers and rainer cherries for just under $5. If you happen to miss your local weekly farmers market no need to wait until next week, just drop in to Larry's Produce. Tip: Be careful when driving here. Some locals drive really fast as if they are on a race course. I was afraid I was going to get rear ended when trying to make the turn off the main road. read more

Holy fruits and veggies, Batman! Can you say "AMAZING!" boys and girls? Larry's is an out of the way produce market in Mancas Corner that is totally worth the trip to discover. The first time I was in-I was shocked at the selection, from avocados to Asian eggplants, from Indian bitter melons to giant crunchy grapes fresh off the vines. If you're looking for it, Larry's probably has it. I came up here because I needed Kabocha (Japanese pumpkin) for a recipe, and I was told they'd have it. Sure enough, there was a giant bin full of gorgeous Kabochas waiting to be bought in the back of the market. In October they have a HUGE pumpkin patch out back with dozens of varieties of pumpkins and squash, a corn maze, a haunted house, and some small kiddies attractions for the Wee Ones. Just be mindful that they are super busy on the weekends and you'll need to park across the road in their overflow lot. But no matter if you're a passionate amateur cook or a professional chef like me, this is the produce stand you've been looking for. I never buy any produce anywhere else. read more

I have coming to Larry's since the early '90s, it's has changed quite a bit. I recall the wheel barrel s and we would pick our bell peppers, hot peppers and one or two other veggies. Now it's a large outdoor produce stand with much more options, I like it because its affordable and now that they've added food on the premises it's even better. I had their chicken today ,although it's pricey, one chicken$14.00 side $3 each and $1 for 6 tortillas and drinks $2 it's very tasty. I have not tasted the ribs but will next time I'm there, I come from sf so it's not every week. read more

I can't believe i haven't written a review for Larry's yet, but Larry's is awesome! We've been going here ever since I was a little kid, back when we would slap on the sunscreen and pick the fruits and veggies ourselves out in the back for fun. It's a little off the beaten path, but it's gained popularity over the years and nowadays it's kind of like being in a pack of sardines if you stop by on the weekends. It can get pretty hot and everything is outdoors, so be prepared. There aren't any shopping carts, so bring your own bags or buckets to hold all your goodies. They have a TON of fruits and veggies at unbelievably low prices compared to the grocery store. The other day, I got a whole box of groceries for ~$17! That included a large bunch of lacinto kale, rainbow chard, mangoes, rainier cherries, beefsteak tomatoes, green apples (the entire bag was 99 cents), cayote, ginger, etc. If you ever have a chance to stop by, you definitely should. It's not too far from the freeway exit near Budweiser/Jelly Belly, and they're opening from around June to December I believe from 9am to 5pm. read more

Great quality of fresh fruit and veggies out here. Can't get any fresher than coming straight from a farm at very affordable prices! If you're a serious veggie and fruit eater, then use a wheelbarrow and load up! You won't see that in your local grocery store lol ... otherwise, they have little plastic bags throughout the place. TIP: Bring your own tote bag if you're novice fruit and veggie eaters like us, otherwise, you'll be juggling little plastic bags of fruit until you reach the counter. Came on opening day so that was fun. I compare it more to a Black Friday for fruits and veggies LOL Parking was a bit crazy but it's part of the experience and it was fun to see people coming in and out hauling their fruits and veggies on wheelbarrows. CASH IS KING. Make sure to withdraw before coming up but there is an ATM inside as well for your shopping pleasure :) There's snow cones for the kids and even a food truck out front if you want to eat something other than fruits and veggies. There are porta potties on the side and a hand wash station. Wash them hands please! What an awesome produce market and the kids get a kick out of seeing the variety of fruits and veggies!
