Ended back in my Hometown of Chatham to Help my Parents do some Yard Work on this Windy Cold Day...we ended up going for Lunch at Larry's PX, been our favorite Place to have Breakfast and Lunch, I started with a Clam Chowder....it was very Thick and it was not my favorite.... unfortunately, too Rich for me....now the Main Dish I had: "Jay Melt" with Sweet Potato Fries, it was a Hamburger Patty with Mayo, Lettuce, Tomato, and Cheese, that was really delicious, did not even needed Mustard and Ketchup, the Sweet Potato Fries were fantastic too, if you never been to Larry's PX in Chatham I would definitely Recommend it, it's a great Spot to Go-To, not too Expensive either read more

My husband came here with our kids and said their breakfast was good so I decided to just get a quick bagel. Since the young girl took 15 minutes to get my bagel with cream cheese, I expected the best thing to ever be eaten. Well it turns out the girl just moves at a sloths pace and the bagel was worse than a frozen grocery store bagel. She didn't even put the cream cheese on so I'm not sure what took her so long considering I was the only one there. read more

Vegetable Omelet was ok, not great. Not sure they seasoned the eggs at all. Coffee was ok too. Told the waitress that i didn't need home fries, but didn't see a discount on the bill. She was nice otherwise. Lots of old men chewing the fat during breakfast. Politics came up. At least on dip shit was pro Trump and taking about how Kamala Harris, who is of Indian descent, was going to give reparations to black people. I don't need this nonsense when I'm drinking my morning coffee . This isn't necessarily the restaurant's fault, but you may want to obvious this crowd. read more

We first came here last year and had to come back, twice this time. They had gluten free bread and English muffins (yeah) and our breakfasts were delicious. The servers are very friendly and a big part of the experience. If you want a good, traditional breakfast experience, this is the place. How many reasonably priced"Mom and Pop" places can co-exist with overpriced tourist trips? At least one, it seems, as this morning I returned to one of my favorite Cape Cod M&Ps, Larry's PX. Thirty years after stopping in for a coffee, donuts and the Cape Cod paper, the coffee is still hot, the cheese omelet still made on the grill and the service still friendly. Larry's is a return to the past, when neighbors met neighbors gathered for a morning bite with conversation to begin their days. Larry's PX is a Chatham institution. As you walk in, you see various items for sale such as beach toys, postcards and newspapers. There were a few people in line in front of us, but they were seated quickly. We ate here twice during our most recent time spent in Chatham. Our first visit we ate at the counter and the second time we were lucky enough to grab a table. Yes, this establishment is old school, but it's very fitting for this quaint New England town. Larry's PX is super casual, running shorts and a t-shirt is acceptable attire here. We visited for breakfast on both occasions. The menu had a nice selection of choices, very similar to what you would find at a diner. Prices are about average, some other local eateries are pricier though. Service was acceptable. Food was similar to what you would find at a decent diner. I enjoyed the pancakes and my dining companions also liked their meals. read more

Throwback spot...counters with little slots for your menu...right in the middle of the store selling all your beach toys, prescription essentials and more. Yes there are some tables and booths too, but why not give in to the theme? Breakfast was reasonably priced, delivered quickly and the coffee was good and strong. This was our first visit and we were happy we got in before the line formed. Good vacation breakfast is always at a premium - bet the locals (and there were a handful, greeted by first name) cannot wait until we all leave! My linguica was a patty, the eggs were perfectly done and toast was on pint (pun intended). The GIANT muffin was a square blueberry affair, split and grilled with a bit of butter. If it had been more moist, this is five star neighborhood gem. read more

Great place for breakfast. The fried potatoes have a different flavor than that of a German style pan fried. I also had the Portuguese sausage, which was more like a slice of German bologna and head cheese mixed together. Hard to explain. All very good read more

Great local favorite. Breakfast, in my opinion , is best. Good value. Delicious omelettes.

This is an old-fashioned place that tends to attract older men who seem like "regulars" and sit around and yak. Kind of like "Cheers" without the beer!Pluses: they're open very early, our server was very nice, and the prices are a bit lower than other local breakfast options. Cons: you kinda get what you pay for. It's very no-frills, diner-type food, the coffee was nothing special, and it took longer than it should have for our food to arrive. We prefer the more upscale offerings at places like Hangar B and the Filling Station, so we probably won't come back to Larry's. read more

We used to go to Larry's every weekend for breakfast or an early lunch. My husband likes the Farmer's Omelet and I often had the Irish Benedict for breakfast. The Jay Melt and Chicken Salad sandwiches are usually good too although the Jay Melt is unusually greasy for the faint of heart. As my husband likes the food here I will usually say OK when he suggests it. (One note: Debby and Brooke are very nice waitresses and I can't say more about how terrific they are.) Since the opening of Hanger B at the Chatham Airport we have been going there almost exclusively for breakfast (see my review on this place). We decided on a change yesterday and headed to Larry's PX instead of Hanger B. Boy were we disappointed. Mr. B's Jay melt was a messy greasy burger and he had ordered fries and seasoned fries for us to share. I had ordered the Fish and Chips which I will describe later. Not only did Mr. B's fries not arrive, the waitress (not Brooke or Debby) lied to him when he asked if she would adjust the bill to reflect the discrepancy in what he had ordered. She said she had adjusted the bill already. Well, they drop the bill as soon as your food arrives so that was an easy one to check. I absolutely hate it when I am told a lie when asking for something from a service person. As to the Fish and Chips: The plate arrived as shown in the photo I posted and it looked pretty tasty. I took a couple of bites of the fish and they had coated it in some sort of seasoned coating that had a strong medicinal flavor. It was very peculiar. I was a professional chef for a number of years and have a pretty discerning palate but I couldn't decipher what that taste was. One more bite into the fish and I discovered that the fish was also not cooked thoroughly. I sent it back and when it arrived at my seat the piece of fish that I complained about was recooked but none of the other pieces had been examined for doneness nor had the fries been re-crisped. They were soggy and cold. Ugh! Needless to say we will not be heading back there anytime soon... not when we can get superb food just a few blocks away. read more

It's a tiny diner with a lot of flavor. If u want something off the beaten path head to Larry's. We went for lunch and it was awesome! Our food was even better than at Land Ho or The Bookstore, both very popular restaurants on the cape. My lobster roll was huge! I could hardly hod it without huge chunks of lobster falling off the roll! My dad had the fisherman's platter and he could hardly finish it there was so much food on that plate, every bit of it fantastic! Now, Larry's is a bit of a dump. Definitely not fine dining, and they are not open for dinner, but the locals frequent it, and in our opinion it has the BEST clam chowder on the Cape! Worth a stop if you are hankering for an awesome after beach lunch. You will not need to eat dinner afterwards! read more

LOVE this place for breakfast......lucky today because the 5 of us did not have a wait at 8:30 am on a Thursday morning.....in fact we had our choice of tables. I walk up here everyday for the paper, but we LOVE to have breakfast here. Service is AWESOME and the food is BETTER.....portions are HUGE so make sure you are ready for serious chow..... I had the egg, sausage and cheese sandwich on a bagel and it was DELICIOUS.......Hot Mamma had an omelet and some kind of HUGE PANCAKE, Little guy had the silver dollar pancakes (there were literally 20) and girls had the huge stack of pancakes also (3 so big they cover the plate). With drinks it was about $40.....so a bit expensive.....but worth every bite!!!!! read more

One of the best diners I have been to in a while! The service was phenomenal and Covid restrictions are in full effect. I got the breakfast quesadilla and it was amazing with chipotle mayo on top. We went here for breakfast our last day in Chatham. Where they are tables in the middle of a shop we weren't sure how good it would be. The food was fine and quick service. I got pancakes and they were really good and not heavy. The meal my fiancé got wasn't heavy either even with bacon and eggs. We tried going back here last week but forgot they close at 2pm. Next time we are looking for a meal earlier in the day around here we will go back. read more

I went here recently after being disappointed with my breakfast experience a few years ago. My new thoughts? The food is a lot better, service is solid and it has a friendly atmosphere with lots of locals and tourists. Eggs were fluffy and lite, good crispy bacon -- lots, well cooked, crispy, hash browns and toast. Not a particularly speedy meal but it was clearly cooked to order. Pet peeve, expensive. An $11 breakfast should have cost $8 or less. Kid friendly and pleasant staff. They also have a news stand with lots of papers available. Larry's is near Hardings Beach so stop by for breakfast or lunch before the beach! I gave them three stars on this review because they are so much better than they were food wise. Having said that, there are a lot better places to find breakfast in Chatham. Cheaper and better food. read more

"If you want to eat, you have to learn how to tip" - Actual comment uttered by a waitress at this restaurant. This was by far one of the worst experiences I've had at any restaurant anywhere. Beyond being unfriendly and giving the bare minimum amount of service, our waitress followed my brother and I outside after finding a $3 dollar tip on the table and said the above comment. We both only had a cheeseburger with fries and sprite each (adding up to an overpriced $28) which took almost a half an hour to come to our table. Under normal circumstances I would tip wait staff 15% as is expected, but being that our service was extremely unsatisfactory I opted for a 10% tip, $3. The portion sizes were pretty decent but the blueberry muffin tasted a little bland and we couldn't exactly pinpoint the flavor. Service was prompt and they accommodated special orders for two of the folks in our party. Ordered the meat & cheese omelet which came with home fries and toast for $10. Don't. It's just your standard issue ham and eggs breakfast dump- a lunch counter and a couple of tables in the back of a variety store with a bunch of sassy signs hung up. You know, little funny things like "order what you want, eat what you get", that's all there is for vibe. I had second thoughts as I entered because i didn't like the look of the home fries and I kind of wanted a nice Sunday breakfast, but then I thought "what am I? Some kind of fancy man?" Quite honestly, I can't make any judgement on the food as I never managed to get any. It was all super basic breakfast stuff, nothing special at all. The entire operation is staffed by 14 year olds (though there maybe a grown up in the back somewhere). I did get a cup of coffee, but then I sat for 15 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge me or express any interest in taking my order. I wasn't hidden away somewhere obscure, I was at the counter, with people being served all around me. I tried to make eye contact several times, but the one server just seemed oblivious. Finally, after about 20 minutes, I managed to flag down the young guy who brought my coffee and I just asked for my check. I had to ask for that 3 times before I finally gave yup and went to the register and told them I just wanted to pay for my coffee. If I want to be ignored at breakfast, I'll stay home and eat with my wife. read more
