    Lobster Bloody Mary

Our family absolutely loves and looks forward to the Captains Table on our annual Cape Cod trip. It's small and casual, super friendly and the food and cocktails are always delicious. Ideal for breakfast (always available) or lunch! If you're into boozy and spicy their lobster bloody Mary (not always in the menu, but always available) is amazing! The lobster roll is also one of my faves. I have taken many pics of cocktails meaning to write this review but then when the food comes, I am so excited I forget to take pics

The wait at the sidewalk gives you an opportunity to peruse the posted menu. Our wait was short, and we were able to chose a patio table on this pleasant morning. This small restaurant has a full bar and two tap beer selections. Definitely a local, casual vibe here. This morning I opted for the Oatmeal Walnut Cranberry Oatmeal, $7. Frankly, it had a to thick, almost goopy texture, but it was very tasty. The warm oatmeal was slightly sweet, a touch of cinnamon, and I loved the cranberries and periodic crunch of the walnuts. Hubs couldn't decide so he ordered both the Classic Eggs Benedict and the 2 stack Pancakes. Both of these breakfast entrees were very good, and he shared! The poached eggs were cooked perfectly and sat atop a thick cut of Smokey Canadian bacon. Very good. The pancakes were delish, too, and served with real maple syrup. Food seemed slow to arrive, but otherwise a delicious breakfast experience at the Captain's Table. Also, discount for cash payment.

We went here for breakfast, and it was a good spot. There's a lot of outdoor and indoor seating. Seems like more of a lunch spot, but the breakfast menu is not bad. Service was quick and friendly. No complaints.

We stopped in for a quick drink and the staff were so nice and friendly. It's a quaint little spot, and we sat at the bar and had a delicious 'Perfect Storm' and Dark and Stormy. We didn't have the opportunity to eat but everything looked great. Definitely a nice little stop.

We sit at the bar and after 5 minutes or so, we place our drink order. So far so good. We then place our app order. Stuffed quahog and the Portugese Littlenecks. Nothing too ground breaking here. Littlenecks cook in about 6 minutes and I am sure the quahog is ready to be popped in the oven on the prep line. 45 minutes later, no apps. Bartender is back in the kitchen 3 times. Still no apps. We get to talking to a local resident next to us who ordered a salad with salmon, and she says that this was her second try at the restaurant as well and no realizes why she never came back. Her salad took about an hour. For a salad... Ok, so now we place dinner. Well we should have just paid at that point and gone to the Squire for a burger cause now we wait another hour for our dinners. Which when they come out are ice cold. Mind you we had baked cod and a pasta dish. Neither of those should take more than 20 minutes to prep. We have now been in this place over 2 hours and didn't get to eat a dinner. What a huge disappointment. Sad thing is this place can get away with bad service because they are attached to an inn in downtown. So people will never stop eating there. But hopefully with a few more bad reviews, they will figure something out or close.

I also love that there's both a full dining room and a separate bar area, so whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or sitting down with family, it fits the occasion. It's a popular spot, and you'll usually see plenty of families and larger groups enjoying a meal. The menu is full of fresh seafood and New England favorites. The clam chowder is a great way to start, and I always order the hot lobster roll. Great food, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere.

We started on the bar side, which was extremely busy and we couldn't find a seat for about 30 minutes. The only downside is that seating is first come, first serve, so you end up hovering around tables waiting for people to leave, which wasn't ideal. We eventually got frustrated and went next door. Even though they're separate, the bar and restaurant are connected, so you can easily walk between the two. We ended up having an amazing meal at the restaurant side, so it was definitely worth switching over. I highly recommend the lobster roll. I'm giving 4 stars mainly because of the experience on the bar side.

He whipped up the offerings on the menu but also was well prepared to concoct libations based on flavor profiles or desired outcomes. He also can be trusted to create delicious mocktails that truly deserve a callout on the menu. For food, the olive bread and leek butter are delicious (though for a group you may want two orders), the white bean dip is sufficiently garlicky, and the burger is mighty in simple but delicious taste--accompanied by French fries that reminded us all of McDonald's. I hesitated to write this review because any busier would mean smaller chances of walking in on any given night, but I cannot bring myself to gate keep a gem that would find its place in any high-standard city, let alone the haven of South Chatham.
