    7/6/23 menu specials

The wait at the sidewalk gives you an opportunity to peruse the posted menu. Our wait was short, and we were able to chose a patio table on this pleasant morning. This small restaurant has a full bar and two tap beer selections. Definitely a local, casual vibe here. This morning I opted for the Oatmeal Walnut Cranberry Oatmeal, $7. Frankly, it had a to thick, almost goopy texture, but it was very tasty. The warm oatmeal was slightly sweet, a touch of cinnamon, and I loved the cranberries and periodic crunch of the walnuts. Hubs couldn't decide so he ordered both the Classic Eggs Benedict and the 2 stack Pancakes. Both of these breakfast entrees were very good, and he shared! The poached eggs were cooked perfectly and sat atop a thick cut of Smokey Canadian bacon. Very good. The pancakes were delish, too, and served with real maple syrup. Food seemed slow to arrive, but otherwise a delicious breakfast experience at the Captain's Table. Also, discount for cash payment.

We went here for breakfast, and it was a good spot. There's a lot of outdoor and indoor seating. Seems like more of a lunch spot, but the breakfast menu is not bad. Service was quick and friendly. No complaints.

We stopped in for a quick drink and the staff were so nice and friendly. It's a quaint little spot, and we sat at the bar and had a delicious 'Perfect Storm' and Dark and Stormy. We didn't have the opportunity to eat but everything looked great. Definitely a nice little stop.

Very cute restaurant on Main Street, right in the middle of several nice boutiques. There is street parking, but my family and I parked in a public free parking lot next to a public park and enjoyed the short walk over to the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is quiet. Everyone was talking quietly to not disturb anyone else. Several tables, no booths, one small bar top. The food was delicious- we had the fish and chips (chips could've been better but oh well), swordfish (amazing!), crab cake sandwich, and tuna salad wrap. We also had clam chowder and Caesar salads. The clam chowder was a little bland but nothing a sprinkle of salt could fix. Service was attentive and kind. They do charge a small 4% credit card fee. It looks like they have outdoor seating but it's October so we didn't inquire about it. Would return again!

Good food. 3/5 Tuna Melt. English muffin type bread toasted a bit much with a singed edge, scoop of tuna with melted cheese and avocado slices. Cape code chips are average for the area with kettle cooked hardness. 3.4/5 Butter milk chicken sandwich and cheese burger 3/5 Lobster bisque was better than the clam chowder. Clam chowder had a thick almost stuffing thick consistency with clam belly and grit. 3/5 Children's fried chicken breast had a taste similar to frozen brands. 3/5 Lobster salad with a standard salad. Good and uneventful.

Highest of recommendations!…read more Right in Route 28 as you head into Chatman Shopping District. Plenty of parking and open year round. Like the old Caswell's in Marshfield, you buy at a counter, they give you a number, and you sit on down as food is brought to you. The inside of Mac's is very clean and spacious, and has about twenty tables. There is seating outside - seasonal and today is January, with snow... so we stayed inside. Started off with the Mac's Clam Chowder which was a lovely milk broth - just as good as the chowder at the Clark Cooke House in Newport, Rhode Island! Homemade, flavorful and not jammed with excessive potatoes or onion; the clams were cooked well. I had the fish soup, looked almost like Portuguese Kale, but was very delicious, had a bit of heat to it, the fish was downright incredible; the carrots, celery, and onions were cooked to perfection. We usually get some raw bar, and they have a nice selection of little necks, cherry stones, and oysters, but today for us it was a pound and half of steamed clams. Plump, clean, and sand free. Just as good as those at Mattakeese Wharf Restaurant. Lobster... I asked for a two pounder, and got a 2.5 pounder. Fresh, delicious, succulent, and sweet. Wonderful and hard working staff. No negatives whatsoever.
