So my wife's side of the family I guess likes going here / frequently comes here a lot. It's got good reviews an for good reasons I suppose. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not a place I would do a big birthday party with all ur friends an family especially during the week.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There needed to be more than one waiter/waitress for our area, cause the guy was sweating like a hooker in church. The chips an queso is nothing to get excited about, the food though was authentic an legit definitely worth it.

This is an excellent Mexican restaurant. The chips, salsa and queso served with the meal was outstanding, we ate the entire basket, which we rarely do. Our entrées were excellent, we ordered street tacos, Las Bandidas Special and guiso. All entrees had amazing flavor and generous portions. Our server was extremely attentive and courious. If you enjoy Mexican food I highly recommend this restaurant.

    So good

Place is awful. Only five other tables other than us and we're still here after an hour waiting on our food. No liquor license so don't come in hoping for a cold cervesa while you wait either. We ordered the chirzo caso which was alright. The spicy guac dip, not spicy at all. Can't tell ya what our order taste like cause we're still waiting. Soda is flat. Chips were sweet but I'm sure it's cause the same grill is used to make their sopapeas. Shoulda just waited in line at the lazy donkey

It's Friday and my husband and I have a long standing tradition of eating Mexican food on Fridays. We recently moved to this area, so let's try a new place. Staff are very friendly and service is quick. Ambiance of the diner-sort with pictures of cacti and clay pots on the walls. Spanish language songs on the overhead speaker and American football on the TV. Now for the food. Well, the tortilla chips were thicker and a tad bland for our taste. The cheese dip, well, bland, and the salsa, unforgiveably bland. The cheese and onion enchilada with chili con carne sauce was very good, The falutas were "good!"but with the unexpected addition of cheese, my husband pronounced them as "different." Rice and beans were fine. We did not try drinks or dessert. We also got a to-go order for a family member. She ordered a crispy beef taco, and the restaurant packed the beef separately from the taco shell so the latter didn't get soggy - nice touch!

Steak & enchiladas. The meat was so tender and delicious. The enchiladas not smothered with chili.

They opened in February, 2020 and closed in March, 2020 because of the pandemic. They opened back up in May I believe she said. They have enchiladas, breakfast items, tamales and tacos. I had enchildas which were very good and not smothered in the ususal Tex-Mex chili. The corn tortillas my chicken was wrapped in were flavored with a red sauce so I could enjoy the filling and not get weighed down by chili & cheese. Hubby had the gorditas which were new to him and he enjoyed them very much. After reading the items on the menu it is not the Tex-Mex that covers OKC, but probably a more true representation of their roots. I would almost call it New Mexican mexican, but that's just me. Can't wait to go back. Start at the top of the menu and work my way through. All staff were gloved and masked. We were handed a menu which I bet they sanitize between customers. At the register my credit card was sanitized before handing it back to me. Social distancing was practiced in the dining room. Felt very comfortable. Staff very professional and knowledgable of their menu.

    Mmmmmm

Service is friendly and welcoming, happy to answer any questions. The food is excellent. We chose the elote, quesabirria, and torta de pastor. The food tasted very fresh and came with generous portions. The quesabirria consommé was rich in flavor and the tacos themselves were perfectly seasoned and portioned. The torta was incredible with fresh veggies and two delicious sauces. The elote was also well prepared. The restaurant also has a large selection of aguas frescas, paletas, and ice cream. We had the jamaica agua fresca to drink and it was wonderful. There are also a variety of interesting snacks for the younger crowd with the expected Doritos, Hot Cheetos, and Takis variants. Easily accessible parking out front, or you can park at the park across the street. They accept cash or card (card with a small upcharge). The young man at the front spoke both English and Spanish. We greatly enjoyed our visit and will return.

It arrived as this dramatic, beautifully constructed tower of mixed seafood topped with avocado and a whole shrimp--definitely a dish that makes an entrance. The seafood seemed fresh, but I discovered that this particular style of mixed mariscos just isn't for me. Some of the seafood had a gray, translucent appearance and texture that I personally didn't enjoy. That may simply be characteristic of the preparation rather than any problem with the dish. I only tried this one item, so I don't think it would be fair to judge the kitchen more broadly based on my personal preference. What I can comment on much more definitively is the noise. It was extraordinarily loud. I eventually pulled out my phone and measured the sound level because I genuinely wanted to know whether it was as loud as it felt. I recorded levels exceeding 100 dB, with peaks around 103 dB. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. Unfortunately, I could barely hear them. I enjoy energetic restaurants and certainly don't expect dinner to take place in a library. But there's a point where "lively atmosphere" becomes something prospective customers deserve to know about before deciding where to spend an evening. This crossed that line for me. If a very high-energy, extremely loud environment is your thing, you may have a completely different experience. If you're hoping to have a conversation over dinner without shouting across the table, I'd choose accordingly. Friendly staff, impressively presented food, and a seafood dish that simply wasn't my jam. But the volume overwhelmed everything else about the experience--and at 103 dB, that's not background music. That's the main course.
