I gave Las Brisas 4 stars. The food was really good overall. I ordered congri (black rice and beans together) with meatballs for my fiancé and he loved it no complaints at all. I got the sancocho soup with white rice for myself and it was delicious, super flavorful and comforting. I also grabbed a tamal and an empanada... the tamal was really good, but the empanada I ate on my way home was just okay could've used more filling and was a little dry. I was starving so I didn't even take any pictures that should tell you everything This might be my new go-to Cuban spot. The place is small and was packed, which is always a good sign. Service was quick and everyone was helpful. Only downside is parking--it's a struggle to find something nearby. Still, definitely worth it. read more

I have been looking at their menu for awhile and finally got to order lunch from here. I got the vaca frita with moro rice (which was the rice of the day) and empanadas. The empanadas were great! I liked the meat version the best but the cheese and spinach were also delicious. Definitely homemade. The vaca frita was so good. The beef was still tender with a crispy outer layer and tasted great with the onions and moro. Portions are very large and I have leftovers for today. I had to run in and out quickly bc I double parked in the loading zone but pick up was easy. I am coming back to sample some of the other appetizers and dishes. After one wonderful Covid-era outdoor experience and a couple of deliveries I finally went for a "normal-style" dining experience. I enjoyed the pork stew with excellent red beans that had a secret ingredient and/or pork. The prices are low and the service is delightful. I'm not sure if I knew of the rotating daily specials but that variety will certainly bring me back more often even if the light rail can be challenging. read more

The food is always on point. I first had the Mangu Breakfast after a night out and it was amazing. I then came back the second time to confirm. Its a plate of mashed plantain , fried egg, fried cheese, and fried salami. The lechón was very flavorful, the rice mixed with beans make the perfect side dish. The prices are great. The service could be better, male customers get better service. The food comes out quick. The decor is a bit behind in time, it's a bold blue but the menu on the tv's make it more modern. read more

6 stars! Honestly think I found my new favorite place in the area. Or at least a close tie with a couple others (like La Piedra Del Sol, and Tacqueria Veracruz). Literally everything from start to finish was perfect. Upon seating, they give you your own pitcher of water. One problem I have with many other places here is when you ask for water and they try to give you bottled. I know the game they're playing and I think it's a cheap tactic. So to see water given from the get go was nice to see. Then there's the atmosphere. It has the look of a traditional American coffee shop but has a Cuban backbone. It's clean, organized, and instantly looks like the place is run like a well oiled machine. Now the food. The guayabera and cheese empanada was heaven. And then there was the Cubano, my goodness the Cubano. I've had Cuban sandwiches before but this was the best, and may have even been the best sandwich of all sandwiches I ever had. Unlike other places that might have overly dry bread and bland inside, this bread was crusty and light, and flavors inside were harmony. Tangy melty cheese, mustard, salty meats and refreshing pickle slices. Then had to try the tres leches cake (pictured). So moist, and generously milky. It was the ultimate way to finish. All this food for ~$10 before tip, and it was just the right amount of food too. Fed, but not stuffed. Will definitely want to come back! I've done a review here before, but it was only for the Sancocho and rice. This time I came back for the fried chicken and the breaded fish. Both serving sizes were pretty large for the price! I'm a pretty big eater and I left here stuffed. The chicken was a 10/10 and I can't wait to have it again. The fish was delicious as well. I've tried a few things here and I've never had a bad meal. Quick little lunch in the area. My friend wanted a sandwich but I could not turn down a nice cooked meal. Pork was seasoned well but felt like it needed to be cooked more. The service was good, the food was average. The croquetas were cold inside I guess the oil wasn't hot enough. The Bbq ribs were also cold, so we had to send them back so they could heat them up. We trekked far to come to Las Brisas Cafe for a late lunch/early dinner. We were in another neighborhood and couldn't find any decent local eats. We ordered 3 dishes. The buttered bread was complimentary and so good. Must try! The soup and dishes were a decent size. Chicken noodle soup (large size) $5.75 - the soup can be shared with 2-3 adults people. The chicken texture was similar to chicken stew, the meat was so tendered and tasty. For example, as I picked up the chicken with my spoon, a few pieces fell apart (just the way I like my chicken soup). There were potatoes in the soup too. Pulled pork over black beans and white rice $6.50 - The pork was seasoned perfectly and meat was very tender. The way they cooked the pork reminded me of asian cooking. The rice was so light and fluffy, I couldn't help but ate more carbs than necessary for my less-carbs diet. Steak with onions over moco rice (rice & beans) $14.50 - We were too full at this point and took this dish to go. I ate a tiny piece of steak when we got home but it was too chewy for my likening. It was also very expensive for the "quality" of beef compared to the other dishes. Alas, I had no hopes for my so-called diet in the presence of authentic and delicious home-cooked Cuban food. Then again, I wasn't counting calories after hiking (you had no idea how many steps I had to climb to get here) to this cafe. I, as selective (or picky) as one can be, decided to give this fine eatery 4 stars for the food and service. I would've had given it 5 stars if the steak entree tasted better. I would highly recommend to anyone searching for authentic Spanish food to try the various appetizers, dishes and desserts at this cafe. The prices are reasonable. I know I will be back the next time we are in the (adjacent) neighborhood. read more

The food here is AMAZING. It's always on-point in terms of seasoning, taste, portion size, and cost (SO cheap!). My family and I come here and order from here often and some of our favorites are the bistec de palomilla, rabo, ensalada con aguacate, lechón asado, and the red beans are a MUST no matter what you're ordering!
