I stopped by to Cortaditos in the morning around 8ish for my morning coffee. I went in with my puppy so I didn't dine in. I ordered a grande iced latte with oat milk and a Cubana empanada with tip I paid $10.58 for both my coffee and my empanada. The Cubana empanada was delicious definitely felt like I was having a Cuban sandwich in an empanada. I was impressed and happy to have decided to go with this empanada choice. My iced latte was incredibly tasty! I love checking out local coffee shops and contributing to their business. I have been wanting to check out this place and finally I made it a point to check it out today while walking my puppy. The ambiance was chill, there were a couple of people inside dining having their morning coffee and breakfast. It wasn't loud in the business at the time I arrived at. They also have a touch screen to order from. The staff was friendly and patient with me while I scanned the counter to decide what to order to eat. I noticed that they have free dog treats which was nice of them to have doggie treats available for the business patrons. I enjoyed my experience here and would definitely want to come back to try more of their food items. They have so many empanada options to pick from and they are unique with the types of empanadas available for purchase.10/10 coffee shop rec.
Came through in the early AM before work and the cafe con leche was on point. For a place called Cortaditos, it is certainly important for their coffee to be on point. The bakery selections are fantastic and breakfast sandwich is a delight since it is on the delicious pan Cubano. Parking is definitely a challenge here, so try and go early in the AM or your best bet is being a local and being able to walk here.
We came here for breakfast and I got a guava mojito and 2 empanadas. They have an extensive menu for both food and drinks. They have outdoor seating as well as indoor. The service was really fast and the food was awesome. Will come back again!

Ordered takeout on a Sunday morning and it was ok. I had the medianoche sandwich (3/5) but felt it could've been more flavorful. It was nice proportions of bread and inside but it was lacking. We also tried the ropa veija and chicken empanada (3/5) -- love the concept of baked instead of fried but it was just ok. The papa rellena (3/5)was also ok, the carne had an interesting taste and wasn't too crispy, more on the lightly fried side. The croqueta was very salty, reminded me of the Goya ones you can buy in store...and the matcha latte was also ok, I found it odd you have to pay 50 cents for 2% milk--most coffee/tea shops won't charge you for the change of regular milk only alternatives; so I stuck with whatever regular milk they use. I've had better Cuban sandwiches, food, and matcha latte elsewhere. Cute spot on the corner of Park Ave but food is just ok for the price. Service for takeout was pretty quick, and they had a nice outdoor order area where I was able to pickup, I love that concept.
Ordered for delivery via an app. They should write the size of the Cortadito Leche & Leche in the description, I didnt realize it was going to be so tiny for $4+! And some of it spilled in the bag. What was left of it was tasty enough. But it arrived cold as did all the food. The Cubano Cortaditos was substantial but tasted just ok, and the bread was a bit soggy while the contents were dry. The Chicken Fricasé Empanada was super super dry. The Guava & Cheese Empanada was a little burnt on the outside but the fillings tasted good. The Quesito was pretty good. I would give the other pastries/coffees a shot I suppose if it was nearer, but given that it takes time & it all arrives cold and the quality might be meh, I don't know that I would go out of my way to order from here again.
You can't find a better, Caffe, Conley, Jay anywhere else! Bright, festive and fun atmosphere with beautiful open windows/Ventanas :-) the only recommendation is that they carry more healthy food options and communication from servers can be a little bit difficult. But what I love is that they sponsor Cuban Americans that are new to the area.
Cortaditos has only been open for a few weeks, but it has already left a positive impression on me. Sure, there are several places in the area to get the same cafe and sandwhiches, but Cortaditos' branding and atmosphere are downright masterful. In addition, this is literally down the street from my house - a huge plus! Cortaditos takes its inspiration from Miami, so the vibe is very colorful, chill, and tropical. As we creep into the cold, chilly Jersey winters, this place will for sure be a welcoming beacon. I've ordered from here a few times. Ordering ahead is no doubt your best bet - the lines tend to get long here, and even when the lines are short, the service can be slow. Don't get me wrong, everyone is very polite and friendly, but there are a still a lot of kinks with the service. For example, once they gave me two sandwhiches instead of one - which is great! but an obvious loss on their end. Another time, they weren't sure if I paid online (which I did), and a time after that, they couldn't find my order under my name, so they had to verify it with an order number. These are all small issues that I'm sure will work out in time, and will not defer me from ordering again. I've tried two of the sandwiches here - the medianoche, and the pan con bistec. I went for the medianoche over the traditional Cuban because they put salami on their Cuban - a distinctive trait of a Miami-style Cuban sandwhich. The medianoche, which is typically served on a softer, darker, sweeter bread (similar to King's Hawaiian) is described more like the Cuban sandwhich I'm familiar with. No lie - it was hands down the best Cuban sandwhich I've ever eaten. The roast park was positively fresh and juicy, and that's honestly the best part of the Cuban. When they accidentally gave me an extra one, I gave it to my father and he immediately called me and said it was the best he's ever eaten too. A huge plus! Now, the pan con bistec...that was a letdown. I understand pan con bistec is just the small bits of meat on a sandwich, but the steak here (while tasty) was totally fatty and grizzly. I had to pick away at the meat in order to find something edible. There was also too much lettuce and tomato, so much so that the sandwhich was huge and fell aparent when I ate it. Personally, I think they would be better off being more particular about the meat on the sandwhich, and switching to a Cuban roll as opposed to a kaiser roll. And the coffee! Oh, the coffee...so rich, dark, fresh, and distinctive of Cuban Cafe'. Do yourself a favor and get the coffee here. There are no words needed. It's amazing. Overall, I am so grateful this place opened up down the block from my house. It adds a fresh twist to the neighborhood, too. I will be ordering from here, probably more often then I should!

We stayed in the area for a quick getaway and found this neighborhood gem. So glad we did because we went every day!! No wonder it seems to be a favorite....this place is fantastic! The pastries were fresh and delicious. The espresso was perfect! The ambiance was quaint and cozy! Definitely a must try.

The staff was genuinely attentive and welcoming which made the experience feel very comfortable and well-run. Pretty study-friendly too, the space has plenty of outlets near the window seating, reliable Wi-Fi, and a bright setup that makes it easy to stay productive. The menu also has solid food options if you want more than just coffee. I tried the Kiwi drink and was refreshing. read more
This coffee shop is always great! You can't go wrong with any of their pastries or sandwiches. Of course their coffee is amazing as well. The vibe in here is definitely a mix of remote workers, people grabbing their coffee on the go and locals just hanging with a friend. A lot of the staff isn't super fluent in English, but they will grab someone who is, if you're not fluent in Spanish. I highly recommend coming here for your pick-me-up & a pastry or 3 the next time you're in the neighborhood. read more

Was staying at an Airbnb down the street and needed coffee. Ordered the jamon y queso, ropa vieja empanadas, croquet a de jamon and cafecito. When I say I should have ordered the wholemenu... I should have ordered the whole menu! Mind you it was being delivered, I'm sure in the cafe it's even better. But so flavorful, the sauces that come with it are so good, great prices, the coffee was amazing. If I lived in Jersey I would be here often for sure! read more

Nice corner location sitting in the heart of Union City, the Latin beat of the area, and the windows actually completely open in the spring and summer for a very cool experience whether dining indoor or outdoors. Latin music and the delicious smells of Cuban food permeate the air. The Cuban sandwich and Pan con Bistec are two of my favorites. The cafe con leche y capacinos never disappoint. Staff (95% women) is friendly, and if I may, kinda sexy as well! A very cool spot to just be yourself, casual and have fun, either solo or with friends for chit chat. read more

I'll start by saying THANK YOU Adam for this amazing idea you brought into the neighborhood. Second, if you're reading this review and are planning on going, just go right now!, this is THE PLACE you'll make your home, this is the place you'll dream about grabbing your cafecito daily; once you step foot on it, you feel the great energy, the warmth of its employees and owners. That energy, and the smell of fresh brewed coffee, takes you back to your roots, to your beautiful Cuba. I've tried a few things and everything is so tasteful. Coffee is amazing, pastelitos de guayaba are to die for, espresso is a MUST, the best Cuban sandwich I've eaten is here, the CROQUETAS are a piece of heaven, and of course the Croqueta preparada sandwich is my favorite, because I am a croqueta lover. The service is great, and the quality of the food is 10. And you can earn REWARDS!. You can enjoy the Ventanitas wide open, and catch up with friends, family, or work seated while enjoying your Cuban goodness. Well, I hope you enjoy this gem as much as I did. This place is amazing. I go almost every morning and Lemary, Gretchen and Hosanna are just a pleasure. The coffee that is served here always hits great before starting your day, whether it's Gym, work or just to be out for the day. It's rare that I don't stop here before my day starts. read more

The vibe is like non other in the Gold Coast area. I've had the pleasure in meeting one of the owners Adam San Miguel and his great vibes trickle throughout his entire staff and beautifully designed coffeeshop. This New Cuban eatery was hit pretty hard on its first day, the lines were long and the wait was, well rough. Being new to the area and Union City, I have seen how supportive the community and its people are towards their local businesses. Many have suffered during the pandemic so it was nice to see this new business start with a bang. I give the place 5 stars and encourage others to have some patience as they figure things out. We can all use a break sometimes and complaints aren't worth the energy. Now, on to more important things, the food. What was good? Everything. Despite the long wait the food was very good. Coffee check, Cubano & bistec sandwiches great, empanadas: the owner hooked me up with a variety and while each were tasty, the ropa vieja was my favorite. read more

This is a super cute Cuban coffee shop! It is small inside, but they have tables and stools looking out the windows. The coffee is super strong here! And I like strong coffee, but this one tops it, I had to add some extra sugar. It was delicious..... I also had a puff pastry, with powered sugar and some sort of vanilla or custard cream INSIDE----SO DELICIOUS! Thank God I don't love too close, because I would go here every day. read more
