The service at this restaurant was great! I loved the decor it was very homey. The food was alright. I got the bean and cheese nachos and the nachos had way too much cheese on them. I took literal handfuls of cheese off of them. The cheese wasn't very good quality either. My partner loved his meal i'm not sure what exactly he ordered as i'm writing this review a week later. My wife and I met longtime friends and Cambria residents here for dinner. Our first choice to meet for dinner was closed due to Mothers Day so we chose this restaurant. It did not disappoint. They were busy so service though cordial was a bit slow. The margaritas helped the situation and we each had two. They were delicious. The food was very good. Three of us ordered the green chili and my wife had the chicken fajitas. Everything was tasty and flavorful. My wife raved about her meal and the sample she gave me proved why. The guacamole was very good too. We found a new place to dine when visiting Cambria. And I definitely will be back for their fajitas. read more

Every year a group of us come out to Cambria to windsurf, shop at the antique stores and buy from the amazing garden shops. We also make it a tradition to have a lunch or dinner at Las Cambritas! This year was just as good as the last 8+ years! The chips and salsa is always delicious; the food choices are abundant and tasty; of course, the margaritas are the delicious too! We had Oscar as our server and he was super attentive to our group. He and the other servers kept our chips and salsa bowls filled and took our orders in a timely manner with quick turnaround for hungry shoppers! We will be back again next year! Food prep was a little long, but not the worst. The restaurant interior is simple - nothing too decorative - yet clean and cozy with a beautiful patio. There's also a lot of natural light, which adds to the sunny vibe. Our food was good! Portion sizes could've been bigger since everything was so tasty, but for the price it was acceptable. What's most important is that the food was very FRESH! My mom and I got the chicken tostada, but we each thought it was small, so we also added a chicken taco to our order. Everything was flavorful, crunchy, and zesty. It's very cold in Cambria today, so a warmer dish might have been a good idea. Five Stars - A Must-Visit in Cambria! We enjoyed Las Cambritas so much, we came back a second time during our trip--and we're so glad we did! The food was absolutely delicious, the service was fast and friendly, and they had something for everyone in our family. My wife and kids eat vegan, and I'm a meat-eater, and we all left full and happy both times. You always hear that you can only pick two out of three: fast, high-quality, and inexpensive. I wouldn't ' t actually classify the food in this restaurant as Mexican food. At least not "authentic". The beans were tasteless along with the rice. How can you mess this up? The combo fajitas I ordered were not bad but the chicken wasn't grilled it was more like sautéed and placed on top with the shrimp. The skillet was sizzling but it was more the veggies (bell peppers, tomato's and onion) that were grilled. Also my daughter ordered carne asada and it was very tough. Poor quality of meat. But they sure charge like it was prime meat for it. They cook and owner should be ashamed to offer this to their customers. I didn't complain because I didn't want to embarrass our friends that graciously treated us. Additionally, the "mole" enchiladas my husband ordered were terrible. I've made better from the "Dona Maria" jar from the store. Overall, it's disappointing that the food isn't that great in taste or quality. This is why I don't recommend this establishment. With not many Mexican restaurants in the area they should really work on improving the quality of their dishes. I forgot to add that the supposed handmade tortillas were also not very good. Our review is just from our short experience at the bar. We popped in for a quick sip while exploring the shops of Cambria. We were quickly greeted as soon as we walked in by a friendly host, but we asked to sit at the bar. Amber, the bartender was very friendly and accommodating. Outside patio is pleasant but I cut my finger on a cracked old resin chair. Food was not as good as it was the last five times we have been there. Far too salty. The Carnitas were just dried out pulled pork. The waitress was friendly but I had to ask her three times to bring me the drink I ordered twenty minutes before and there were no other guests in her area at that time. When another group sat down near us they complained about the flies so the waitress brought out a fly trap-the water kind-and sat it on their table then brought out a fly zapper swatter and gave to one of the guests. We recently visited Cambria for a few days. Beautiful small coastal beach town. A small variety of places to eat. All we pretty much enjoy. We decided to try one of the few Mexican restaurants. First off, the chips and salsa. I tried one chip, and nope. Dull. I find that some Mexican food places think chips don't matter. Purchase crappy cheap taste. Put out good salsa it won't matter, but it really does. Bland salsa, yucky chips, bad beginning. Invest in a better brand. Be proud of your appetizer. After that, I decided I'm not venturing in a meal here. I had a chicken tostada, and my husband had the huevos ranchero. My lettuce looked dull, not very green. Chicken was meh tasting. There was avocado. Husband said his egg was too runny. Beans were okay. We also asked for more napkins, never received. I'm not sure why this place has such a high rating or is so popular Saturday. I've had better Mexican food cheaper is fresno. But in touristy Cambria you overpriced average food and the place is still crowded. We had chile telling and carne asada lunch and didn't finish either not because it was a lot of food. We didn't eat the leftovers either. The Mexican food from the truck down the street is better and cheaper but apparently people come to cambritas to drink and they do have a nice dog friendly patio. Service is hit or miss. Our waiter was on the C team backed up by a bus lady that made up for his shortcomings errors and lack of charm. read more

Their food is just ok, not good and not bad. Nothing special. We got the beef taco and my husband said the meat was skimpy. The huevos rancheros was just ok. The beans were my least favorite thing there. And I love beans. That was disappointing. Mango margarita didn't have any mango taste and was weak. Boring and basic sums it up. Service was good. For the 2nd year in a row, our reunion led us to dinner at Las Cambritas. Hooray and a round of applause for server extraordinaire, TANNER! She made sure all our patio heaters were on to begin with so we could cozy in to a delicious meal. My "Top Shelf Margarita" may be the best margarita I have ever had. Ever. We're a quasi-boisterous group with many folks who needed particular ingredients left off. Tanner did a great job of keeping our orders straight and checking to make sure everything arrived in a timely way. There were a couple of snafus (that happens with a large group and semi-complicated requests!), but Tanner managed any of those hiccups with grace and professionalism. The mole enchiladas were ok, but I actually prefer the darker, Oaxacan mole so that's probably why it wasn't my favorite. It was still good, but not my favorite. They were also doing limited indoor seating. My friends and I ordered: -taquitos (good) -elote (good) -birria (ok) -tostada (ok) -churros (good) Had a few beers and cocktails too. The cocktails were tasty. Prices are reasonable and portions were good too. Service was great, friendly staff in masks. There's street parking but also some parking lots within a few blocks.
