    Lemon cheesecake

This is the place you come to meet the locals, eat beautiful food, have a wonderful chat with Victoria the owner and chef, and bring your pup for the tiny sweet patio (fresh water bowl already there). It's eclectic, comfortable, delicious (the food is truly fantastic) and definitely try the lemon cheesecake dessert... with crushed walnuts. As someone who is gluten free it was so nice to find such delicious food that could be made with gluten alternatives. We had a lovely evening and left feeling relaxed, happy, well fed and joyful to have met Victoria and friends! Our pup enjoyed it as much as we did :)

Ambiance is eclectic and one of a kind.

This place is such a special find! Imagine a one woman establishment where the priorities are organic, homemade, and authentic Italian cuisine! Victoria does an excellent job ensuring her customers are happy and her food is healthy and delicious. Hubby got the pasta with butternut sauce and vegetables plus the added Q-Ball (vegan meatball): overall he was happy and frankly just thrilled that someone caters to vegetarians and vegans!!! He said there could have been more sauce and that would have made it stellar! I got the chicken Parmesan with Marinara Sauce that was to DIE FOR! As an organic gardener I deeply appreciate her dedication to sourcing truly fresh and non toxic or processed foods. You could 1000% taste the difference - that sauce was screaming homemade! The vegan affogato was a mix of vanilla and chocolate and you could NOT taste the difference!!! It tasted like dairy! The strawberries were perfectly ripe and - of course - organic! We also really enjoyed the house red wine! We will definitely be back on our next visit to Cambria! Thank you, Victoria!

The minute you walk in your transported back to a 1950 postmodern vibe... imagine the light shining through pink carnival glass and that is the ambience visual when you walk in has a quirky vibe, which is by design. This is a quaint small restaurant with 18 seats inside, so you really need to make a reservation. What impress me was the fact that every meal for the most part had a vegan option to it in the restaurant it's more than happy to accommodate. They even have a two bite policy. If your food is not right within two bites, let them know and they'll fix it how many restaurants offer that ? This is Italian food with the California twist as they like to call it. It's enjoyable food If you keep an open mind. The owner and head chef is Victoria and Scott was our server who was very friendly and helpful. if you're vegan and visiting Cambria and you're hungry... and, If you are looking for something different... come check out Mezzo Italiano.

Food was lovely. Fresh ingredients, and a bit of a spin on the the traditional flavors. Features lots of fresh and organic ingredients. * Chicken Soup -- Nice, home made taste. Organic chicken, fresh veggies. * Caesar Salad -- Very good. Fresh, crisp romaine, lemony dressing, grated Parmesan, perfect crostini. * Chicken Parmesan -- Nice hearty dish. Organic chicken, perfectly crisp exterior, tender juicy inside, melty cheese. Pasta with choice of sauces -- puttanesca recommended by our server Scott was excellent. Marinara base, good heat, capers for tang. Fresh mixed veggies on the side. * Rolioli -- Basically a giant ravioli filled with ricotta-pesto cheese. Choose your sauce. To be different with this dish, we tried the butternut squash sauce which was delightful. Buttery and creamy. Features a selection of organic Italian wines and beer. Smallish dining room, and a few outdoor pet friendly tables (but only one with a real heater). Scott our server was friendly and awesome with his recommendations.

My meal was excellent except for the roasted chicken which was tough. I was so disappointed because I wanted to love it. The presentation was beautiful. And the bread and salad was amazing. But the star of the show was dry. This restaurant deserves its rating. It's amazing. But it seems like the actual food itself is slipping.

When this happens, I know I found a great restaurant. We had a delightful lunch and desserts. The patio was just right for a sunny day in January. The owner said he had a special Prosecco and that he had "a guy" who gets it for him special. He let us keep the bottle since it was our anniversary weekend. When we got back home, I googled the label on the bottle and to my surprise, it turned out his "guy" was Trader Joe. That was good for a few laughs. The dining in meals were at the restaurant's special events with a fixed menu and price. We met friends there for those meals. Both meals were nothing to write home or a review about. Our friends felt the same way. I thought eventually, we would dine there when we are in town enjoying our second home. After today, I will reconsider. My wife and I were near the cafe and she wanted to go into a particular shop. There was no parking spot available so I dropped her off and parked next to the cafe. I stayed in the car to wait for her. I noticed a crude handmade sign on an orange cone that read "parking for Harmony Cafe". There was one car ahead of me but I waited with the engine running. After about 5 minutes, a door opens from the side of the restaurant and a woman comes out. I didn't think anything of it. A few seconds later she comes out again and goes behind my car and takes a photo of my license plate. I thought that was hilarious. First of all, it's a public parking space that apparently the Harmony Cafe has commandeered with a makeshift sign. I have never seen another business in town do such a thing. Cambria is such a peaceful and relaxed place, very laid back but just don't park in the Harmony parking spots if you aren't a diner. I wonder what she does with the photos of those license plates.

Now, full disclosure--I might be a little biased because Mexican food is my favorite cuisine. I grew up in Los Angeles, where finding incredible Mexican food isn't a challenge... it's practically a birthright. So when I say Medusa's is the real deal, I don't hand out that compliment lightly. My wife and I almost always order the Molcajete, and it's become our tradition. It's advertised as serving two people, and it absolutely does... assuming one of those people doesn't "accidentally" keep taking just one more bite. It's loaded with flavor, generous portions, and arrives at the table looking like it deserves its own introduction. The biggest surprise on this visit? The tortillas. They were fresh, homemade, and absolutely phenomenal. Maybe they've always made them from scratch and I somehow missed it, but this time they stole the show. They tasted just like the ones my abuelita used to make--warm, soft, and so good they almost made me forget there was an entire Molcajete sitting in front of me. One of my favorite things about Medusa's is that it's family-run, and you can feel it the moment you walk in. Everyone is genuinely welcoming, friendly, and makes you feel like you're more than just another table. That kind of hospitality is getting harder to find, and it makes the meal even better. I've eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants over the years, and Medusa's has earned a permanent spot near the top of my list. If you're in Cambria and craving authentic Mexican food, do yourself a favor and stop here. Just one piece of advice: don't fill up on the chips... no matter how much your stomach insists it's a great idea. Your future self will thank you when the Molcajete arrives.

We've eaten at plenty of higher-priced restaurants in the area and don't mind paying those prices when the food, portions, service, and overall experience are worth it. Unfortunately, we didn't feel that was the case at Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill. We specifically asked to sit outside and were told by the hostess that it would be about a 15-minute wait. She told us we could be seated immediately if we sat inside, so we agreed. Almost as soon as we sat down, she proceeded to take another group outside to the patio. That didn't sit well with us considering what we had just been told. Our waitress was friendly and did a good job, and we appreciated her service. The food, however, was nothing special. The fish and chips were particularly disappointing and overpriced for the amount of food you receive. The portion honestly looked more like a child's meal than an adult entrée. The issue isn't simply that the restaurant is expensive. We regularly pay higher prices when visiting this area and have had many meals that were absolutely worth the money. The issue is value. When you're charging premium prices, the quality and portion size should reflect those prices. The location is beautiful, but based on this visit, it felt like we were paying more for the location than for the meal itself. With so many other restaurants in the area where we've happily paid similar or higher prices and left satisfied, this experience was disappointing and didn't measure up. 8/12/26
