My family and I make it out to Cambria at least once or twice a year to visit the elephant seals, and over the years one of the highlights of every trip has become stopping at Boni's. We genuinely look forward to it. Their breakfast burritos are some of our favorites anywhere. There's something about the way they cook the egg and wrap it into the tortilla that makes it different from anywhere else we've tried. It's simple, but you can tell everything is made with care. Their salsas are amazing too and always complete the meal. We've also had the al pastor tacos, and they're excellent, but if it's your first visit, don't skip the breakfast burrito. The family that runs Boni's is always welcoming, and you can tell they take pride in what they do. We're rooting for them and hope they have continued success because they absolutely deserve it. While visiting, my friends said we had to try this place because they loved it from their last visit. Check their schedule because it does change. We happened to have stumble on them the 2nd day so we stopped in. It's a taco food truck. Pick your meats and then they make it for you. It took a little longer then expected since it was just tacos but they were busy. The food was good. I can't say anything stood out from other taco places but we have tons in the in OC. It's a really small taco truck so if you're trying to get food quick ...don't. The food looks good, but the service is bad. I called several times but was put on hold and was hung up on. The my phone call was never returned. I was in line before 12p, trying to get a breakfast burrito & they served the person behind me bc they had a to go phone order. When I got to the front was told they were to longer serving breakfast burritos. This is a taco truck in the middle of Cambria. It's not easy to park around there, but there are spaces on the street. Great Al pastor! The burrito was excellent. I especially liked the Cotija cheese. The gorditas were tasty, but a bit too greasy. Service was pretty quick. They have a few tables around to eat. They were serving food at Parr winery and it was fantastic! The guacamole was so creamy and perfectly seasoned. The chips were crispy and not greasy. I enjoyed the carne asada. My friend could not stop raving about the chile verde. read more

The service was quick, and the ordering process was simple and efficient. The tacos were decent, but I've had better al pastor elsewhere, and that happens to be my favorite type of meat. Ok who would've thought some of the best tacos would be in the small town of Cambria?!?! Being from LA, and knowing that tacos only get better as we get closer to the border, I did not expect these tacos to hit as good as they did. So flavorful , they even got the pineapple bits on the Al pastor. It was awesome to have one of my favorite foods in the area and a good break from the more traditional fare. Boni's Tacos is a must! It's a small food truck that offers a variety of delicious Mexican food. My boyfriend and I tried their Al pastor and carne asada tacos, which were so delicious, that we had to order twice! The only issue we had was that they were a bit slow, and they were also extremely busy, so be prepared for a wait, especially during lunch time. Um no pics of food because well it looked and tasted so good I didn't get a chance to take any lol. Staff was so kind and Spanish speaking as well! Lots of seating options outside. Had a chicken gordita and my oh my was it so delicious! Perfectly fried tortilla with well seasoned meat! Only critique i have is that i would have preferred fresh cheese vs melting cheese but regardless it was still delicious!! I really wanted to love this place because the food truly is amazing. The flavors are great and everything tastes fresh. However, the service has been consistently disappointing. I have a cilantro "allergy" (it tastes like soap to me), so we specifically asked for no cilantro when ordering. They took the order without saying there would be an issue. When we received our food, it was completely covered in cilantro. When we politely brought it back, the response we got was attitude and, "Well, everything that comes with it is listed." If that's the case and you can't accommodate the request, just say so before we order. Don't agree to it and then act annoyed when it's wrong. This is the second time this has happened, and the rude attitude from the younger staff is unacceptable. Great food, but customer service matters and unfortunately, it ruined the experience for us. We actually stopped into Boni's 2 times, one going up the coast and then on the way back. We ordered the Al pastor tacos, quesadilla and chile verde Gordita, everything was super yummy! Love that they cook the Al pastor traditionally, it's so good! The Chile Verde Gordita was epic good, the pork was so tender! My gosh, best breakfast burritos ever!!!! This was our first time here, and we absolutely LOVED it. We got the breakfast burrito with Al pastor, and it was gone within seconds. The service was quick and friendly, and we could tell the meat was fresh. It's a food truck located on a nice corner, with plenty of street parking and seating around it. Definitely has a nice and welcoming feel to it. It felt very local, which we appreciate since a lot of places can feel a little tourist-trappy. We will definitely be back!!! read more

Found this little gem in the small town of Cambria. Showed up around 3:15, they close at 5 but were shutting down early due to running out of food. Couldn't get a burrito but had tacos instead. Ordered two carne, one pastor and one chili verde. Chili verde won by a long shot, absolutely delicious. Others were good too. Chips and salsa very tasty. Okay, so I've been coming to Cambria for years (like since I was in my 20s and now I'm in my 40s long) and only now did I discover Boni's. I'm pissed. My husband and I shared a taco plate and as I write this, lightweight upset I didn't get a burrito because their beans and rice were also really good. Like, I'm also lightweight upset they were closed Tuesday-Thursday cause I was really hoping I'd be eating a goddamn burrito as I write this. They also ate quite popular. There was a lot of regulars that came up while we were there because more than a few times I hear "Usual order?". You know then it's a good place, We also had the chips and salsa. Chips were okay, like, acceptable and not going to complain. I do wish they were homemade though. The salsa though? My god. That was good. Like, I wanted more of that too. We have seen this taco truck in Cambria for years and never found the time to stop by. I recalled years ago reading about the owner, Boniface, and his efforts to provide good food to the community. This past week, we made the effort to find out why there were lines of people at this humble taco truck. The lines are a direct result of delicious Mexican food. The young man taking orders was extremely polite and helpful. My wife ordered the three taco plate and I ordered a taco pastor and a chili verde gordita. Oh my, what a taste treat. Everything was excellent The pastor was very good but I was thrilled with the chili verde. I ended up ordering a small burrito of straight chili verde. Yummy!!! The thing which enticed me to review this food truck is these people operating seemingly have no comprehension of food preparation sanitation common sense or laws guiding food handlers...or just do not care! Not one of the men I saw touching my burrito had food handler gloves on. This is blatantly against the laws of common sense. It would behoove you and your family to seek other options. If you come to Cambria you Must have a burrito at Boni's, Chile Verde is my Favorite but don't let that deter you from trying the Carne Asada or the other Proteins that they do so well. Cambria, you need more food trucks!! Sorry Boni's the overhype is real. The alpastor has great flavor but that's about it.. The salsa is bland and almost seems store bought no flavor. The tortillas were so undercooked. It was like $15 for 3 tacos + drink that contained noooo extras. No grilled onions, no radishes, no jalapeños, no avocado, no guac, no extra anything. Tacos has silantro and onion. I didn't even get a lemon. Super sad, looked up the reviews and thought I would be in love. Stick to the fish out here! I do miss their kitchen in Tin City but you can never go wrong with their mid village Taco (and more) truck. This was a pleasant find, as we were passing through the town of Cambria and had not looked it up before. There was just the right amount of drizzling rain to make us hungry for some hot street food. And there on the corner of Main and Burton was the taco truck with a cool sombrero painted on its side. It turned out to be the perfect lunch for exactly such a beautiful rainy foggy day. I had Tacos al pastor plate, one with and one without pineapple. They both were good. Others had Quesadillas with chicken. Those were also very nice. The hot salsa was great but wasn't really hot. The Verde was about ok. Pros: - Food was delicious and the right quantity. - Staff clearly enjoyed their jobs. - Focus was on food. No loud music etc. - Service and prep areas looked clean. - Location was perfect. Cons: - Parking! We went looking for a reasonably priced spot in Cambria and came across Boni' Tacos. There was a long line on Saturday afternoon but it was definitely worth it! The food was fresh and delicious. Delicious food at a low price in the heart of Cambria's downtown area. I tried the asada and chicken tacos with onions and cilantro. The meat is well seasoned. The asada is chopped into small pieces and very easy to eat. The tacos were packed with meat making every bite very satisfying. There are a few tables to eat and customer service was great! Ordering was easy and it took a bit of time to make the food as it was made on the spot. There is off street parking, which I did not find to be an issue. They accept credit cards and will provide sauces in containers. read more

The guys there were so friendly and while we ate our tacos the man even brought us out a free taco for us to try and said that was his favorite.
