Mas o menos is probably the best term for this restaurant. I went during Thanksgiving and the lady behind the counter was kind and offered me prodigious helpings of ketchup when I asked for them. Maybe an implicit commentary on the seasoning? The beef stew was cold, and it was the middle of the day, so I felt a green-gills sensation about this. The carrots were in thick disks but were salt-forward. The maduros were nicely fried and glistened with caramelized promise.The gravy was hearty but again, the tepid temperature was the issue: made me think of school lunch hour, sitting at the corner table eating meatloaf and thinking that someday there would be friends and laughter. Now I've worked food prep and typically cold fare means we're heating up stuff from the day before. If you're going to give me last night's cena, you have to heat it into new consciousness for me to make believe you dreamed up this special meat feast just for me. The decor is sparse, and you'd probably expect a tan island cat to walk in with a lean and disinterested look, seeking a cool green corner to stretch out in. I got say this is the best Caribbean spot for me Syracuse. They pretty much have every Caribbean flavor here with a reasonable price, and they are all real Caribbean food not some American style Caribbean food. They do delivery as well, and they also have premade food if you just wanna do a quick walk in. By the way, try their roast chicken, it is that awesome. read more

WOW! Food was great from the empanadas to the stew pork chop, the stew pork chop is definitely the favorite but everything was really good and fast delivery. The only thing I would suggest which is common in most Spanish restaurants is the size in empanadas to set themselves apart from other restaurants they should make bigger empanadas and add some more meat. My first time here tonight. Got enough grub for three, all for myself. Overall a big success. Started with the fresh papaya shake (told them to go light on the sugar and they did) -- great. Next up was the Cubano. The bread was meh, but the insides made up for it. Very good overall. Next up was the stewed oxtail with yucca (instead of rice). It was _superb_. Tender, flavorful, generous amounts of the good bits. If you're into that kind of thing, run don't walk to get some the next time you're there. The alcapurria was a little limp and greasy, but it had to be wrapped for delivery and it's supposed to be greasy, so I can't fault it too much. The spinach empanada was just okay. A little dry. The owner of the business is a really nice Dominican man. The food can be expensive and they take forever to deliver. At one point during the summer of 2010 they had non Hispanics cooking the food so the flavor was off and I stopped eating there. They have different cooks now, it's gotten back to normal, and the food tastes authentic again. Yelpers, you done steered me wrong this time. Maybe this place was great and has gone downhill. We had our doubts going in, but the glowing food reviews eased our trepidation. Service was terrible. We were never greeted. After a 15 minute wait we approached the counter and were handed menus. Our table was never set. After approximately 40 minutes our salads appeared, sans dressing. The waitress handed us a pile of silverware and napkins to set out ourselves. The food arrived all at once. Puerto Rican rice and pigeon peas was ok, nothing special. Pork chunks were dry as was the rotisserie chicken. The mofongo with avacado was inedible. The sweet plantains and stuffed plantains were both good, but came with the main meal, not the appetizers. The waitress was inattentive and rude. It was a dissappointing experience all in all, which is a bummer, for the kids were excited and good food would have made up for the poor service. Pros? We ordered a few standard and quite simple PR favorites (bistec, black beans and rice and plantains). it seems that everything is quite a bit over salted. Reminds me of a little place in Brooklyn that my husband and I loved to visit. We enjoyed very tasty sandwiches. My grilled chicken sandwich was well seasoned, moist and nicely toasted. My husband's cubano was all of the above with the added bonus of having real penil, an example of an authentic cubano. Las Delicias may be small and not decorated to impress but if you want real Latin food at an affordable price this is the place to go. read more

I went to the restaurant and ordered the Pechuga de Polla al Limon to go. I pointed to the item on the menu because I wasn't sure of the pronunciation. After waiting for 30 minutes for my order, I found when I got back to my office that instead of what I'd ordered, I'd gotten Pechuga de Pollo Salteada. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!
