My mom has her own room and bath but some residents share for a lesser cost. Beautiful backyard where my grandkids can play when visiting. The meals are delicious and dietary needs are taken into consideration. My mom has her afternoon tea everyday just like she had at own. Holidays are celebrated with a potluck and birthdays are important, too. The staff always helps my mom out to my car when we're go to appointments and I'm notified if they notice even a slight change in her health. We were fortunate they had an opening when we needed extra care for my mom who had been in assisted living. The home is kept spotless. My mom always is clean and nicely dressed when I visit. They even restyled ber hair and she looks so much better! Five stars!

She reassured us that because family members are placed inside a residence-turned-care facility, that the ratio of residents to caretakers remains low. Indeed, my family member received a room all to himself at a reasonable rate. Prior to entering SSC, my family member could no longer care for themselves. SSC provides full service care, all meals, entertainment, and supervision 24/7. We receive routine updates and visitation is not an issue. The facility is clean, and the food looks appetizing. My family member has expressed comfort and said it was better than being kept in a hospital (at least this place is quiet). Since my family member has given up walking and prefers to sleep 23 hours a day, body sores were a concerns. I'm pleased to report that he has not developed any since the relocation to SSC. No one wants to leave their loved one in someone else's care, but when the time comes, SSC should be a place you consider.

This is false advertising to the nth degree. People should not leave their loved ones here. They don't do anything except lay in bed. It's way up in the hills and coyotes are howling all the time. Many communities promise exceptional care, but Silverado truly delivers. Every person we…read moreencountered treated my dad with respect, dignity, and kindness. They never talked down to him or treated him like a child. They always reminded us that this was his home, and they were simply there to support him. What stood out most was how much life there was in the community. There was music, activities, resident dogs roaming the halls, laughter, and genuine joy. Residents are encouraged, not forced, to participate, and they're cared for as individuals, not patients. The community is clean, the residents are well cared for, and you can genuinely feel the love. My dad eventually transitioned to Silverado Hospice, and his passing was peaceful. During those final days, the staff cared for our family just as much as they cared for him. They brought us meals, checked on us constantly, and surrounded us with compassion during one of the hardest times of our lives. We will always be grateful for the love and dignity they gave my dad. If you're looking for memory care for someone you love, I can't recommend Silverado highly enough.

During the past several months while my sister has lived with you, we have heard so much uplifting…read moremusic. My sister has always loved music and she sang in the church choir. I was always proud to stand next to her in front of God when she sang Ave Maria. She is an Angel. The music we hear in the main living room is mostly 1950s. Even though I was born in the sixties, my sister was born in the forties. I know all the songs. Saturday, she will move on to the next phase of her life and the next phase of her dementia. Maybe she will arrange flowers with Vinnie for the dining room while we prepare her few remaining belongings for the journey. Her room at the new place will be smaller so she won't be taking her furniture. I'll keep it for her because it's a special wood her late husband loved. On that last day at Silverado, I hope she will take the exercise class. It's so crucial for mobility and, thank God, she is still able to stand and walk on her own. When I think of all the trips she took with Silverado, it makes me smile. I saw adorable photos of Mr. G. photobombing my sister at some farm. I adore the photo of my sister at a pool on one of the outings. Her face reflected a really good time. I have been so honored to meet many men and women who cannot live alone, but are living a reasonably dignified life with their situations. I met a woman who is so beautiful that she makes me wonder what her life must have been like once upon a time. Now, she, like so many, loves candy. I call her Candy and it's obvious her family really loves her. My sister has attended so many social functions. The last one was a luau and that Hawaiian buffet and Hawaiian dancers were something really grand. You could see that everybody enjoyed it in their own way. Well, one way my sister communicated with the world before Alzheimer's stole her words was with a silver flute. It's on a table in her room at Silverado, but she doesn't play it anymore. I'd like to ask a favor. I'll be keeping her busy while my nieces pack her things on Saturday. Perhaps you could play some flute music on her final day as a bon voyage. I know that you have all had her best interests at heart this past year. Thank you to all for each assist, kind word, medicine, redirect, class, game, meal, field trip, hair style, clothes change and prayer. If you knew how many sick children she willed to stay alive with her infinite love, as a nurse, you would know the work you do really matters. She really matters and thank you for all you have done for her.

I've been to physical therapy at a couple different places. When my ortho doctor told me I could…read morechoose, I decided to try St. Jude this time around. It was easy to get appointments for me, for some reason (because my husband tried and he couldn't get decent appointments at all, and he has more availability than me). I met with Susan Mammen on my first visit, for evaluation. She was very friendly and thorough, I really appreciated her time and her care. I only saw her for 2 of my visits, however, which was unfortunate. I also saw Wendy Winters for 2 visits, her hands-on technique was incredible and both times I left there feeling more comfortable than when I walked in. Both Susan and Wendy sent me off with great stretches and instructions. I was happy to see both of these PTs. My last 4 appointments were scheduled with Brittany Pham. She is a very sweet girl and gave me some great exercises to do at home. That being said, she was very talkative and most of the sessions were her talking and using her hands to talk so the therapy pressure was either not there or very light. I felt like I got zero therapy or relief under her visits. At the other physical therapy places I've been to, I get quite a bit of hands-on time and assistance with exercises, typical visits are about an hour. Not at St. Jude, here I was in and out in about 15 minutes. The PTs never left my side, which was nice, but I felt like there could have been so much more done to help me out. I did get a couple of valuable stretches to do, so hopefully my shoulder pain will start getting better on it's own. Nice place and very organized, but I don't feel that I received optimal physical therapy.

We had a very frustrating phone call with Doreen that was very impatient and kept telling us to "listen" and talk to PT that was also on the phone. We left messages for the Dr repeatedly about the medication but she hardly ever called us back. We kept telling them she shouldn't be taking so much medication because she was literally drugged all the time. They never listened or decreased medication. After she was transferred out of there to B&C the new nurse discovered my Mom had infected wound on her leg no one ever mentioned! The CNA's were very nice & helpful, also the Social Worker.

Finding a place to care for your loved one is hard. And believe me, I felt sorry for whoever was…read moregoing to take on my mom because not only am I in deep in healthcare (previously in acute neuro trauma and now in outpatient/hospital admin), but she is heavily SURROUNDED by people in healthcare ranging from directors, doctors, surgeons, and nurses. On top of that she has family who loves and protects her very deeply. Somethings that stood out about ActivCare to me from the rest that made me choose them over the others: 1. There's only 2 levels instead of 5+ levels. You have to have memory issues if you want to live there so there will be no confusion or issues trying to determine which patients need what as the general needs will be similar. 2. You don't get nickel and dimed. Other places might charge for laundry service, food, incontinence, etc etc. not here. You just might have to pay for medications or the beauty salon or doctors. 3. There's a licensed nurse at all hours of the day and wake staff 24 hours. 4. Appropriate staff are constantly cleaning. 5. They usually have daily exercises. 6. There are outings. 7. There is a set daily schedule. 8. There's a tiny putting green if they choose to putt. 9. There's a tiny garden. 10. We could go take food and eat with her whenever we wanted. 11. All of the above was everything we loved, but the cherry on top was that it was THE BEST COST!! What I was scared of: 1. She wouldn't accept it and start declining. 2. She wouldn't adapt. 3. She wouldn't be nice to them. 4. She wouldn't eat the food. 5. She would be mad at us. 6. They wouldn't care for her like we did at home. What actually happened after she became a resident despite her craziness and Sour Patch Kid personality: 1. She relied on them and they comforted her. 2. She ate the food and almost too much that she got the nickname the Cookiemonster. 3. She adapted (we told her it was a private hospital to get stronger since they had exercises everyday and people to help her walk). 4. They accepted her sour moments and loved her anyway. 5. She felt comforted by them and especially by certain people and they would do her hair and paint her nails. 6. She actually got stronger for a bit and actually started socializing and participating. 7. Of course she fell because thats is inevitable but they cared for her the right way each time (and if you think because she lives in a facility that it shouldn't have happened then I'll tell you right now you're never allowed to hire anyone to care for your loved one or send them somewhere to live because that's impossible). 8. I got to see an Elvis impersonator, whole room karaoke, chair exercises, the biggest puzzles of my life, so many things that will now also be core memories for my son. 9. I became her daughter again instead of the stressed and burnt out default extra caregiver since she lived at my house. 10. They loved and cared for her more than I could have ever imagined. My mom's brain cancer eventually took over and even when it enslaved her to be loud and demanding they still loved and cared for her until she couldn't function. Imagine this mixed with memory and dementia issues. It takes a special soul and personality to work in an environment like this; I can save your life but I admittedly am not that person. All of these people are that person and if God gave me back my mom from heaven then I would choose ActivCare Yorba Linda again to help me care for my mom. The care she received makes it 10 times more worth what was paid for her care which was already a great price. If you're reading this sentence and contemplating, I think you know where your family will be going. Tell them the Cookiemonster sent you.

I have never seen such horrendous people skills in my life. She had no business working with the public. She caused a lot of problems. She was very self-serving. When I talked to the owners about this woman, they didn't really seem to care. When I think back to my sister's stay there, that atrocious behavior is the thing that I remember the most. My sister has since moved to a place a few miles down the road, and they have much higher reviewer ratings all around. My sister is definitely thriving at the new place.

The Staff is extremely nice to her and pays attention to here. My Wife and I were taking care of her at home but due to here Advanced Medical condition we found the she really needed Special Care. I want to put a Special Thanks out to Betty and Jeffrey who helped us to get her into the home. Without them she would never have gotten in. I want to thank Laura(not sure if i spelled her name correctly) and Angie for always having time to assist my mother in law. You can rest assured they will be well taken care of here. My Mother in Law loves the food. She shares a remove with another elderly lady and she loves the company. They let you bring in items from home so I brought in my Big Screen TV for my Mother in Law and she and her roommate love it. They say the feel they are at the movies all day long.
