    Fiesta salad with shrimp
    Steve L.

Was in the mood for salad and saw Las Fridas had some nice choices. Went with the Fiesta salad which had romaine, cheese, corn, beans, avocado, taco strips, and more all nicely chopped along with a choice of protein if desired. Ordered one with shrimp and another with salmon. Came with a homemade chipotle ranch dressing. The salads were terrific. The shrimp and salmon were nicely grilled. I took out from the restaurant and found the service to be friendly and efficient. I would describe the ambience as family-oriented and casual.

Apologies for the half eat Chori Pollo burrito bowl pic.

In the mood for some fantastic Mexican food, and find yourself in Doylestown, find Las Frida's Mexican Kitchen, and sit down. The minute you walk in the door, you are greeted by smiling faces. We started with chips, guacamole and salsa, absolutely delicious, just don't eat too much. My wife cannot say "no" to street tacos; fish and chorizo, and chorizo wins the day. Simply delicious and spicy. For me, Chori Pollo burrito bowl. Absolutely outstanding, fresh and delicious. The traditional paintings and artwork just add to the authenticity. Would be awesome to have a Mariachi band once and awhile. This place is a must do in Doylestown.

I went to this place a few weeks ago. I happened to be in the area and luckily found this place. Amazing and authentic Mexican food!! I mean absolutely delicious. The pico de gallo was unreal. Probably the best I've ever had, and I've had A LOT of pico, lol. I ordered tacos, I can't seem to remember what kind they were, but they were soooo good. My boyfriend ordered a carne asada (steak) quesadilla. He was very happy with it, almost finished the whole thing. Seasoning was on point. The restaurant was nice, plenty of seating and fast service. The waiters/waitresses are so kind and helpful being that the menu has so many great choices. Doylestown is a little ways from me, but I will be back!

Las Fridas Breakfast Review After dropping off my mail-in ballot at the Bucks County Administration Building (home of the Board of Elections), in Doylestown, I made my way to Las Fridas Mexican Kitchen on South Main Street for a desayuno Mexicano. I had to wait a while in their rear parking lot until they opened at 10:10 a.m., and then watch them set up the dining room. Feeling patriotic and satisfied, the short delay did not dampen my positive disposition. I sat at a booth in the front of the restaurant awaiting hot coffee and a chat with the server about whether french toast was available as indicated in past reviews and photos - no longer on the menu - or would I have to find a current menu item. No problem going with the Santa Fe Breakfast Burrito with Chorizo and home fries. It was massive and massively delicious. Loaded with at least three scrambled eggs, habaneros, onion, chorizo and queso, it was hot, fresh and a pleasure of texture and multi flavors wrapped in a tortilla grande. The potato option vs rice & beans was a nice change of pace; pan fried with pieces of onion and red pepper mixed in. The house brew cafe had a hint of cinnamon, making it extra exhilarating. My mug was refilled three X. This is the second Las Fridas I have enjoyed (Maple Glen being the first), as well as the first Mexican breakfast I have enjoyed in several years. Given how strong this performance was, I plan to return much more frequently. Cindy, my server was friendly, efficient and attractive. She took good care of me as a sole diner.

La Maya did not disappoint! The ambience is dimly lit, and perfect for a romantic dinner. On the cocktails side, I tried "Señor Sal" - a dirty martini / Vesper riff featuring their proprietary gin and vodka, dry vermouth, pickled jalapeño, olive brine, and lemon infused olive oil. It was a visually attractive, delicious, and sturdy cocktail. Just what the doctor ordered! Later I tried the house margarita. It was balanced and refreshing. There are options to add flavorings to the house margarita spec for +$2 (e.g., Matcha Coconut, Spicy, Guava Mint, Caramelized Pineapple). My dinner companion tried the caramelized pineapple and loved it. On the culinary side, the guacamole was fresh and flavorful. For an entree, I selected the Carne Nortena - a tequila-marinated ribeye with sauteed scallions, shisito peppers. The steak was cooked perfectly to temperature (medium-rare) and amazingly juicy. The roasted sweet potato wedges (Camote) were also outstanding. Don't forget dessert - the coconut flan was to die for! Service - I believe our server's name was Alex, was on-point. He was knowledgeable about both the food and beverages, and did not rush us. Thank you La Maya for a great evening. I will definitely return.

It's pretty deep in South Philly, definitely off the beaten path. For as much press as it's been getting recently, it wasn't too busy (it was a week night) in hte restaurant. There is a decent bit of seating without feeling crammed, and the ambience is on theme with the cuisine. They are BYOB, so I brought a mocktail for us to enjoy with our meals. Service was solid - our server gave us good advice on the menu. We started off with the guac, which was delightful. I particularly enjoyed the inclusion of charred serranos alongside the avos, and the homemade chips were the perfect vehicle for the dip. We split the spicy Camohtli, which wasn't too spicy and with perfectly crispy potatoes. The seasoning fit the dish nicely. I'm not an overall potato lover, but this was a unexpected tasty dish. We lastly split a special for the night, tacos with squash, corn, and pomegranate seeds. I was disappointed in the number of vegetarian tacos, but I was glad that this one was on special. I liked all the ingredients separately, and together on the taco, they went together well enough, but something was missing. Perhaps another spice or sauce? That would have taken this dish over the top! Prices at El Mictlan were quite reasonable, and the BYOB nature certainly helps a lot too. I was overall pleased with my meal there, but I would be intrigued to try other menu options (I am not vegetarian, so would like to try other taco offerings) to understand all the recent hype!
