TAAAAAAAACCCCOOO BOUT A GOOD RESTAURANT!!! I used to work in Conshohocken which has an El Limon. Several years later I now work in Ambler, and by the grace of the almighty there is an El Limon located on Main Street in Ambler, can I get an amen! I had the Enchiladas and selected ground beef for the protein. The soft corn tortillas used to make their enchiladas are the freshest I have ever sunk my teeth into. The ground meat is mouthwatering, and lastly the cheese, not sure if it is a mixture of cotija and mozzarella but it is melty, stringy, flavor on fleek. I managed to take down the full order in one sitting and see myself ordering from here once a month in my rotation. Next time I will save room for some of their delectable sounding desserts. If you have not tried El Limon yet I highly recommend you stop in for your complimentary margarita and have fun with their menu, they have many interesting and unique items to choose from. Had a great meal. Service was really good. Waiter did a good job. The only issue was the outdoor dining table sat on a slant causing an uncomfortable sitting situation. Other than that, I highly recommend!!! Just get a seat inside. read more

Came here with a group of friends last night and we were not disappointed. All around delicious food prepared fresh and served hot. Service was very good. Waiter was attentive. Free Margs! El Limon is a quality Mexican restaurant with a wide selection of menu options. They are a step up from fast causal and always seem to provide friendly service. As mentioned, feel free to ask for your free margarita when you order. For my latest trip, we got an al pastor sope, shrimp enchilladas, and a burrito. That was more than enough food for two. The enchilladas were stuffed with shrimp. They'll bring out your food with a food hot sauce options should you want to try. This place is our goto burrito joint. It's quick, super affordable and always good. I typically get a two meat burrito (chicken tinga and chorizo) which is a great combination. Add there homemade chipotle sauce and it's fantastic. And did I mention free margaritas? They are pretty mild, but a nice addition to any meal. They also have both green and red sauce at your table. The green has great flavor without any burn. The red differs from time to time. Sometimes it has a bit of heat and other times it can be pretty much fire! Food was good, but the drinks and service dropped the rating for me. The free margs were watered down. I would have rather paid for a good drink than what we had. The server took a long time to bring us a check and a box. To the point where I was getting up to get her. It's a small place and wasn't that busy. She wasn't very attentive and I think she forgot about us. I'd return but it wouldn't be my top choice. read more

Buyer beware when ordering online for delivery via their website. If they don't have a driver they won't spend the five seconds to call you and instead will let the food go cold and wait for you to check in on it. They'll let you know the driver isn't available tonight but you can come pick it up now that an hour has past since it's expected delivery time (90 min from order placed). They'll insist they don't have your phone number despite it being listed on email confirmation. Steer clear! read more

Absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Went in for lunch today and ordered chips with guacamole and salsa to start. The salsa and guacamole were both made fresh and perfectly prepared. I stopped in a couple of weeks ago to try El Limon in Ambler because of the numerous 5 star reviews they have on Yelp and it was cheap! But boy don't let this place fool you, the quality of everything is so good! I ordered the steak fajitas and carnitas sope, both which were amazing! They were served in generous portions, and the fajitas were accompanied with tortillas and other fixings. But what really blew me away was the homemade slsa that came in bottles on the table, I honestly couldn't get enough of them! Every single bit I took was loaded with these delicious salsas and it really rounded off my experience here! Very good food and consistent. We've dined in the restaurant (they're a BYOB so you can drink for cheap!) and have gotten takeout on a number of occasions. Never once was our order incorrect and every time it was just as good as the last. My wife loves the chicken tinga. But me loving (and slowly becoming) all things pork....I go for the carnitas. So good, whether in tacos or a burrito, at night or in the morning. Load it up with their chipotle and it's even better. I'm pleasantly surprised that a restaurant in the suburbs is this good. Ever since covid ive been ordering a lot from this place. Did ya get a new chef?? These past few months the meat options are always overcooked to jerky/hard rubber quality even the marinated meats. Also, I've ordered many fish tacos for the Mrs. from here. But now the online ordering systems requires it be made into Supreme (with added cost). I told the employees about it but it looks like they didn't do anything about it and we haven't been able to order them since. Too bad because they're pretty good. read more

The mole sauce here was the closest thing I've had to a religious experience in a very long time. Every bite better than the one before. I am inspired. I have a new lease on life. Best GrubHub decision I've ever made, that's for sure. I ordered a tamale with extra mole sauce on the side which was phenomenal and perfectly done. Then of course my chicken burrito with mole sauce. The thing is huge so I will be enjoying the other half tomorrow for sure. And again, this sauce. Please do yourself a favor and get extra sauce on the side. Even if just to take home and relive the memories. I see they give you a free margarita here (!) so I very much look forward to scoping that out when I eventually dine in the restaurant. My go-to spot in the area for Mexican food. Not the best Mexican food you'll have but its fairly priced and the quality is consistent. If you dine in, they serve free margaritas which hit the spot. Some of the protein options are amazing while others are just OK. Highly recommend any dish with the al pastor, carnitas, barbacoa or chicken tinga. All of these are done really well, have a bunch of flavor and are juicy. You can't go wrong if you get something with these in it. In my experience, the carne asada, grilled chicken and chorizo tend to be on the dry side but taste decent if you're set on one of those. If you want to switch it up from the more typical dishes, I definitely recommend their tortas. They are massive, flavorful and are served on a kaiser with a nice chipotle mayo spread. The Cubano is my absolute favorite. I was originally a little disappointed the first time I ordered this as I was expecting a traditional Cuban sandwich but that quickly changed after I had my first bite and its now one of my favorite items. Other dishes that are worth trying are the alambres and sopes. Both are great and are a nice change to the more common dishes. read more

This was my first visit to this restaurant. The food is tasty. I ordered shrimp fajitas. My one son ordered fish tacos, while my other son ordered a burrito and another dish. Came here for late night bite with the hubby. This was our first time here and it was nice. The place is not fancy at all its just tables and chairs. We ordered pretty fast and my husband ordered a Steak Burrito-which was really big. They do not have and red sauce like pico de gallo they only have the green sauce. I ordered the Asada (Steak )Taco- so tasty! and next time I want to try the fish tacos. I thought it was weird that they would not allow one fish taco and one steak taco they said the fish taco only comes in 3 tacos they can't just have one taco. I also ordered loaded nachos, to add meat was extra and we just had the regular nachos which was $6.95 This was a Saturday night and we asked about the complimentary margarita but they said they stopped serving the margaritas at 10pm but the sign says 230am we did not argue we just said that was fine. If they aren't going to serve the margarita's they should take the sign down or change it. Not that I have a reason to be in Ambler Pa much be we stopped here for an early lunch and what a wonderful surprise. The food is authentic and freshly made. Had a chicken burrito and it was delicious. My friend had the fish tacos 3 to an order and he thought they where fantastic as well. I forgot the waiters name but he couldn't of been nicer and more helpful. If you are in that area you should stop in and give them a try. read more

Service, food and overall experience was fantastic. Been searching for something like this for year's. This is the true definition of a wonderful & important community based business. Family operated, all are focused on service & wonderful food that is wholesome and meticulously prepared. Our entrees were perfect & tasty. Swordfish, Sole, Ravioli were prepared perfectly. Appetizers & salad were just right & yummy. Everyone here works hard and it shows! So nice to see!! As a longtime resident of childhood Springhouse since 1973 I had my first pizza steak sandwich here in 1980 when it was formally Dino's pizzeria. But the actual food was very disappointing. We had two cheesesteaks, a roast pork with broccoli rabe, and a panzarotti. The latter was like a giant deep-fried ravioli, with a super-dense shell. It's on me for not liking it, it came as advertised. I had been hoping for something like a simplified calzone. I won't ding them for my mistake. But the steaks and roast pork had something weird about them, sort of a burnt flavor permeating the meat without any actual visible burning. My best guess is that it was related to the griddle, maybe burnt oil or something that had carbonized earlier in the day and not been cleaned off. I've been scarfing down cheesesteaks for 50 years and this particular yucky flavor was new to me. But it was also present to a lesser degree in the roast pork, which probably never touched the griddle. I don't know. But the sandwiches got a few bites and were set aside. My teen daughter got the furthest, through half an Amsterdam steak before giving up. This seems like a cool and quirky outpost, but now that 3 sandwiches and the panza-thing are $70, I have to discriminate carefully.
