We used to be avid customers of the Las Fuentes in Magnolia, but after moving farther away we hadn't been able to visit in years. When we saw the Brenham location, we were excited to try it again. Unfortunately, it's vastly different from what we remembered. The women's restroom was clean and well stocked, which I appreciated, but the light over the sink was out, making it feel dim and unfinished. The staff, as always with Las Fuentes, were incredibly kind and attentive. That part hasn't changed, and it's one of the reasons we wanted to give this location a try. The chips were good, but the red salsa was very watery, and the green salsa really needed more heat and more robust flavor. On the positive side, the cheese quesadillas were solid--simple, well‑made, and something I'd recommend to both vegetarians and carnivores. My husband tried the lunch buffet and thought it was terrible. His recommendation was to skip this buffet entirely and eat at Guadalajara instead, which he feels is much better. After eating so much barbecue we needed a change of food and decided to stop here. We were greeted and the staff was very welcoming. The waiter did an excellent job of taking care of us and making sure we had everything we needed. I was amazed they had a playground for kids so they are occupied while the food is cooking. The chips and salsa were addicting and fresh. I had the Enchiladas and they were so delicious and super fulfilling. They have a variety of drinks as well. The menu is great and love how they have so much to choose from for everyone so whether you want a taco salad, tacos, or enchiladas they have something for everyone! They also have music in the background to enjoy your meal and for an upbeat vibe. I would recommend the enchiladas and will be back to try more food! read more

Oh my gosh I can't say enough about the food or service. They explained everything on the buffet. Lots of red meat for the menfolk. Salad bar fresh with lots of choices. Guacamole delicious. My favorite was poblano chicken in a white parm cream sauce. My only regret I couldn't eat more. read more

We were in Brenham for the Blue Bell Fun Run ( Which was a blast ) and decided to get some solid lunch after the run. Our party was 8 Adults and 3 very small children. The thing that attracted us was that it has a playroom for the kids with a remote cam and a TV monitor on the wall so we could watch the kids from the table. But it gets way better. Most of us were shot from the run, but one of our party tried the Supreme Margarita and he commented that it was really good. The food was very good Tex-Mex off of the lunch menu. The server, Abril, did a great job and even the Manager stopped by to see how we were doing. Every one enjoyed the food and we had a great family time. I stopped by this place for lunch on Friday around 11:30 AM. They were packaging large to go orders and I was glad I got there before they got busy but just after I ordered a large group of construction workers came in and sat nearby so expect it to be busy at around noon. I ordered the Chalupa's and they came out just as I was expecting with lots of refried beans, shredded lettuce, cheese, and ground beef in a a tasty seasoned sauce unlike their competitor Manuels (that review is available on the Manuels site..; ) the food was quite good and very satisfying. The only downside was that my server never got back with me and nobody bothered to refill my tea glass. Horrible food and service. We tried this place a couple years ago and it was ok, not great. Hubs got a taco salad that was ok and I got chile rellenos which was basically a stuffed bell pepper that was cooked aldente with no extras like tortillas or pico. We always order water to drink, so no surprise that they don't come by to refill. They never came by to ask how it was or anything. Tried it again today after 2 years and it's still bad. We both got the taco salad that was full of dirt. Maybe they didn't wash the greens? Hubs pointed it out to waiter and manager came by but they did nothing about it! I'll get right to it: the food is terrible as is the service. First, I ordered a queso and they neglected to ask what size and what kind. Second, I ordered a ceviche and got a shrimp cocktail 40 minutes later They served it knowing it was the wrong item. Not my favorite Mexican food but not terrible either. The enchiladas were better than Casa Ole' but their queso had that cheap cheese taste to it. We noticed another table with green sauce and so we asked for some. It was pretty good and the salsa was not bad either, it was served warm. My husband had the sour cream enchiladas, the chicken was dry but the flavor was still good. The place was fairly packed so it must be a popular spot for others. Our waitress was very sweet and did a great job. Overall: decent food, okay flavor, average cost, good waitstaff. The only thing going for them is the chips salsa and queso. Came from out of town and was suggested we come here. So highly disappointed. My strawberry margarita was very syrupy I guess you would say and almost overbearing. The regular margarita my husband had was ok. Then I got a blue Hawaiian which tasted nothing like a blue Hawaiian and more like carbonated water with a hint of fruit. I didn't drink it (the server clearly saw this and didn't even ask if there was an issue even when I asked for a Dr Pepper instead) I'm not one to complain to staff. Then the food came out a while after he took our order. (He came back to the table 20 or so min later to ask what we ordered). My tamales was so dry and almost inedible and the meat inside was odd and different colors in each one. The enchiladas was ordered chicken and we got cheese (it taste like the enchilada itself was old and been reheated multiple times and was rubbery and not edible). We ate some of the food (rice and beans mainly) and quit eating. As if that wasn't enough a few hours later back at the hotel severe stomach cramps and nausea sat in and then other issues for the past almost 24 hours where the trash can and toilet are my best friends. Haven't eaten anything besides that and almost feel like I have food poisoning. So just beware. $80 wasted on food and 24 hours of being sick. read more

Must be short staffed. Order several things, and they never came out. Drinks didn't get refilled until the meal was over. My order came out completely wrong. It came back out faster the second time, but tasted nasty. The chalupa was stale and the fajita meat was gross. Second order was still missing a part of the prefer. It was an add on which was on my ticket. Had them take it off. My pina colada was watered down with chunks of ice. This is the third time coming.. Decided to give a this restaurant a try and we will not be back. The service was slow mostly due to the servers more interested in their phones or talking with each other. The salsa was thin and weak. The ground beef was mushy and watery. I commented to my husband that the ground beef in the taco had a fishy flavor.
