Restaurant was small but has a nice outdoor seating area to accommodate more people. Staff was friendly and patient. Restaurant has a laid back kind of vibe. Simple decor but still pleasant looking. My family got our orders in, and food came out after 20mins of wait. The wait was for it. We had the empanadas, tropical grilled shrimp, ropa vieja, and grilled pargo. The empanadas were served piping hot. They were cooked beautifully. Beef filling was perfect. I love the papaya habanero salsa because of the spiciness. The tropical grilled shrimp was cooked well. The shrimps were seasoned well, and the rice was yummy. Grilled pargo (red snapper) was delicious too. The sauce was great, and the fish was cooked perfectly. As for ropa vieja, the slow roasted beef was delicious, but the serving of rice could be more. Overall the food was great. Would come back here again if I am in the area.

Chilean Sea Bass is highly recommended.

Wow, this was such a fantastic dinner! I wish I was back there now. First off, the weather was fantastic. When are their blue skies and in the upper 70's in the spring? Ok, for maybe two days and we hit it. As a result, we sat outside and had a wonderful time. Started off with a wine cocktail. They only a beer & wine license so I went with the flow. It was kind of tasty in an old school Wine Cooler kind of way. Later I had the Mimosa flight and wished I had started there. Again, brought me back to the Bartles & James period of my life (if you don't know what that is - it was a fad in the last century and shows how old I am). We opened things with the Empanadas Cubanas. They were perfectly cooked & flavored. The only mistake was on my side when I added the habanero salsa to it. Avoid the orange one unless you like things nuclear hot. I only enjoy things up to the temperature of the surface of the sun. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and it was extremely good. A pleasant surprise and enjoyed the entire thing. It came with a couple of perfectly grilled shrimp and rice. Definitely recommend this. My dinner partner had the Polo Encebollado and the sauce on that was absolutely spectacular. I think I would have lost some fingers if I tried more than the scant sample I started with. Waitress was excellent, the day was nice, the cook was superb. I definitely recommend this restaurant and hope you have a great meal if you go.

We stopped here on the way from Houston to Pedernales National Park. This place has a lovely atmosphere. The interior is modern and the tables are beautifully decorated. The woman helping us was incredibly friendly and just as helpful. The food itself was simply delicious. Every single dish we ordered was well made and beautifully served. One thing to note is that as a vegetarian I was mostly limited to salads, but let me tell you the Amazonian Salad did not disappoint and I left feeling fully satisfied. Definitely a spot worth checking out!

We love the eat at Las Americas. The vibe is great and fun and their cocktails are delicious. We had the empanadas and ceviche to start and they were amazing. For dinner, we had fish tacos and shrimp pasta and we both cleaned our plates! Dishes that you can't get anywhere else in the area. Service is fast and servers are very nice!

    Shrimp Street Tacos

I decided to give this place a second try after a bad dining experience. I decided to call in and pickup this time. I'm confused how this plate was $20 plus tax. These are the street tacos and they had 3 small shrimp per corn tortilla. They were so dry and the rice was horrible.

    Poblano soup very good

Customer service very selective, great soup but,-papusas bland. A long wait for bland food and waiter seemed to have great skills with a friend who came in- but not with all customers. Chicken Poblano Soup great!

Great find! Our server was very attentive. Had the Paloma Blanca cocktail and both presentation and beverage were impressive. The arepitas was perfect for sharing as well as the pupusas. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.

Excellent. We got the ceviche and the arepas. The flavor was great. The ambiance is clever. The music was nice. My wife sang along a little too. Recommended

In for a late lunch. Ordered the lunch special fish tacos. Service was excellent. Fish tacos were a good choice. I liked the flavor combination a lot. Metal utensils, cloth napkins and real plates. Nice decor and Latin music playing in the background at an appropriate volume. I will definitely be back to try some other menu items!

I was super excited to eat here for Mother's Day however the food was not as expected. The riblets were super fatty and lacked flavor. The migas also lacked flavor especially this being a Mexican restaurant. Lastly, I ordered french toast and it came with chocolate on it ( that was not stated on the menu). Super frustrating considering I do not like chocolate. Overall this place is good for a fruity mimosa, but not up to par for good flavorful food. Not to mention their service is very slow and unorganized.

Walked in straight off of the street and was greeted with kindness. We had an amazing cocktail before sharing a couple of tapas style dishes. The drink was amazing. The food was good but maybe a little pricier than the quality. We had the ceviche and the ahi nachos. They were definitely tasty but expected a little more. Service was great and the atmosphere was really nice. Not mad about our decision to start our day there.

We were lucky to find a table when we arrived, but there was only one gentleman working in the dining/cashier. I saw many customers coming in but eventually leaving as they were never greeted by anyone. The food took very long, like 35-40 minutes. However, the pupusas we had were so delicious! For the price, it was very filling and I really enjoyed them. It's a great spot, but I'd avoid on a big game day.

My wife and I each got two, and I would have ordered more if my wallet wasn't screaming, "No more, please!" I'll definitely be coming back just for pupusas to go. Those things might be my new food obsession. The plates we got were okay but nothing amazing. My wife got three loaded chicken tacos, and I had the fried chicken with plantains. The chicken was a bit dry, but the plantains were really good. The waitress was super nice and explained some of the menu since it's mostly in Spanish. Without her, we would have been totally lost. Also, the menu is huge, so we took a while to decide. The place itself is small and crowded with tiny tables, but that is exactly the kind of vibe you get at an authentic Salvadoran restaurant. The chef (and owner?) checked on us a couple of times, and you could tell he really cared about us liking the place. That kind of attention is rare. It's a bit pricey, especially for lunch. So like I said earlier, your best bet is to get a bunch of pupusas at $3.49 each. Honestly, three or four of those would have been filling enough and cheaper than the big plates. Bottom line: Pupusas are the real stars here!

The menu is very interesting with lots of different sweet and savory pastries from Peru and Venezuela, along with a few other savory dishes. Great coffee, too, and it's served with adorable china on a fancy tray. Maybe a slight touch of cinnamon in the coffee? It's locally roasted coffee, too. Wonderful service, but if you're in a hurry, it's best to get something already prepared like cake. The other items are cooked to order and served hot and fresh. So take your time and enjoy it. There's excellent artisan cheese in the pastry fillings. Very yummy. We ordered the 5-pack of Tequeños (think pastry wrapped fried cheese sticks taken up a couple of notches) so we could try different flavors. All were delicious. The spicy one was my favorite. There are also pastelitos, empanadas, and even cachapas. Lots of delicious options for filled wheat or corn flour pastries. The corn flour items are made with gluten free ingredients, although they are fried in the same oil as wheat. I love this place. Highly recommended. And don't forget to order the passion fruit topped Basque cheesecake for dessert!
